    I went there last night, theres a cut in the fence so you can actually go onto the street. Its really creepy and it gives off a very strange feeling. For those who want to find the place its located at the intersection of maxwell and victoria road just south of Jubilee park station.

    Hung out a lot here in my childhood in the 90s as I grew up on that street, as did many other kids and teens from Glebe getting up to mischief in the bushes, there was even a pretty elaborate tree house there overlooking the tracks. You’d always find used condoms, bongs etc. around. Before the light rail you could walk through the train tunnel, it was a favourite spot for graffiti and I remember local lads bringing motorbikes on the tracks. Before the Tram Sheds redevelopment it was all open to walk into. The alley by it which is now gated off led to the skate ramp, used to call it Rape Alley. In hindsight it really was a perfect place for a predator. This area really should be cleaned up and utilised, it’s prime land and lots of it.

      I use to use it to access the tram sheds before they were renovated. A great site for photography. The fencing off didn't happen until after the sale the tram sheds site but it doesn't belong to the tram sheds.

    Reg Malvin
    In 2000, a homeless man, Reg Malvin, ignored warnings not to sleep there and was found bludgeoned to death in the grandstand of nearby Jubilee Park. Two years later the body of an Asian man was found floating in nearby Rozelle Bay. Both murders remain unsolved.

    The fenced off area is closed because the soil is toxic from old industry at the site. It's too difficult/expensive to safely remediate the site, so it just sits there fenced off. That said, if you want to explore the embankment, as well as the fenced area, you can get in there from the light rail station, if you don't mind walking along the tracks a short distance.
    In the grandstand there are some dark stains on the wooden benches that look suspiciously like blood. There is a slight depression in the wood, as though someone tried really hard to scrub it out but gave up.

    Great video. I love all your videos. I used to walk home and went past that park. It was a strange and eerie place after dark. I lived up in Ultimo and used to walk up a hill to the flat. Wish I could remember what street. One night walking home and I had a really strange experience which I could never find an explanation for. Thanks for your videos much appreciated.

    I used to walk along that blocked off pathway through the bushes all the time. Always felt weird like I was walking somewhere I shouldn't be. If I had friends with me they would always comment, ask me if it was safe to walk through there. Must admit I didn't feel comfortable walking through there at night.

    I live up the road from it and walk my dog pass there. Everytime I walk pass it gives off a really negative energy. And I have heard what sounded like a child's voice coming from the ditch where they found the bodies I can't say for sure but it definitely sounded like a voice.

    Even Glebe sounds mysterious, if you drag it out Gleeeeebe!
    Reminds me of Truro in South Australia with the strange murders, “Truro Murders” sounded horrifying.

    The three year old was taken from the oval and killed up on Glebe Point Road, nowhere near the Street With No Name.

    There was an area and a backroad behind the oil refinery in altona western suburbs of melbourne that wasnt a very safe place for kids to hang out and that was the altona pines scout camp ground and the scrub around it and where the ford goes over koroit creek near the grandstand ruins of the old williamstown racecourse. Someone found a dead body of a female cut up in a plastic bag jambed under the ford crossing over that creek in 1983 and one just late last year under the new overhead railbridge that passes over koroit creek road through mobiltown and both murders still remain unsolved. I grew up in altona in the 70s and 80s and even though it was one of the best suburbs to live in on the city fringe ot had its dark places that were no go and unsafe as well as sydney did and what i mentioned as above was only one of many dark ,dinjy ,eiry unsafe places to hang out.

      Underestimating the speed of the locomotive

    • @UrSammich
      @UrSammich 5 років тому +3

      Probably not estimating the speed, not hearing it time and possibly didn't see it since it was night and most locomotive's only have the front light on the train. There could be a few various reasons.

    I use to work at the Nags head Hotel and in the 80,s many homeless and drug addicts use to hang at Jubilee Park. Under the aquaducts. It was pretty feral back then before glebe become super trendy.

    Interesting I have only one comment after watching this.It would not be all that difficult to breech the fences if one had a mind to do so.Also at 4:40 the slide bolt does not have a padlock on it
