I'm in awe of how we can share ideas and create custom items. I can't wait to get a 3D printer. For jumper wires: affix some small neodymium magnets in a circle to some kind of tray, I use a magnetic parts tray. Then connect the two ends of each jumper to two adjacent magnets. You just need the same number of magnets as number of colours. Of course your jumper wires need to be magnetic - mine are.
It keeps the curve in the wire which is usually the same shape it's used in, it's very easy to remove and replace jumpers in the right spot (just dangle the ends close to the right magnets), It's small and compact, and it's aesthetically satisfying -- it's like a rainbow jumper wire flower on your desk.

Don't care for meeting celebs. But this. You. Something far more worth celebrating. Just in case no one has informed you. If I see you in public I'll stay calm, but I'll ask for a pic with me. Smart people are the real celebs in my book. Especially the ones who take time to share and help us all. You're a good human. A guide. We love and truly appreciate your efforts and your time. 🤘🕯️🕯️🕯️

@@cogspace It could also work quite well with foam terrain tiles (either carve the grid pattern into the bottom of the tiles or print a base that interlocks with the grid and acts as an under-layer for the tile).

Regarding Gridfinity for a specific assortment like that Dremel box set, the 1 year old Quinn Master Technician 428pc tool set has no trays or organizers. It’s meant to go into a tool chest with your own socket trays, pick-apart foam, wrench organizers, etc. For 428 pieces, all that adds up QUICK and you’ll still have less than acceptable results if you sprint for the $1ea 15 position socket rails. It’s a lot for one person so it would be awesome to touch base people who have the same set!

I don't own a 3d printer nor am I capable of design, but it could be possible to print rails that attach magnetically to the vertical mounted plates that you could fit bins onto and slide out like drawers. If you found a more secure attachment method than magnets you could even make wider plates to attach the rails to for larger drawers or use multiple smaller pieces of specific storage that all belong together
Longer arm options for the toolbox arms would make taller compartments possible, and maybe borrowing some of the design concepts from the giant gridfinity piece would strengthen it a bit for use with heavier tools or sets of tools
