Referring to a bunch of brown eyeshadow singles as "mushroom tones" is just the kind of causal poetic elegance we have come to expect from this channel.
They're called mushroom because of the high amount of black and white pigments making them look grayish. It's not poetry, it's hues. Lunar Beauty has a whole palette of mushroom colors.
I click on these videos so fast, thank you for another high quality video! Your declutters are so RUTHLESS, but I love hearing your opinion on everything, whether you keep the item or not. Can't wait to see how you do with lip products, I'd struggle the most there myself.
So pleased to see you once again! I am a newer convert and am beyond thrilled to see an unseen tutorial (as I have watched and rewatched older videos to death, and continue to love them). Again so pleased to reconnect w/ you
Couldnt have clicked on this video any faster!! We missed you so much, so happy to see a new upload :) LOVE your declutters and your cheerful personality as always~
I've saved this video for a night where i am particularly exhausted, as my own little special treat, and i am half asleep typing this but i must!!! I absolutely adore your collection and it's such a balm to my heart whenever you say that you're going to give the makeup new homes instead of simply throwing them away ❣️❣️❣️ Sending you hugs and hugs and hugs ❣️❣️❣️
Hi Karima!! What a walk down memory lane! I decluttered so many palettes in the last 2 years: the ABH Modern Renaissance (I kept the Soft Glam), the UD Naked palettes (I kept the 1st one because my sister bought it for me, it was my 1st palette ever, still had the velvet case), the Too Faced palettes (I still have the Peach and the original Chocolate bar). My most used palettes are the Natasha Denona I need a nude palette, the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill (a staple), the ABH Soft Glam. I'm getting rid of the Natasha Denona Glam palette next, I don't have enough use out of it unfortunately! I like single eyeshadows like the Sephora metallic and eyeshadow sticks like the Laura Mercier or the Bobbi brown. I like an everyday one step and done!
This was incredible - such a beautiful collection. Have you ever done a tour of your neutral toned single shadows in the custom palettes? Some of those tones really speak to me and I’d love to know the shades!
late to the game (i save your videos for a n emotional rainy day). i remember your love for champagne wishes and i almost got it bc of you! i had to remind myself sternly multiple times that i have 4 that i almost never use
I totally agree with the Charlotte Tilbury Stars in Your Eyes palette, particularly the first one. I am finally having my time dipping my toes in palettes and this one has recently became my favorite and go to for how smooth the formulation is.
If you enjoy v warm tones and satiny shadows, you will enjoy the Byredo. I personally have been enjoying the Natasha Denona I need a nude more, but I prefer neutral to cool tones. X
It's Crazy how I have decluttered the opposite formula to you, and preferred the brands you didn't enjoy! Gosh 2016+ was a wild time for palettes lol! Why did we do it
Karima I have missed your videos! So glad to see you back. Love the eye look on you, it’s stunning! Can you please recreate for us. Would love to try this for a wedding I have to attend ❤🙏🏼
Really happy she kept the Huda Amethyst palette, the looks she created with that one is one of my favorites of all time and this is one of the few palettes I completely panned, I wish Huda would bring it back.
Most of my makeup is technically expired. I honestly just use a tacky eyeshadow primer and apply the shimmers wet. It doesn’t irritate my eyes or skin, so why toss it? 🤷♀️
My favorites are Gold shades, nudes and a bit of coralls. I love shimmer but also matt. Most important thing that they are buttery☺️ I also like mashroom and mauve shades. Feel free to mention 2 palletes. Thank you so much, greets from italy💗
Too faced eyeshadow palettes (chocolate bar and sweet peach) are one of my favs still to this day, I always take them when travelling. I know they might not be the best pigmented eyeshadows, but I love the neutrals selection on those two and how efforless they look on the eyes...
Hi Karima, you said you were preparing a sunscreen video, so I had to write you. I own and have often used the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen and I like it but there is an even better one. It is also Korean, rest assured it has gone through the "double testing for UVA and UVB rating verification following the Korean sunscreen scandal, it is made by a company called GOODAL and is called "GOODAL CALMING SUNCREAM". It's a little cheaper than Joseon, smells like air (no smell at all), does not irritate my skin or eyes at all, it is just like a beautiful elegant very light moisturizer. Here's why I prefer it over Joseon, it is a touch less "glossy"... it is much closer to a non detectable satin finish, and that is the finish I prefer. I think sometimes the content creators on You Tube slightly lose touch with reality when reviewing sunscreens. They will often describe a sunscreens finish as "glowy" or "luminous" and they go on and on about how "beautiful" that finish is. Those of us functioning in the real work world would be a laughing stock if we showed up to work with those sunscreens on. You Tubers will call a finish "glowy or "luminous" when 99% of average people would call it "oily" , "shiny" or "greasy". Bosses in professional work settings would not take kindly to an employee looking like that. I work in an office that has floor to ceiling windows, I NEED to wear sunscreen, UVA rays completely penetrate glass and I want to fight against that sun damage, but I can't be having my co workers saying, "What the hell has she got on her face?" I have yet to find the perfect undetectable sunscreen but by God they are getting better and better. Thank God for Korean sunscreens, ours here in America are absolutely horrible! NO ONE on You Tube is talking about GOODAL CALMING SUNCREAM and I'm so very afraid that if someone doesn't start talking about it I'm going to go online one day to place my usual 3 tube order and it's going to be discontinued. It's cheaper than Joseon and even closer to the perfect "invisible" finish we all dream of. Please please please try it and please please please mention it in your video. It is hands down the best one out there. I've watched you for years and just love you, you're the best! Thank you, Catherine.
You are great. Aren't you worried that some of these palettes are too old to use? I ignore the 12 month thing but usually give up on them after 3 years!
I was wondering throughout the video how you could bear to part with so much but then as we get to the small palettes and singles i realized it was like leaving room for dessert
What is it with eyeshadow?!? I know I don’t need anymore but I find it so hard not to buy a nice quad or small palette with neutral, sparkly, glittery shadows 🙃 love that you could so easily part with these things!! I must learn to do the same.
Thank you for this Karina!!! I’ve missed this series. As a long time follower, I was playing along trying to figure out which you’d keep (of course you kept the viesart nudes). Saw so many old favourites too that brought back memories, including cognac sable! I rmb that blog post titled “if money were no object” or something similar to that, and you featured the cognac sable and cocoa mirage. I believe that was the post that convinced me to purchase cocoa mirage and i continue to love that palette today. Do you have any recommendations for a dupe of the viesart nudes btw? I have found that after all these years, there are still only 2 palettes on the market that are all matte and have a good range of cool and warm shades that can work on any skin tone (namely the viesart and the KVD)
Wow! You have been around these parts for a long time ❤️ Thank you so much for watching. I like the Charlotte Tilbury Super Nudes for a similar purpose to the Viseart Nudes. Less shades, slightly more luminous formula, both are fab.
@@karimamckimmie Thanks for the reply! Indeed, have been around for a long time and always happy with a new upload from you :) You’ve enabled many purchases for sure over the years.
Karima I was watching your foundation declutter and noticed you didn’t have the about face foundation Girl you will love it They have olive undertones Every day wear Probably satin I’d say Long wearing for my normal skin affordable Like I’m 100% sure you will love it I also noticed you didn’t try the new MUFE hydra ? So goooooodddd
Oh wow. You are so brave! I need to do this too. I now, know what I really enjoy, and what I don't reach for. You have inspired me! Ok, wish me luck. I'll let you know how it goes. 👍🏼👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙏🏼😳
Have been watching Karima for many many years and am always excited for a new video because I know content and quality will be PERFECTION. 100/10. So what’s going on here? Speak is much slower, slurring words, missing words, banter gone, dropping products, the video is cut in a way that I feel like we’re missing content. Something just feels very off and uncharacteristic to the quality that has been delivered for years and years,
I might have misunderstood you but please dont give away makeup thats over 2 years old. Even if you didnt use it a lot, it is expired and puts the new user at risk.
Powders do not harbour bacteria in the same way that liquids do Milk that said it expires 2 days ago can often be totally fine no smell no off taste do you still throw it away despite it showing no signs of rancidity? there are some easy tests to discern whether or not something has gone bad. Often when there are expiry dates on things it’s due to the manufacturer only testing is for say 12 or 24 months and then the tests or trails stop
@nonononono47 Powder makeup of all types regularly come in contact with oils from skin, which increases the ability to harbor bacteria and the possibility of the oil going rancid. You are correct that powder and liquid do act differently (liquid having traditionally a max of 12 months) but both put you at risk past the expiration date. The tests done on makeup ends at a certain time because that's when the preservatives break down. When companies see that the preservatives break down, that's when they have to say that the same safety isn't there because that's when the preservatives can no longer be guaranteed to keep bacteria at bay and the ingredients as not breaking down as well. You are correct that it might not be an immediate issue but you are then gambling with your health and the gambling gets worse the longer you hold onto the item and the more the ingredients break down. Milk is preserved in different ways but the people who do the testing label the expiration date for when they know the milk can start to grow bacteria after the effects of the preservation method have expired. Milk that tastes and smells fine can still give you food poisoning.

@sleepyheadsarah Commenting on the subject is the kind of elegant subscriber this channel deserves 🥰

Would love to see an update on your “one last chance” pile in a couple months
Absolutely! It’s on the list! X
I love the intro to these series. When my husband complains about the size of my makeup collection, I play it to him for perspective. 😂
I click on these videos so fast, thank you for another high quality video! Your declutters are so RUTHLESS, but I love hearing your opinion on everything, whether you keep the item or not. Can't wait to see how you do with lip products, I'd struggle the most there myself.

Can you make the video on your gorgeous mushroom tone eyeshadow palette?? I'm sort of obsessed with that.
i still have the naked smoky palette that u sent me when i was younger 😭😭 the beginning of my love for cool tones
Couldnt have clicked on this video any faster!! We missed you so much, so happy to see a new upload :) LOVE your declutters and your cheerful personality as always~
i wish you showed us the full collection before and after at the end
Maybe when the entire declutter series is done?
This is enough flatlays for a lifetime, really 😅

Good times ❤️
So i ran out and bought that Revlon quad. You were right that duo heone is beautiful and unmatched! I like the other colors too! Thank you❤
I really like your makeup in this video! This is fun watching you go through all your eye shadows!
miss you here, would love to see your current make up collection :)
I declutter out of date makeup and have now restocked.
13:05 With the proper tools, you should be able to bend the clap so it is wider or tighter depending on the needs to make it close again.
Might enlist my boyfriend for this one 😅
Ahhhh making me want that byredo palette 🥹🥹 especially since ND no longer sells their metropolis palette!
If you enjoy v warm tones and satiny shadows, you will enjoy the Byredo. I personally have been enjoying the Natasha Denona I need a nude more, but I prefer neutral to cool tones. X

So many palettes about to turn 10 years old in my collection lmaoooo 😂😅
I also spend hours rearranging my singles and depotted products, it scratches my ADHD brain just in the right place.
Zoeva eclectic eyes palette belongs to my top 5 palettes! Your collection wow i never tried hourglass pots but now definetely i will try it. 💙
Karima, how I love you! Thanks for this inspiration to organize and get rid of some eyeshadows.
Thank you for watching ❤️
What eyeshadows are you wearing in the video?
Seriously I really need to know.
Karima I have missed your videos! So glad to see you back. Love the eye look on you, it’s stunning! Can you please recreate for us. Would love to try this for a wedding I have to attend ❤🙏🏼
Really happy she kept the Huda Amethyst palette, the looks she created with that one is one of my favorites of all time and this is one of the few palettes I completely panned, I wish Huda would bring it back.
are there any gold eyeshadow or silver eyeshadow? they are my fav shadows
Gotta do a full-face "one last chance!"
How do you deal with makeup that is expired? can you make a video on it?
Most of my makeup is technically expired. I honestly just use a tacky eyeshadow primer and apply the shimmers wet. It doesn’t irritate my eyes or skin, so why toss it? 🤷♀️
I love your taste in make up, you made me addicted to hourglass, no other blushes will do
Love this one..if you had to recommend only 1 pallete to a person who can not affort too much stuff..which one would you recommend?
Totally depends on what you like!
My favorites are Gold shades, nudes and a bit of coralls. I love shimmer but also matt. Most important thing that they are buttery☺️
I also like mashroom and mauve shades. Feel free to mention 2 palletes. Thank you so much, greets from italy💗
Yay someone else who doesn’t rate Pat McGrath palettes! I had the same 2 large ones and gifted them.
It's been a hot minute since I have visited your channel and guess what I have been doing😂 decluttering.
loving your video as always!

Did you ever try out the YSL clutch shadow quads?
Please, similar video with lipsticks and lipglosses 😍
Can you please make a video on your neutral free form palette with swatches?
I would love to know what’s in your favorite curated palette.
Miss you!
You are great. Aren't you worried that some of these palettes are too old to use? I ignore the 12 month thing but usually give up on them after 3 years!
Some of them will have to be tossed sadly :(
But wherever possible, I donate and gift.
I was wondering throughout the video how you could bear to part with so much but then as we get to the small palettes and singles i realized it was like leaving room for dessert
Haaaa i feel light, less clutter and the space more room to enjoy what the latest that we keep.

Girl you will love it
They have olive undertones
Every day wear
Probably satin I’d say
Long wearing for my normal skin
affordable
Like I’m 100% sure you will love it
I also noticed you didn’t try the new MUFE hydra ? So goooooodddd
Do you ever make videos using the one last chance items?
We will do! X
It will be much easier if the choice was made based on expiration date.
If you had made this twice as long I would still have watched it all 😊
Too kind ❤️ We have more episodes coming! X
also feel underwhelmed by Pats matte formulas. her quads do a bit better than the larger palettes
Oh wow. You are so brave! I need to do this too. I now, know what I really enjoy, and what I don't reach for. You have inspired me! Ok, wish me luck. I'll let you know how it goes. 👍🏼👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙏🏼😳
I miss Marc Jacobs Beauty every day 😩
🌸
LOL. I have only 1 Palette (Pacifica - Animal Magic palette) and 5 individual eyeshadows and find it excessive :)

A lot of your makeup is old and out of date, no longer available. Clean it out every two years is the recommendation
