Yeah man I think he's burnt out he's been forgetting alot of obvious stuff. The community should donate for him to go on a vacation and come back when he's refreshed man.😅
That level with the weird checkpoint placement was awful. It was like he had 3 ideas for levels, and just shoved them all into one level, and had no idea where to put checkpoints.
15:00 The separated directional buttons on the Joycon are done that way for a reason. One-piece digipads are just awful. Now, if only the thumbsticks weren't trash...
Nintendo Controllers end up with this problem where they input up when you press left or right... what you can do is calibrate it in your Switch controller settings and may need this step more than once... another thing is to modify it so that it no longer happens.
That one level might have been tedious to replay, but from a visual standpoint; it actually looked really cool and had a nice, consistent theme throughout the level. There aren't many levels in SMM2 that can say that! And the opening giving way for the start of a co-op level was a nice touch too.
This might be a hot take but as someone who’s watched Ryu for years I find him so boring yet entertaining. It’s a hard to explain feeling but a good one, one that feels like nostalgia.
Perhaps "consistent" is a more flattering term? 😄 I get what you mean, though. YT creators, particularly gaming channels, come and go, but Ryukahr remains. Other than looking a little different from year to year, you can go back to an episode from 2022, 2020, 2018, or earlier, and get basically the same "vibe" as you would this year. I'm glad he has his 2nd channel, though, and that it seems to be doing well overall. It allows him to do different things and keep from getting burned out with _only_ Mario Maker, while still keeping the consistency the algorithm loves so much on his main channel.
@@spk1121 lol perhaps it is, I just like how he’s really not changed in his tenure, I see so many people become annoying because they just want a broader audience
I get what you’re saying. He’s equal parts predictable comfort and hilarious chaos. You always know exactly what you’re gonna get with Ryu, which is that somehow the same video can cause me to fully clench my butt cheeks, or I could fall asleep to it. Either way, I have been entertained.
Hey Ryu, the level with a bowser fight in clown cart is a recreation of one of the castle in super mario world, I remembered it when I saw the maze, which originaly had mecha koopas in it and some intersections had textures where Mario could go behind
23:30 The level feels to me like the level creator wanted to make a good level. It looks like there was an effort to make a good level. But perhaps the level creator had so many idea but didn’t know to properly integrate all of them (hence the maze section)
It would have been funny if the coaster by the goal on the last stage had picked you up when you got to the last couple donuts, resetting you to the top 😂
That would be very cool. I had assumed it was obliterated by Nintendo's legal team since it's now been a while since SMM(1) shut down. Would love to see it happen, though!
Its my only complaint with the pro controller is that youre hitting left or right and unless youre hitting domewhat down left or down right. It thinks youre hitting up.
@@SawBSketch That is simply not true. Every D-pad ever has been an imprecise mess in comparison, and people just keep complaining about wrong inputs instead of using something that works because they are mentallly stuck on that false notion. The directional buttons on the Joycon have been shaped in a way that allows them to be used like a D-pad without actually being connected. They're small and spaced perfectly to rest your thumb in the middle and tilt it to press, but also rounded so you can slide over them if you want to. It's a level of design I have yet to see on any other digipad.
@@christophersavignon4191 I guess it comes down to preference. I'venever had issues with the SNES-D-pad while playing kaizo, but the joy-cons separate buttons simply don't feel good to use, finger can't slide across them efficiently. (again, it's just preference, sorry for acting objective in my first comment)
@@SawBSketch Well, the buttons are made for tilting your thumb onto them. Sliding works, but thumb tilt is the way to go. Again, stuck in old habits. It's okay to be objective and talk about facts. If everything is dismissed as personal preference and opinion, nothing ever gets improved, and we'll use wonky D-pads forever. Regarding the SNES-pad, that's half bias, half nostalgia. The SNES D-pad is better than many, but still incredibly wonky compared to separate buttons. You're used to it, because it was the best you had when you were young. Just like I was used to the janky broken hitboxes in Secret of Mana because I was a kid that didn't know better. When I revisit old games, I enjoy the nostalgia, but am also able to see how janky everything was. Most things we loved back then could not be sold to an audience who grew up on tech that works, or even an aged audience that has raised their standards.

I don't know how Ryu knows so little about this game after having more hours into 1 and 2 than 99% of players. If he'd just learn a reclaim (that drop kick trick) he'd see it's an incredibly basic kaizo trick and you could easily do 20 in a row. They really are insanely easy
