Magnetic separator is applicable only for ferromagnetic materials like iron, nickel, cobalt and their alloys. Not applicable for silver, copper, etc. non ferrous metal. For non ferrous metal, you can use metal detector. Metal detector will detect metal and then mark the spot and as per logic can stop the conveyor. Then manually that metal needs to be removed from marked area. Hope i answer your question,, thanks.
We have same one , but we have problem is settled to work in 3 position it depends on material coming,when it work on 1 st position we have no problem but when it's work with the second and the third position it's work for 5mn and stop (contactor opens) what do you think it's the problem please? 😊

you have to keep some portion screw conveyor open where the magnetic separator to be installed and material of construction screw conveyor should also be non magnetic. However, prefer to installed magnetic separator before feeding to screw conveyor or after discharge of screw conveyor. thanks for your comment

Few of them are conveyor belt speed, carrying material properties, carrying material depth on conveyor belt, height of hanging magnet from conveyor belt, what is the maximum weight of tramp iron to separate or lift, environment, etc. For medium intensity equipment It may start from 400 at a distance of 200mm.

If feed hopper is large in capacity, should use any feeder below hopper (between hopper and belt) to feed material to belt conveyor. It will help easy extraction of material from hopper and eliminate column load on conveyor belt due to material height in hopper. If all material falls on conveyor belt at a time (for high capacity hopper), the conveyor will stop working due to sudden high load on belt. 2. Material from high capacity hopper may be feeded to conveyor belt directly without using any feeder (like sand carrying ship), but the feeding should be in controlled way (small small material should fall on belt at at time) otherwise belt will stop. 3.. If the capacity of hopper is low with respect to conveyor, direct feeding in conveyor may be allowed without using any feeder. In that case belt should be designed considering that column load of material. 4. If there is feeder below hopper or in case of small capacity hopper without feeder, there should be skirt board on belt to receive material. 5. If you want to feed material directly from hopper to belt conveyor through chute and are not using any skirt (though, this is not recommended), then chute height and cross-sectional dimension will depend on belt conveyor design parameters. Material weight in chute must not be beyond conveyor design capacity, otherwise conveyor will not work. Those all (conveyor feeding mechanism and system design) are vast subject and very tough to explain in short write-up. However, hope you will get some idea regarding that. Thank you
