My wee sister loved this so much. Always got it played on a night out...we buried her on Friday at 42. I know she'll be bopping it out in heaven ❤️❤️❤️❤️
i'm 53 now. so when this was out I was about 30. in the 30 before then, and the 23 years since then, I can swear that I have never experienced anything that can come close to the experience of those times. of course it was the tunes, the pills, but without you (my brothers and sisters who are reading this and experienced the same) those times wouldn't have happened. thank you all - i loved you all back then, and I still love you all now!
Life will never be the same again as it was in the 90s. I know every generation thinks theirs was the best but being a teenager and the right age for the rave scene really was special. There is nothing like it now and wont be again. I met some crazy people in fields amd clubs all over the country. Ended up back strange peoples houses chatting shit until the sun came up. I lost a few brain cells along the way but pretty much still in one piece and would go back there in a heartbeat and do it all again if I could.
Today’s generation will think chatting shit means just sat there talking about all sorts until the sun came up what they don’t know is it means 2 or more people locked into a conversation straight out of an asylum, real crazy shit that made no sense at all then all ov a sudden you would snap out of it and be like what the fuck where we just talking about! Funny crazy orgasmic rushing times. I wouldn’t swop the memory’s for a million pounds

Beerdy - Bruce Lee Central With all the relentless bullshit pop like Drake and Eminem that keeps being promoted by the music industry, this actually sounds even better nowadays.
The ultimate example of a well-realised rave anthem.Electric stabs, immense & rushy piano, punchy breakbeat and a killer main vocal/chopped vocal hooks. Timeless.
@scottwatson234 not sure about cartoons, but the women were better, they never had dicks, the beers were cheap, the pills and beak was better. The music, was better. The fashion was better. Life was better in the 90s.
Sorry for your loss Lauren.Your Dad obviously had great taste in music. When my Dad passed his funeral song choice was very unconventional but he stated before passing "at my funeral I want you to celebrate my life, not mourn my death". He'd even wrote jokes to be read out about him passing away,a fun guy who even had us laughing at his funeral.
What a song! Can understand why it means so much to people who have lost someone so close. I always play this after a night out time and time again and just let my head go with the flow. Love it, I’m old school and not only is the lead singer stunning but the song and lyrics are superb.x
I've got to be honest I'm not sure there is a more euphoric & uplifting song/video pairing out there. Dancing, fireworks and limos, just having an unapologetically good time. I was just a kid in the mid 90's too young for the rave scene, still I could not have asked for a happier, more innocent and naively optimistic decade in which to grow up. If like me you sometimes feel like despairing in 2020 with the way the world is heading with the polarized politics and Covid, please don't. We will find a way back to the carefree times this song celebrates. We have been there before, we will get there again.
Nearly 2023 and this is still one of my all time favourites. Kelly was a phenomenal singer at her peak. The video is amazing as well, N-Trance looked like they were having so much fun. The fireworks are symbolic because this song blows the roofs off whenever it comes on.
I lost my ex boyfriend to cancer he was only 16 I was 14 we were still so close when he passed , this song was one of his faves and it played at his funeral! It was his 30th birthday yesterday! Fly high Jake 🕊️❤
He had great taste in music,😊 and im sure whenever you hear this song it brings him back alive in your memories people don't truly die if we remember them there with us forever ❤
This is one of the most powerful songs I’ve ever heard, it has so much energy I love it 🔥🔥 & Kelly Llorenna is gorgeous. Surprised tik tok hasn’t found this classic yet
Most people have got it wrong. This song was first released in 1993, then re-released in 1994, then re-released again in January 1995. I distinctly remember because my mum and dad bought a pub in '93' and we had this playing all the time.
This song is a classic. Still sounds great. I'll be 39 before Christmas (Born in December 1984) and it was such an iconic song throughout my childhood and my life. Got my first kiss to this song. There is no other song that brings back memories like this one. Such a feel good, happy and moving song which will never grow old. We need more songs like this 90's classic. Much love everyone ❤🎉🤪
I was lucky enough to be on the club scene in the 90s. What a MASSIVE this was back then everyone was playing it over and over and it's still a giant song now!!!!!
I remember reading back in the day that this one of the cheapest music videos ever made. Like, $100 dollars for the limo, and it aligned with one of the greatest dance tracks in history ❤
This song makes me think of my mum she allways played this when she was cleaning up its been 16 years since she passes I'm now 31 i allways get choked up a bit listening to this absolute classic
Unlike for many others here, it seems, the 90s were far from a happy time in my life..... but the music still resonates - it was my release from the gloom in my life back then - Set You Free encapsulated my feeling of hope that I'd escape one day, and I did... Still love this song now
I’m a 90s baby and this song sits so close to my heart. I love all this kind of stuff! Even the early 2000s and secondary school was a whole different vibe to now! I miss it all
First tune that set me on the path of many happy years of raving. 45 now and still love these tunes. Met so many wicked ppl over those years many of whom I still class as my very best friends ❤
I don't know if anyone feels like me, but although I get very nostalgic watching my old teenage music like this, I always see comments about the best times people had back then, but instead i can't help when watching these old videos feeling a little sad, as I could never seem to grab and seize life when I was young, there just slways seemed to be too many problems going on, it often makes me sad looking back. Am I alone here?
These times are so gloomy, yet this song has always been so uplifting and reminds me of a better place. I’m 48 loved this tune as much back in the day as I do now. Powerful, iconic and still punchy, pure talent. Let there be peace 🙌🏻
Still makes the hairs stand up on my back listening to this track. Just so powerful and monumental. 90s easily produced some of the best dance tracks ever!
I prefer the variant of the opening at 3:02 with the party sounds and air horns. It just gives and instant flashback to all the bittersweet ol' days (nights) that'll never come back.
Everything is in this song. Nostalgia. Catchiness. Rave. Culture and values of that time. I don't know if anyone who was born NOT around the 90's, actually listens to it as often as I do. But I... Every 3 months I get this feeling out of nowhere: "oh my god, I wanna listen to that Set You Free song. Right Now...". And I listened to this song every so often for my entire life. I'm from 1988, and in 1995 I was 7 years old, so yeah. My entire life was accompanied with this song.
This came out when I was 11. It was on one of my 'Now That's What I Call Music' CDs. I'm now coming up on 40 and out of nowhere the "Oh-oh yeah, ah-ah oh yeah" refrain popped into my head and I spent the morning tracking it down. This song!! Banger.
I used to love this as a 13 year old kid, I remember being totally impressed by the fireworks and instantly fell in love with Kelly Llorenna when I saw the video on MTV Europe for the first time. Good old days, fantastic memories :)
Take me back. I'd rather have no social media and the hate that came with it. When politics was relatively normal and there was some love and some hope. We gotta stop the hate and start loving.
I've mentioned this before, but fuck me the intro is just pure spine tingling I get goosebumps when the melody fades in and the air horns start going off. Not a single hair on my arms or on the back of my neck isn't stood up 😂 so glad I was born 1990 so I grew up with the absolute best music 🙌🏴💙
They from Oldham? I was at the bonfire night fireworks display at Clifford's Tower in York where part of this video was filmed.. in 1994 I think? Yeah I was 14 so it must be. I do remember seeing some filming commotion going on out front but never thought much of it. Then a few months later I saw this video on The BOX music channel and I was shocked! 😂
I was traveling on a coach the other day listening to the radio on my headphones when this came on. It had been raining and grey, the sun came out and this reminded me of times when people had fun and did not have social media and mobile phones and all the other crap we have these days. We had actually went out and lived for the moment. Instead of taking photos and texting people telling them about the moment.
My wee sister loved this so much. Always got it played on a night out...we buried her on Friday at 42. I know she'll be bopping it out in heaven ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I do remember seeing some filming commotion going on out front but never thought much of it. Then a few months later I saw this video on The BOX music channel and I was shocked! 😂
Golden era of MUSIC ❤
I was traveling on a coach the other day listening to the radio on my headphones when this came on. It had been raining and grey, the sun came out and this reminded me of times when people had fun and did not have social media and mobile phones and all the other crap we have these days. We had actually went out and lived for the moment. Instead of taking photos and texting people telling them about the moment.
Get you man. Ahhhhh
