I remember that episode of What's Happening when Dwayne started gambling on football games and went on a hot streak. It turned out that he was making his picks based on which team was wearing the coolest looking helmet that game. LOL What's Happening!

I sure miss this TV Show going to have to get the DVD Set ASAP.

The ruptured aneurysm could’ve happened anywhere. If it had happened when he was alone he would’ve died there. He had some warning symptoms but they would’ve been difficult to diagnose as a cerebral aneurysm.
This was another great episode even if it was sad - good topic and plot, I liked how the players voiced their feelings, especially Coolidge.

I was a baller back in the day and loved watching The White Shadow as it somewhat resembled my HS team in L.A.
Since then I’ve treated many patients with cerebral aneurysms who unfortunately are never the same afterwards, but we try to optimize their quality of life nonetheless.

The mother wasn't as forgiving to Reeves but the father acknowledged him that their son experienced joy making the team. It kind of lightened the load off the coach a little bit in an otherwise very sad episode.

When I was in high school, I practiced on my own and went out for basketball every year, but the school team always cut me every year regardless of my performance or the availability of opening. [Years later, the same coach had the thick skin to ask me for financial contributions toward the basketball program]. That was why I watched this show since it allowed me to live a high school basketball life vicariously. But because of this history, this particular episode has a special meaning to me. Like me, Randy did everything he could to achieve a dream, and he almost got there before something beyond his control destroyed it for him. Sad but it is part of life.

@@718ant5 exactly. And it is not like as if they did not have the spot. Every year before that and every year after that that coach kept 15 kids on the team. When it came to my year he cut it to 12. Go figure. Thanks for your support anyway.but you are correct. It could have made a huge difference in my life. Now I just don't want to have anything to do with that high School, including financial contributions.

This was a powerful show, great, but a lot of times at the end, stuff was 'unresolved' it seemed when the credits would come up like we don't know what happened next to resolve that particular issue, like in the episode of 'Me' involving the case of VD involving Thorpe, Reese, and the girl they both dated. All I saw at the end was it seemed like Thorpe and Reese were cool, but you wouldn't know it.
