@@tilaunc I would pay to see this concert in you tube video the best concert ever live of average white ... that bass solo and rhythmic guitar is fabulous !!!!! , am surprised there is any video record of this concert so weird !!!
The BEST GROOVE OF ALL TIME!! Thank you Alan, Hamish, Robbie, Onnie, Roger, Molly and Steve! CLASSIC JAM!! I saw them live in Dayton, Ohio - Hara Arena - summer of 1976! I was unbelievable folks!
I was at this Concert in Cleveland Ohio when they were recording this l.p. they jammed!!! One of The Best Concerts I ever been too! Needless to say my mind was completely blown and so was everyone else Funkiest White Group Ever if you don't dance to them u are dead!!
The bass player here gives a such unique dimension !! all are genius musiciens !!! That rythmic guitare solo is awesome !!! He s doing impro with chords only is fantastic !!! Then we have the solo guitar which is more classical approach of a solo guitar !! Then the talking bass solo !!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩gosh I did train to play that solo of bass
Back in the 60/70's I heard them on Detroit Smooth Jazz and the Dj said" he'd been playing them for weeks thinking they were a hot black band. He said he didn't believe they were a band from Scotland and there wasn't a 'brother' in the group. I laughed because most music from Scotland was bagpipes
Back in the days when bands could expand their performances for 10, 20 or more minutes (The End by the Doors, Get ready by Rare Earth, Papa don´t take no mess by James Brown, On Broadway by George Benson, Take Five by Al Jarreau etc etc ...) because they did not need studios where everything is dubbed and dubbed and dubbed again until it fits ...... glad to be from the fifties and witnessed all of them from the start
@@lizpedano1542 yes, you're right! Those musician (and there are still so much of them) actually really controlled their instruments and did not depend on studio equipment etc .... 👍
@@Kassiusday I wrote a long in depth response, then somehow dropped the ball and lost it? The point is, that Ferrone is as good a drummer as you'll find out there. He's awesome, period. Go checkout my Robbie McIntosh playlist and compare the AWB groove in the first 3 videos to ANY performance since. It should be obvious that Robbie brought another dimension to his playing. It's a million subtle things he does that's from his heart. It can't be taught. A few other drummers have brought similar magic to their groups, but NONE on the level Robbie did. Robbie elevated AWB from a great band to Legendary. Since '75, AWB has been a great band, but they'll never stand out from the other greats as they did when Robbie was alive.
+kandau elliot This is their 'live' album Person to Person. Only thing missing that would make it complete (to me) is 'A love of your own'. They could have replaced 'Heard it thru the Grapevine' with that and this would be a 'Classic'.
One of the best live albums and performance of all times.
Actually this is THE best piece of live-jazzfunk ever.... ;-)
I still have this album

The drummer was fantastic !!!! He left us too early !!
@@Kassiusday Don't get it twisted. Steve Ferrone a great drummer, but this is NOT Robbie McIntosh. Robbie wouldn't play that stiff on his worst day.
