    I admire your ability to deliver that much information and spoken so consistently and easy to follow. Wish I had that ability to speak quickly and intelligently. Good job. Very interesting. My Grandfather Sprinkle worked and lived and was born in Birdseye, Ind. and made his living in the woods. He would go into a woods and tell the potential buyer how much lumber was there.

    • @IronOakSawmill
      @IronOakSawmill  3 роки тому

      I just watch and learn from so many others. Plus go from my own experiences. Once you have the knowledge, its easy to speak clearly on the matter.
      Sounds like your grandfather was a good forester. Someone you want on your side bothe when selling and buying standing timber.

    Totally awesome slabs guys and no metal. That was a huge job and I loved all the camera angles too! That blade was slicing right thru with no problems. I was amazed there was no metal, considering where these were located. The LT35, and the 7° turbos were getting it done. We are really trying our best with the cameras. Our videos are long, but we like to keep as much mill time in as we can. Need to work on some editing skills though. LOL
      Deb was doing great. A lot less coaching. Maybe talk her through a whole log in coming videos. Let her do the whole job.

      It depends on what type of wood you are cutting to how long a blade lasts. Typically about 300 to 500 board feet of lumber. They can be resharpened, and work very well.

    As much as I enjoy watching that Wood Mizer do its thing, I would really like to see what happens to all the finished slab wood you create with it - does it go to craftsmen who turn it all into killer dining or coffee tables, or other kinds of furniture? Perhaps you could expand your present platform to include those who buy wood straight from your mill and follow what they do next to add additional value. Everyone's looking for a unique hook to get more viewers in an already crowded sea of sawmill operators who gab and slab on YT - developing video partnerships with those who take what you create and turn it into functional accessories or works of art just might be the ticket.

      Hello Lyle, and thank you for your question. You are in luck. We have some videos of us running our LT15 and of course, our lt35. Just look back in our video list, and you can watch us running the LT15, and see there are HUGE differences.
      You can also visit their web site, go to their "Configurator", where you can build and price a machine with whatever option you want.
      I hope this helps. If not, let me know what else I can help with.

    WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE SAW DUST .?

    • @IronOakSawmill
      @IronOakSawmill  3 роки тому

      Hello William, and welcome to the mill. In this case, the customer used it as mulch / weed control. That's about the best use for it.

    sapwood does not count on width when dealing walnut.

    • @IronOakSawmill
      @IronOakSawmill  3 роки тому

      It does if you want the sapwood. Also, if you steam it, (which we don't do) it blends the white and the darker wood into one even shade_

    Any tips on filming and editing videos?

    • @IronOakSawmill
      @IronOakSawmill  3 роки тому

      Hello Orville, and welcome..
      Get a good editing software program. Try to use multiple cameras, or at least multiple angles. If you're talking, be close to the camera, or have a mic.
      Good, clear, steady video.
      I hope this helps

    The video is too long, kind a like watching paint dry, like the walnut though

      Some like just a few cuts, other like to see more of the process. I keep the videos longer so folks can skip if they want, or watch the whole thing if the chose.
      Glad you like the walnut
