The chopper flown by Jan-Michael Vincent's character in the 1984-86 action-adventure series "Airwolf" was a Bell 222 twin-engined model (modified to look tougher, of course). When the show concluded it was sold off for use as an air ambulance in Germany. It was in this capacity that, according to a German news article, it was flying near the village of Berlar in the northwest, returning to Berlin after airlifting a severely burned eight-year-old girl to a hospital in Cologne. It was flying through a severe storm and crashed, killing all three passengers -- the pilot, a paramedic and an emergency physician..June 6, 1992, killing its three passengers.
Wow, watching this magnificent video vlog brings back the wonderful memories of my childhood. Me and my family are always watching AirWolf tv series back then, indeed i grew up with this wonderful tv show. RIP Jan Michael Vincent and Ernest Borgnine, thank you for those wonderful memories.
I was at work today, 7/2/22, selling a phone to a middle aged guy, his partners phone starts ringing with this tune! I was stunned I found somebody else who knew what the show was! Made me smile underneath my mask. 🐺
The most impressive feature of the Airwolf show was, when the Lady outmaneuvered an actual fighter jet aircraft. What a machine, what piloting skills. They were a great team, String, Dom and the Lady.
Vin Damascous Aye! True! I’ve got 4 versions of this theme (including an extended version) burned onto an audio CD in my car. Makes for a great commute home from work every day, blaring out the Airwolf theme at full volume, while weaving through traffic 😎
This version of the theme is totally lackluster. They theme that 'launched' Airwolf in season one, was incredibly better than the "Synthesisized screeching", that they resorted to in season two, and the seasons afterwards.
Absolutely fantastic TV series. Best ever. I loved it. Always will. That hi tech supercopter is the best ever. I,d love one. The theme music is absolutely brilliant. I love it.
Hmmm, i'm not sure how much of the fight scenes were. I knew that the actual Airwolf chopper which was used for filming was eventually sold & crashed in Germany, hence I know that part was real. I'm not saying they didn't use models, of course they did for some parts, but I thought the bulk was done using real genuine helicopters.
@@alexnowis2468 I do not know the actual ratio of model:real helo but if you watch close every now and then they didnt do so good hiding that fact . Regardless I wouldnt mind a real one parked in the back yard .

Aunque no se compararia, podrian hacer un remake de la serie con la tecnologia de ahora en una pelicula, para no perder la magia de la serie, con mejores efectos y acrobacias, pero la misma musica y los mismos nombres, podria ser un buen enganche para todos los de nuestra epoca.
Loved that show. That haunting noise Airwolf made. Looking at just this clip it boggles the mind how expensive this show must have cost to make as compared to a sitcom or something.
I love I grew up as a kid watching this great show, which I will cherish the rest of my life. I know Top Gun Maverick has just been out a couple of years, but I noticed some of the flying stunts from the movie where already done by the great pilots of this show that's how exciting it was to see this on regular TV back in the 80s.
