I think Cincinnati is the better option for walkable, historic urban core living. Columbus historically being smaller a c growing more recently feels suburban even in its core. But Columbus with its more booming and growing economy, one can feel in a more diverse cosmopolitan vibe well into its northern suburbs. Cincinnati seems to get insular and conservative pretty quickly outside the urban core. Columbus is like a hidden gem, underrated, cooler summer Midwest version of Austin TX. Whereas the urban core area or Cincinnati feels like you’re in an east coast city.
Thank you for sharing. I totally get the Columbus feels like one big suburb--it's not quite Orlando, but does have more of that feel. But other than Short North, how much of it is cool like Austin?
