Those that are negative about Elvis havekjust done little to no research about him and prefer to believe, lies and conjecture. His huge talent aside what he did for people, for his community was beautiful, he was a good unselfish man that spread joy and humility. Thank you for understanding the mrn not the myth Ray. Peace brother x 😮x

Ironically, Elvis wasn’t known for writing letters, but he did write notes occasionally. But in his lifetime, he received thousands of love letters from his fans, many from children who loved him ( and still do today in their 60s and 70s!! Graceland still receive letters from fans who write to say how Elvis still impacts their lives and gives them joy!! How many artists of today will be remembered in this way in 40-50 years time?!
Thanks R’Elvis, for your great reactions, brining his phenomenal talents and charisma to people’s attention, who never knew or only knew the caricature of the man put out by media and jealous people 🙏👌🕺

Just wished that man in the black leather was joining me …… oooops did I say that out loud again 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ oh am I bad? Hell no, I would have even shared him . Just being honest. Ray -- fun reaction (hysterical, actually, at a few points). You should compare this to Elvis's original recording of this same song in 1966 -- and also to Ketty Lester's 1962 version, which I suspect Elvis must have known and loved.

Dealing with mental and physical issues is hard, especially in this crazy world we live in now. I first heard of, and saw, Elvis in the "Aloha from Hawaiii" concert of 1973 and it feels like i`ve been living in a parallel universe ever since. The daily hard unforgiving one, and the loving, soothing and wonderful universe of Elvis Presley. Greetings from Sweden :)

completely melted way before this song is over. Listen Ray you are handsome ...no worries.....Stacy will confirm my statement...fact.😊

I am so excited for you to go to Graceland. Thank you for letting us be with you ( by video ) too. It will be a great experience for all of us . II know if there is any way you can sneak into his bedroom you will find it..😅😅
I have never been to Graceland but I thought if I ever went I would just want to lay down next to his grave and stay there..( I know it sounds crazy but I only wanted to be where he was I know grief affects each person differently and of course I wouldn't do it...but it is where my heart
was when he died and it is still there today).

OMG! OMG! OMG! MISS CANDIE 💜🙏🌹💜🙏🌹💜🙏🌹💜🙏🌹 THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I ADORE & LOVE THIS SONG 🎶💖💌💖🎶
AND I HAVE TO SAY THIS BECAUSE I AM MISS ANTICIPATION HERE: "LOVE LETTERS" WAS WRITTEN BY EDWARD HEYMAN (LYRICIST) & VICTOR YOUNG (COMPOSER) FOR THE 1945 FILM "LOVE LETTERS". IT WAS PERFORMED IN THE MOVIE BY THE SAME NAME WITHOUT THE LYRICS BY DICK HAYME (ARGENTINIAN AMERICAN CONDUCTOR & MUSICIAN & ACTOR). THE SONG WAS NOMINATED FOR AN ACADEMY AWARD FOR BEST ORIGINAL SONG BUT IT LOST TO "IT MIGHT AS WELL BE SPRING".
MANY MANY MANY RECORDING ARTISTS HAVE COVERED THIS SONG FROM 1946- MODERN DAY.
AND RAY 🎶OH HAPPY DAY🎶 YOU HAD ME LAUGHING SO HARD I WAS SHAKING LIKE A CHIHUAHUA IN COLD WEATHER WITHOUT A SWEATER 😂😂😂
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR KEEPIN' ON BEIN' YOU! YOU BRIGHTEN MANY A PERSON'S DAYS OR EVENINGS (WHATEVER THE CASE MAY BE). YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE MY SUPPORT BECAUSE SIR YOU ARE NOT OF MINOR INTELLIGENCE.
YOU HAVE GIVEN ME HOPE THAT THERE ARE STILL ADULTS WITH INTELLIGENCE IN THIS WORLD WE ARE LIVING IN.
THANK YOU RAY FOR NEVER PANDERING TO THE HATERS. YOU DO YOU & YOU'LL COME OUT ON TOP OF THE GAME, YOU'LL SEE 😊
ALSO: MY APOLOGIES FOR TYPING THIS IN ALL CAPS. BUT YOU KNOW THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE LOVE LETTERS STRAIGHT FROM MY HEART 🎶💖💌💖🎶
TOO ANYONE WATCHING YOU CAN LEARN FROM YOU. I WISH YOU ALL THE SUCCESS RAY 💖🏆💖
    TCB ⚡ & TLC ❤ & peace ✌& blessings 🙏 to you & yours & to one & all here as well 💕
P.S. I have absolutely nothing against chihuahuas. I was the happy owner of one for 19 years & I'm now the happy owner of a rescue chihuahua- terrier mix. He's 🎶My Boy🎶🐶💙💕

I apologise for the very long comment here, but I have just read this piece about just how hard Elvis worked and how dedicated he was, even when he was very ill, and I thought I would like to share it with you Ray (as I know you've talked about how he still gave his all even when, sadly, he was so close to the end of his life) and with the other Elvis fans on here 😊
The Undeniable Work Ethic of Elvis Presley (from 'Elvis: The Destined Series by Sally A Hoedel)
    Part 3: The 1970s
    Work Ethic
    Definition from Merriam-Webster Dictionary
a belief in work as a moral good : a set of values centered on the importance of doing work and reflected especially in a desire or determination to work hard
Like many things that Elvis got excited about, he went all in when it came to his first Las Vegas residency. He felt creatively challenged and backed that up with a willingness to work hard to get the show to match his vision. Then he pushed himself to keep the same energy night in and night out, for as long as he could. Elvis knew that each audience was new and they equally deserved his full commitment.
“So he went to Vegas and instead of working maybe five nights a week and two nights off or six nights a week and one night off for a couple of weeks, like Frank Sinatra and everybody else did, he worked for four weeks, seven nights a week, and two shows a night,” recalled Memphis Mafia member Red West. The first engagement alone consisted of fifty-seven shows in just four weeks. With each 10 p.m. show running at approximately one hour, fifteen minutes, only to be followed by a second show at midnight of equal time. His first, four-week engagement was record-breaking with total attendance of 101,500 and gross receipts of over $1.5 million. The showroom sat approximately 2,000 people so the amount of work and performance that went into that record-breaking number is astounding.
Elvis played Vegas for seven years and performed 636 shows there, selling out every single one. Also consider that when he left Vegas and toured the country, he performed another 501 shows between 1969 and 1977. He would leave his Vegas residency just to go on long tours, where there were also two shows a day at times.
Elvis’ exhaustion became so extreme that he eventually had backup singers J.D. Sumner or Kathy Westmoreland sing a solo mid-show to give him a chance to catch his breath. Dr. Nick had first recommended that Elvis cut back to one show a day in 1973. On the sixth tour of 1976, after playing five shows in three days in three cities, the toll was obvious. “I knew of no other entertainer in the music business who had as rigorous a tour schedule as Elvis on a continuing basis,” recalled Dr. Nick. Finally, on account of his ever increasing health issues and reliance on prescription medication to get through the tours, it was on September 6, 1976, that Elvis performed two shows in one day for the last time.
The RECORD Elvis held since 1977…
When Elvis first played Vegas in 1969, the International Showroom was part of the International Hotel. The hotel then changed its name to the Las Vegas Hilton and today the International Showroom is part of the Westgate Resort. It’s the same stage in the same theater and still seats the roughly 2,000 people a night. Elvis Presley has held the record there for the most performances by an artist with 636 shows since 1977. During his seven-year residency, Elvis performed for over 1.2 million people. He accomplished that feat by age forty-two and it stood for longer than he was alive, forty-six years.
This past week on September 23, 2023, Barry Manilow performed his record-breaking 637th show at the Westgate Resort’s International Showroom. Barry is 80 years old and recently celebrated his 50th anniversary as a recording artist. Both his residency and his lifespan have been almost twice as long as that of Elvis Presley. Barry Manilow deserves the accolades that come with this accomplishment. Few have careers of such longevity, and it should definitely be praised. In comparison though, Elvis accomplished so much in just half the time. Also note that Elvis Presley’s attendance record most likely still stands, as Barry Manilow is not selling out all of his shows.
Many things have changed over the years. A ticket price to see Elvis began at $15. The early show included dinner and the late show included drinks. Tickets for Barry Manilow now range between $54 and $354. Barry Manilow now mainly does just weekend shows as the totality of his residency. “I can stay home for most of the week. And then I go and I do the weekends there and I keep the band working and I keep the crew working … it’s the perfect answer,” he said. He added that it allowed for a normal life in between. “I didn’t want to tour like that anymore. I’ll do 6-7 shows at a time, but I don’t want to do 16. Now me and the band get to play music and be with each other, and then go home and play with the dogs and actually have a life.”
Elvis never had the opportunity to find such balance in life and work. Was it a choice? It is well known that his spending often created the need to work as much as he did. Vernon was notorious for warning his son that they were running out of money. Elvis was equally as notorious for saying, “Don’t worry Daddy, I’ll make more.”
Perhaps the often ignored side of that is even through extreme illness with disease and disorder in nine of the eleven systems of the body, Elvis still was driven by that work ethic, which was innately in him from a very young age. People around him were accustomed to how hard he worked and the level of perfectionism that he was after. Unfortunately, all too often now the canceled shows because of illness or the missed recording sessions are the topic of discussion. The downfall of Elvis Presley is too eagerly discussed, as opposed to not only the rise, but the level of commitment it took from him to stay on top. He had to push himself not only to create and to perform, but often to literally get out of bed once the health issues began to mount.
Graceland maid, Nancy Rooks said, “The only thing I can remember is watching him in pain a lot of the time and seeing him feeling the tremendous stresses of keeping up with a schedule that would have been impossible for most people to tolerate. I think it just became normal to see him trying to do things to accommodate that demand.” Remember, with his Vegas residency alone, 636 shows would average out to 90 shows a year over 7 years (of course he performed in Vegas more some years than others). In comparison, Celine Dion performed 1,141 shows in Vegas over a 16 year period. That averages out to 71 shows a year. Some have come close, but no one has worked harder in Vegas than Elvis Presley did for those seven incredible years.
Once again, this captures the fact that the story of Elvis Presley is one of survival and not self-destruction. He conquered Vegas in the most committed and uniquely beautiful way.
