Here's just a little advice that you didn't ask for...now that you've made the decision to stay put, for all the reasons that you've given...DO NOT START SECOND GUESSING YOURSELVES!!! Just leave it TF alone for a while, and just be happy! And btw, the trend for young people staying at home and living with their parents for much longer is really on the rise! Tell Chase about that! Unless there's a really good reason for moving out, staying put is the smart thing to do.

I seriously love your down to earth honesty. My husband and I are 60 so we are older my husband still works. I do feel the same way Candi feels though. Empty nest and no full time job. It’s a pivotal point for me to feel that fulfillment but also want the need to contribute to my family. ❤

I think you are making the right decision! We are also 50 years old and have 2 kids left at home and want to move but for the same reasons as Ken stated we are staying put for a while. I think it’s a smart idea

I've experienced rain like this several times in southern Erie County PA. I don't like being out in it like this, but watching and listening to it is great. It rains 'lots' here in (central coastal) OR and we also get instability showers.

I say by 2 years later you will be selling the house but glad you made the right decision I can really tell how Candi felt you can always see thru a person's emotions there not ready to make that change I myself was feeling sad about you guys selling the house it just looks so nice I was wondering why but oh well its your decision just do whatever feels best and just fellow your feelings upon that's what I do sometimes whenever I make decisions just by the gut feeling or something telling to do so.

Paying more in interest for less property with a list price of $50k to $100k less that would be made up in interest doesn’t make sense. See where things end up in two or three years with housing interest after finding whoever is president starting in January, if you need to wait again that’s fine. If you need to and can build a multi family and offer you kids the units then offer rentals for short or long term if your state allows.
I don’t think interest rates would be a deciding factor for us.
I feel your pain. We had issues with that monsoon as well. Our garage flooded, power went out and our backup water powered sump quit working. We had to call an emergency plumber out at 9pm so our basement wouldn’t flood. Wouldn’t ya know, the power came back on 5 minutes after he showed up but $500 later and he tells us we need a new backup sump to the tune of $1500. Ugh…it never ends 😢
I had a sneaky suspicion you would change your mind about moving after Karli said she wanted you to wait until she was out of college. Maybe things will settle down in a couple years as far as interest rates go.

I am so happy for your family. I’m so glad Ken had a heavy heart. This is not an easy thing to sell a home that you put your heart and sole into. I told you before go buy a few acres and build what you really want. Now you have that time to find a smaller piece of land buy it and keep it for a rainy day. If you never use the land it can be sold. I am 71 built our home 30 yrs ago. It is around 3000 square ft. I have no interest in selling. Again I am so happy for your decision before it was too late.

You’ll be glad you have that extra space when your kids start their own families. We had one child , now he’s a family of four and we could use more space when they come to visit. The grandkids will love the pool and lake. You made a good decision!! I was hoping you wouldn’t sell. I have been watching since your kids were small and still enjoy watching.

Sorry, Candi, you cried a lot. I knew you didnt really want to sell. I was heartbroken for you. I was afraid the house would sell and THEN you would have major regret.
My sister sold her home to downsize but it was going to cost almost twice what hers brought to build the smaller home. They ended up buying a modular home. 🤔

It is a perfect house like Ken was saying for future grandchildren to visit and enjoy as they grow up that holds many current & Future memories. I remember when yall were building it and was Like that is a Forever Home even if it is big. Seattle WA, Houses are so costly here, Thinking about selling and moving next year.
The pond was dug at 22 feet, but probably about 18 due to washout over time. No we don’t eat the fish. Chase and Karli fish, but put them back. I feed them. They are almost like more pets.
I know I’m an outsider from y’all’s decision and I don’t know what goes on outside of your videos, but I’m so happy with your decision to not sell! I love your perspectives on seeing your future family at your home. It makes the home more sentimental. I hope you guys enjoy your home and continue to make great memories in it❤️

I'm a real estate investor so I'm aware of all the static your mind can be filled with when it comes to buying and selling. On my business side selling and reinvesting while also making sure I'm doing what's right tax wise. I just had a friend who wanted to sell her home. She's 63 years old. She bought her house many years ago for $86,000. The house is now worth $600,000. She was prepared to sell it and buy a small condo. What she didn't realize was she only had $250,000 ($500k if married) in gain that'd tax exempt anything above that is considered Capital Gain. I suggested she speak with her CPA. She did and her taxes would have been $122,000. 😮 I knew it would be high. So I'm not sure what your original baseline was but that plus the $500k exemption & any improvements would be tax exempt but anything above that would be considered capital gain. That can added up pretty quickly. For anyone reading this, if you're married or you jointly own the property and one of you dies the other person gets what is called a "step up in basis" meaning what ever the house was worth at the time of death is your new base line. I hope this isn't confusing. I'm just saying a primary residence can have a hefty capital gain if sold for significantly higher than what you originally purchased it for. Something to consider.
Yep! We went over all of this with our financial advisor. It matters what you invested in the home/property as well as what you spend on your next house as well. Great point though!!
I couldn’t agree with you guys more. When those grand babies come you will probably be so happy you didn’t sell. Also the homes like you said aren’t like yours and they are priced high. We sold our house due to the exact things you are saying and we regret it.

(He said he would read the comments😅) you’re my absolute favorite UA-cam dad, that’s a thing, right?😂 I’m so glad you brought that up about UA-cam being 60% of how you guys got that house with the remaining being your recruiting business & other things. I kind of know how you feel. My parents inherited a house & was kind enough to give it to me & my family. My husband also got his job through my dad. Sometimes it feels like people think we have lucked into everything & haven’t worked our butts off for anything we have. I’ll forever be grateful for what my parents have done for us & im not taking away from that. But we have also worked very hard for ourselves. I felt you 100% when you said that. Good for you❤️ (and I’m NOT saying UA-cam wasn’t/isn’t work).
Candi, you have accomplished enough for 3 lifetimes. I hope you know that! I never noticed any emotional side to this whole selling the house process & I always thought that to be odd, but I remembered we only see a part of your alls lives & the emotion was of course there. I can’t imagine ever moving from our house. The good, the bad, & the ugly, it’s our home & every square inch holds a memory. I’m sure you feel the same. Your videos have been so great lately! (I love that this was a good long video!) And you guys both look AMAZING! I was watching some of your older videos & you can really see the difference in your alls weight. Incredible. Yeah. I wouldn’t worry about it. As long as they let you stay; take advantage of it. Save while you can. Enjoy the younger years. You have plenty of time to do the adulting thing 😂😂😂

Once you start having grand babies and your kids all get married you will be happy that you stayed. You will have tons of space for everyone and pool and pod for the kids to play. Just ignore all the negative comments people are just jealous of the lifestyle you have. ❤
