I’m now more aware that this was the Americanized version than I was when I watched the show at first. This really made me realize it especially after seeing the poorly hidden “precure” sign on the stage 💀
Well the localisation isn’t called precure so it makes sense they’d hide a name that doesn’t apply. Glitterforce Doki doki had like half the budget of the first dub.
I think the reason why they called it “Glitter Force” instead of “Precure” is the fact that the company that originally dubbed one of the seasons currently has the rights to the title “Pretty Cure”, so if saban called it “Dokidoki Precure”, they would be in trouble. It would’ve been cooler if they called it smth like “Smile Glitter Force”, it would at least make sense, or simply just don’t dub it at all atp. The question still exists though of why they didn’t keep the original names, like nobody’s gonna sue you if you make the characters say that they’re in Japan 💀 Plus they cut out episode 36, one of my favorites, for that one they could’ve just done what the old dub of sailor moon did and made him speak like French or smth

As a glitter force fan, i notice that glitter heart is singing in the beginning of the song. I like the lyric and the rythme of song including of the dance which make it have like a heartful tone to it.

It had better plot (no censoring/ getting rid of sad scenes/ making sad scenes comedic) and taught kids that it was ok to have problems. The ending songs are a lot better, and actually match up with the dance moves the girls are doing.
