I downloaded it in 4k / 2160p also: Amazing movie. Watched it 3 times in the cinema theater. One with my Father, Then my Cousin , Then my GF. Incredible movie experience each time. IF you have the chance, Watch it in a cinema theater. Its more then a movie, Again, Its an experience.
It’s odd to me that a sandworm’s scales would overlap so that a hook thrown forward and pulled backwards would catch like this, because scales in that fashion would make it difficult for the worm to crawl through sand without the scales catching on things. They should overlap the other way to streamline the creature. Think of a cheese grater: you pass your hand over it one way and your hand catches and gets shredded but if you pass your hand over it the other way it will just ride up harmlessly over the bumps.
Timothy chalamet did a great job. Hans zimmer like usual music on point. Just Zendya’s role was not convincing and they rushed the war, made the emperor and his army a joke. I wish they played this movie in two parts to be honest and fixed these issues
Last time I felt such emotions and feelings about a movie/s was the LOTR trilogy. Dune 1 and 2 have been such masterfully done adaptations. There are a lot of similarities between LOTR and Dune in the making of these these movies. Just like Peter Jackson, Denis Villeneuve understands and respects the source material and the people involved are clearly passionate about making the movies and are not doing only for the check. As far as I know most of the big name actors took a pay cut because of the respect they have for Villeneuve and wanting to be in these movies. Just like LOTR, Dune movies have a perfect blend btween CGI and practical effects, that's how it's done right and use the strengths of both. The writing is amazing and adapted from the books, the soundtrack brings the feelings to the max in being immersed in this world, it fits perfectly. This is one in generation experience and masterpiece of cinema. I can't wait for the 3rd movie, in a sea of horrible Hollywood movies in the past decade, we needed this to give us hope.

They use the hooks to pull up the worms outer plates, exposing those vents you can see at 2:00. Worms don't like getting too much sand in the vents, so they don't dive while they're open.
Haven't watched the movie but just finished reading this section and was awed! The worm won't go underground because the hooks expose its vulnerable flesh. it tries to keep the exposed flesh as away from the sand and rolls over. That's why Paul is on top of the worm now

Anyone else think of the Doors track on this "Riders On The Storm?" watching this but then realise "Ride the snake"(sandworm in this case) line...comes from the track "The End?. They have auto-visors. Watch the attack on the Harkonnen harvester scene. When Paul and Chani crawl under the harvester to the other side and start running to the legs, you see their visors raise up.
Paul is without goggles before he makes the jump, and then somehow they are on. Still great scene though. The gushes of sand hitting the rider really highlight how hard it is. It also seems that tehy used rocket engine crackle as a sound effect

Its because they lift those "plates" or "rings" on the sandworm. Getting sand in there is irritating so they stay on the surface and don't burrow themselves again.
The theater felt like an earthquake when he was riding the worm. The amc dolby atmos theater was insane!

When the sound of the worm hit my ears, I almost fainted. I had on headphones and it was ridiculously loud. Thought I was getting hit by a truck.

I will never forget what it was like to watch this movie in theaters. So cool
It’s odd to me that a sandworm’s scales would overlap so that a hook thrown forward and pulled backwards would catch like this, because scales in that fashion would make it difficult for the worm to crawl through sand without the scales catching on things. They should overlap the other way to streamline the creature. Think of a cheese grater: you pass your hand over it one way and your hand catches and gets shredded but if you pass your hand over it the other way it will just ride up harmlessly over the bumps.
That's probably why they avoid rock formations and mostly reside further underground

Timothy chalamet did a great job. Hans zimmer like usual music on point. Just Zendya’s role was not convincing and they rushed the war, made the emperor and his army a joke. I wish they played this movie in two parts to be honest and fixed these issues
There's a reason this scene works so well and that is how it's been edited. Take shots out, like here, and the illusion doesn't have the same punch.

Last time I felt such emotions and feelings about a movie/s was the LOTR trilogy. Dune 1 and 2 have been such masterfully done adaptations. There are a lot of similarities between LOTR and Dune in the making of these these movies. Just like Peter Jackson, Denis Villeneuve understands and respects the source material and the people involved are clearly passionate about making the movies and are not doing only for the check. As far as I know most of the big name actors took a pay cut because of the respect they have for Villeneuve and wanting to be in these movies. Just like LOTR, Dune movies have a perfect blend btween CGI and practical effects, that's how it's done right and use the strengths of both. The writing is amazing and adapted from the books, the soundtrack brings the feelings to the max in being immersed in this world, it fits perfectly. This is one in generation experience and masterpiece of cinema. I can't wait for the 3rd movie, in a sea of horrible Hollywood movies in the past decade, we needed this to give us hope.
To bad all the directors can't be this good. Proof that it actually takes vision to accomplish greatness.

They use the hooks to pull up the worms outer plates, exposing those vents you can see at 2:00. Worms don't like getting too much sand in the vents, so they don't dive while they're open.

The worm won't go underground because the hooks expose its vulnerable flesh. it tries to keep the exposed flesh as away from the sand and rolls over. That's why Paul is on top of the worm now

Still great scene though. The gushes of sand hitting the rider really highlight how hard it is. It also seems that tehy used rocket engine crackle as a sound effect

Its because they lift those "plates" or "rings" on the sandworm. Getting sand in there is irritating so they stay on the surface and don't burrow themselves again.
