"I was trying to find a video of how to remove that head, and there was nothing out there, so I decided to make my own." Thank you sir. Your work is appreciated.
There are still no other videos out there for this type of head. THANK YOU! I tried a bunch of other videos, but they were the wrong type or just showing how to replace the string.
Thank you so much! I thought my weed eater was a goner when I couldn’t figure out how in the world to get the string head removed. I searched and searched for directions and thankfully came across your video. I really appreciate you taking the time to help people out with this problem.
Thank you so so much! I have been messing with mine all afternoon trying to replace the head because the one on it is not very good. The model that I have the plastic housing around the motor I basically had to rip it off even after I got the screws off, so I’m hoping I can get it all back together but at least I was able to get the head off from looking at your instructions, so thank you so much for that! This is Michael in Atlanta!
THANK YOU! I've been stuck with disassembly only because I had NO IDEA about the hidden screw behind the sticker! I was extremely frustrated before this video and this tip helped big time. As well as removing the head itself. Thank you!
Thank you , this is just what I needed. I have the smaller 18volt Ryobi and its been a headache for line feeding and poor quality line so I purchased a easy feed head on line but could not find any info on removing this type head. Well done CP.
u are a wonder u shorting my 3 hrs into 5 min dont know how u figure it out but u save me time thks for the great job of getting the head off back to yard work
I'm looking to replace a head on mine. I'd sure love to see more of the head assembly. I bought one of those easy edge head assembly but don't know how it would install
@@zombiecorps234 Actually, no. Mine was an older 18 volt. The drive shaft was way too small to work. In the end I threw it away and found a new 40 volt with trimming and edging attachments for $100.
I have a different brand, Hart, but exactly the same trimmer. The hole where the screws sit in is very deep and my short T15 screwdriver head a trouble get in. should get a long drill head like yours.
Thanks again. Why o why does putting a label over a screw seem smart???!!!. By the way their 40 Volt battery can suddenly & spontaneously explode. Makes for an exciting event particularly on your kitchen counter. Fortunately we were home when it happened.
Nice vid! But I was looking to removing mine to put in the Indestructible Trimmer - any chance the bolt sticks out far enough to swap that string head attachment out fully?
This happened to me on the first day using the trimmer. I didn't burn the motor though, the rod where the string head screws on got so hot it melted the string head and it just fell off. I posted a video about it.
Probably not if they are made of PVC as any trimmer has the possibility of damaging anything plastic. If they are metal the string trimmer should work just fine.
Hole saw. At golf courses we use what is essentially a hole saw on a long T handle to edge the big rotors like Rainbird 550s, 900s, and round valve boxes. Would probably be fine for 5000s, minis and maxis paws and hunter I20s too. One quick tap of the trigger instead of a couple twists of a T handle? Why not try, used hole saws are cheap so are the caps for 5000 and i20 rotors.

Thanks for the video. I was beginning to lose hope that these heads were interchangable

Without seeing the new head I would think it probably would just screw on with right hand threads
Thanks for ther video.... I could not figure out how to get the head off. Im replacing it with the bump real.
Hey did you ever get that pump head to work on that trimmer I just picked one up and was wonder if you got it to fit and work

Great. Thank you
Nice vid! But I was looking to removing mine to put in the Indestructible Trimmer - any chance the bolt sticks out far enough to swap that string head attachment out fully?
Yes if it is a Ryobi head then it should work.
Yes, and sorry for the late response

Great video, I'm trying to come up with an attachment for my 40v weed eater to clean around my sprinkler heads. Any ideas to help solve this search ?
