It's interesting seeing how many people are dissing on the autotune, when it's understandable to use it as an artistic effect of sorts, especially as it gets used in Survivin' to emphasize a level of trying to hold things together during a stressful time. I think it's supposed to be used in a representative way, either to indicate distress and/or putting up a "fake facade" to make it through difficult things.
Yeah, completely agree. I've seen Bastille live and know he's capable of. Most singers use autotune to make get rid of their imperfections and make them sound better, he's using it as a way of distorting his voice for the effects of the songs he's performing here.
I don't like it. But that's my opinion since I prefer to hearing people's own emotions conveyed within a song without the use of tech since it is only a matter of time before autotune is being used for everything and we start missing the days people actually used their own voice to produce beautiful and powerful effects
Once again another brilliant mashup from Bastille. Dan’s vocals are amazing. From the high notes to the low ones, he’s just perfect.
I’d love them to bring out an album of their mashups and covers.
Every Bastille video I find myself saying “What the hell was that?” And I absolutely love it!
This was the last concert I went to before Covid happened. It was in Melbourne Australia, I had bruised ribs, but sang every single song out loud. It's one of my last memories of a normal life. Thanks boys!

@@182pilots it's called a vocoder, it's pretty cool technology. he's still singing all the notes, which is why there's a slight flatness to i here and there. it's still his natural performance, but it's essentially "pixelating" his voice for aesthetic effect. it's all very personally subjective though so it's okay if you still don't like it. personal preference is why music has genres lol
