  • In October of 2008, a Qantas Airlines Flight 72 was carrying 315 people to Perth in Australia 37,000 feet in the sky when it suddenly began to pitch downwards.
The pilots had lost control of the malfunctioning aircraft which seemed to have a mind of its own, and it was fast becoming a game of chance as the plane violently plunged towards the Indian Ocean.
This is the shocking story of Qantas’ worst-ever accident which had hundreds on-board believing that it was the end.

I’m always amazed by the number of people that take off their seatbelts while the plane is flying, they’re potentially dangerous to myself and others around them. If you don’t understand why we wear seatbelts stay home!!!

There is NO Computer Drive or Software capable of better Judgement .. than 2 Diligent, well Trained Pilots !
Despite many wondrous benefits of Automatic flight systems .. Pilot & Copilot should Together be Given Authority & Technical Means to Over-Ride all Automatic systems ( if they so decide ) .. & just Fly the Plane !

I stay buckled in flight unless I need the facilities.

Pilots should always have the option of total manual control. One switch to get total isolation from ANY computers from the controls if something goes wrong. If that option was available, the pilot would have landed smoothly and the passengers wouldn’t even know there was a problem.

You can have a life time of flight hours but when the paw paw hits the fan it still remains a problem

How to test automated flight equipment, without actually flight-testing in an aircraft? Think of the time and money that could be saved.
Unfortunately, that goal seems to recede as soon as we approach.
Even airline test pilots wear helmets.

Now that's very interesting Airbus had a system failure and they fixed it but Boeing had a system failure with their 737 but never fixed it

Check out the current state and development history of the space capsule Starliner built by Boeing with NASA. Shoddy workmanship and corner-cutting just like everything else they turn out. In a freakin' spacecraft ffs !
      If it's built by Boeing
      It's down you're going.

This news is rather unfortunate because when I take flights as soon as the plane levels off I congregate with my friends at the back of the plane and celebrate drinking rum & coke, gin & sprite
