Brilliant... detailed discussion on an approach and method of decision making (fundamentals). Thank you Prableen & Swati Ma'am for creating this video. I am sure lots of investors will get benefitted from it.
Thank you mam to both of you for making a video on my question. Beautifully explained by Prableen mam with regards to time horizon. I understand that a good active fund can be picked for 7 year horizon but for 18-20 year horizon it is very difficult to be in a single or two active funds and expect them to outperform. High AUM, fund manager change etc will effect every Active smallcap fund and then it may start hugging index or even underperform index. Switching is also not easy due to taxation, so even an active investor cannot do that every 3-4 years jumping in funds. Also Expense ratio of active smallcap funds is more. All factors included a smart Beta smallcap index fund will remain in top quartile of all smallcap funds (active + passive). For further diversification beyond smallcap 250 we can add Microcap 250 in slight allocation in portfolio. Regards to both. 🙏🏼
In 5 years return nifty 250 small cap investment, 40% actively managed funds have out performed passive fund means, this means just close your eyes and buy passive smart beta funds or ETFs for long term 💞💞💞💞 This is how developed countries investments are moving to passive fund from active funds Expense ratio is other benefit of passive funds
Small cap 250, micro cap 250,Midsmall 400 momentum 100 ,Alpha or Momentum ETF enough.sure you can manage 10x returns in the 10 years with peace of mind
Yes, surely in the long time horizon of 10 years or more passive small cap funds will beat active small cap funds, provided small cap funds are restricted to invest in 251-500 companies. If active funds are allowed to invest in 501-750th microcap companies as it is done, then active small cap funds may beat passive small cap funds.
True Advisor will always give unbiased advice be it Active or Index fund as per client's requirements and time horizon unlike MF distribution or agents who prefer advising Active funds for want of commission

Better to go for passive or index funds for small and micro cap funds if horizon is more than 7 years
Wrong dr. sahab active funds generate more returns than index..look at the history.
