Always think that was the glory days for football. Any team had a chance to win domestically and in Europe, and at the start of every season, every fan could dream. Then the money killed it.
Utd fan here -interesting to see the 79/80 footage. Probably when Scottish footbal entered one of it's golden eras with decent Abdn, Celtic and Utd sides. Those were the days...
To be honest before Fergie Arrived , Aberseen did not look like. Potential league winners , it was just tge sheer determination of Fergie that fave dons their golden era
I am a Celtic fan. That season Celtic threw away a massive lead in the spring with far too many draws. At the same time I have always believed the best team wins the league. As Aberdeen won twice at Celtic Park n the run in they were worthy winners of the league title.
Always amazed when I see what a skilful player Mark McGhee was, and what a terrible manager... in fact, has such a successful side ever produced so many shite managers?!!

Celtic fan, great era for Scottish football when a few teams outside the old firm challenged and won the title, would love those days again.
"Watson...ooh the bar!!!

Hearts had a fair old team around that time too. It all came to an end with Souness era. Scottish football has been in free-fall since.

@@ian38018a Hearts were not even in the Premier Division in season 1979-80.
@@Aidankiwi they year they bottled the league against Dundee, were they not promoted the season before?
Team of the Decade! Ace video!

Strachan playing in 1979?!?!?!?...i think he retired in the end of 90s at Coventry city!!!!
@spudthrasher Unanimous then...we all hate Rangers!
Imagine....S.F.A. gave Fergie a fine or a ban for celebrating at Easter Rd, but even better, the League table at the end....Where are Rangers?

It is this enduring myth that a player under Ferguson will be as good a manager as Ferguson.
3.26 to 3.58
@OneBillyTurner Stand up to the English.
look at the final table: even back then Rangers were woeful crap, no history
