  • This poem is based on Sophokles' tragedy: "Antigone"
As always, please let me know what you think!
For anyone who doesn't know the original story, here a short recap:
Antigone's brother Polynices was killed in a fight over the throne of Thebes and Creon, the king and her uncle, forbids her to bury him, as Polynices tried to claim the throne himself. Aware of the consequences, Antigone buries her brother anyways. As a punishment she is to be buried alive inside a cave.
After a long discussion, Creon is finally persuaded to save her. But by then it's too late -- Antigone has hung herself.
    Song: Nick Mulvey - April
    Poem:
    Do you have a heart?
    Oh Creon i ask
    Do you have a heart?
For her’s lies buried somewhere underground
    where it should not lie
    and she’s aware of that
she recognises the gravity her violation holds and what consequences stem from them
    she does
    and even now after everything
she stands behind her actions still
for blood flows thicker than the rivers you have tamed
and brother stays brother despite the treason he commit
so where is your heart Creon, does it lie with her’s or does it stand in line with reason and the laws you wrote
but tell me, what law is right if it is unjust?
and what rules should stay if they serve only you

Odeipus was king of Thebes he died and he had 2 sons 2 daughters and his brother creon who wanted to become kings so he killed Odeipus brothers and didnt let Thebes bury them so Antigone buried so when Creon her uncle found out he was mad and set her to execution but Ismene didnt want to be alone so she took fault but idk if she was arrested and they imprisoned antigone to a cave before execution and she hanged herself there.
