At a guess, I would say that what's happening here is that the Mother has experienced a (or possibly several) very severe trauma(s).
Most likely her brother's death.
Family members appearing to people (hallucinations) after they die is something that happens to a LOT of people in grief.
The difference is that most people seek therapy or find some other, healthy way to rationally deal with the irrational they are experiencing.
She, however, has decided to accept it as real, which was the first stepping stone towards gearing her entire life around this lie.
Now imagine that you live alone with this woman.
She is your mother.
And every time you try to convince her (or just mention) that her brother is actually dead for good (without an afterlife or similar), or that some part of a different trauma of hers is not accurate, she gets insanely angry at you [this is evidenced by the continual putting down of her daughter (e.g. 15:10), pretending not to hear her and the ease of flippancy where anger is involved (20:53)].
I think most people would cave under that pressure. The act of which was the first stepping stone for the daughter.
However, I am still left confused by the emotions the mother shows.
The over-enthusiastic laughing, crying (17:58) and weird repetitions (14:06) begs a lot of unanswered questions. My only theory is that she has become so disconnected from reality and other people (she said herself that they deliberately live as far away from civilisation as possible and she didn't recognise many of the social-media/entertainment industry references) that what constitutes a normal emotional response for her has become extremely skewed.
But I could be wrong, it might all be an act so they can charge freaking $70/hour!
The crying at 17:58 supports that. I've studied acting and I would say with ~95% certainty that she is acting there. Poorly.
But the anger at 20:53 does not. Adopting that anger (and at other points throughout the video) came way easy to her than sadness did. She's practised that. A lot. Which I would argue implies that this is all trauma-based because if she IS in some kind of denial, then she is has no reason to be sad often as she's denying the thing to be sad about fully happened, whereas she has every reason to be angry often when someone disagrees with that denial. Thus, she's more practised in anger, which we see here.
TL;DR: Trauma.

There's literal evidence of her mother restricting her from doing anything on her own, cutting her off from friends, making her move, etc. She's crying when she's talking about moving, and from just basic body language, that's not from happiness. I think it's very reasonable to have authorities look into it. I've seen child abuse cases carry onto into adulthood JUST like this, specifically where religion is involved.

A welfare check or two, for Jaime to speak to someone for herself and not be spoken for by her mom, wouldn't be the end of the world.

Furthermore, it's downright moronic to think that there is anything that could even be done. They are consenting adults. So long as physical abuse isn't going on and they are both of the mental capacity to consent, this is an entirely willful relationship. They are both legally considered adults. You are basically proposing that we report people to the authorities for the relationships that they choose to participate in. It's like reporting someone for being into BDSM. There is a reason that cults aren't illegal.
Also, "literal evidence"? Bullshit. Try submitting a youtube video as evidence in a court of law. This isn't "literal evidence". This is anecdotal evidence at best. It's ok, though. I wouldn't expect a 17 year old to have a very well cultivated understanding of legal systems. When you're young, you tend to think there is a system that can fix every perceived problem. The issue, of course, is that people have the freedom to practice lifestyles that other people may consider problematic. And they shouldn't be reported for that... because that is part of their pursuit of happiness.
I'll tell you this much, though. With 13 years of psych schooling and a psych career behind me, Jamie is in on all of this. The crying at the end doesn't come off as fear or uncertainty... it comes off as a put on. In body language, tonality, dress, and vocal gait, it all comes off as a theatrical performance. The kind a person gives when they want sympathy. I see it regularly when patients want me to help them vindicate their actions and addictions. Those aren't the eyes of the grieving. Those are manipulative eyes.
Well of bloody course it would be awkward. But the risk is worth it if she IS in that situation.
Taking shit you find online seriously and doing something about it with likeminded people is a source of how some shit gets done, so not really moronic.

One where she told Wubby he reminded her of a friend she had and the other then Wubby slurpped the water and she smiled. The rest was brainwash Jamie. I think part of why she was emotional when pulling the 'trama strand' from Wubby was her realizing she is doing this sham to another person and putting on a show. I hope she get back to her old self, she seemed so cute and funny before now.

Both suffer from shared delusions, hallucinations, and irrational thoughts. I’m positive that these two suffer from the condition.
15:00 is one part that really stood out to me. Jamie says something to basically add a little bit to what Lynn was saying, but Lynn doesn't fully understand what Jamie was trying to say. Jamie hears the sudden lack of reassurance and asks if she's said something wrong. (Immediate red flag) Lynn laughs and says "I'm listening to Archangel Gabriel" basically telling Jamie her words are coming from a higher power than Jamie can't really understand. Jamie laughs and agrees and says "Yeah, because hes still (has she lost the privilege) talking to you and he's super embarrassed, I know" which I think is referring to Gabriel being embarrassed of Jamie for misinterpreting his words. A ton of top notch manipulators in there that would definitely wear down on a person in a lot of really deep ways all in the span of about 15 seconds.

I went into this video with a smile on my face expecting some goofs and laughs. But now, I can’t look at Jamie the same. I can barely watch the actual footage, it's that amazing. EDIT: ngl, these are probably the most grounded crazies I've ever seen. Like, maybe not grounded...but self-aware? And it's not like the mom had some sort of complex where she was the odd ball idiot in the family so she went off and swore off academia; she was a CPA and double majored in chemistry and accounting. It's sad to see Jamie waste her life away seeing how normal she was and, well, still is in many ways #savejamie I'm a year and a half late but she still needs saving.

I was thinking that too when I first saw their video lol, apparently that crazy arm flailing shit they do in the backyard is an efficient form of exercise, i immediately noticed Jamie has pretty toned/strong-looking arms presumably from constantly holding them up like that (& incredibly smooth-looking armpits despite being a weird esoteric hippy lady)

It's really sad, the mom is doing this for two reasons:
1. Notice how she discusses her family? She was a CPA and they were all doctors n stuff, she desperately wanted to feel important, and communicating with angels gave her that.
2. The trauma with her brother definitely was a trigger moment.

I don't necessarily think that's true. The mom seems like a nice old lady who means well I think her efforts are just misguided. It's not like Jamie was indoctrinated as a child, Wubby showed that she was a normal person a few years ago while she was still a legal adult. She decided to do this herself even if she was encouraged by her mother. The mother and Jamie also just seem really close. I'm not saying that there relationship is perfect, it seems to have some obvious problems but Jamie can still make her own decisions.

I know this is over a year old, but as someone whose also lost their brother, The mother ISN'T dealing with her grief at all. Theres a difference between being spiritual, and denying the grief, and she's pulling Jaime down with her. I hope Jaime gets out, she's being controlled and it breaks my heart.

Nah people can make come backs. I had a buddy who had a 2 year schizophrenic breakdown they put him on Prozac and he put himself in better social situations and he’s better than he was before. It’ll all work out for Jamie and her mom hopefully

So, I see my top comment is getting decent traction. I just got out of the shower, and whole time I was in there... How? How did her mom isolate her from her friends and rest of her family and brainwash her? Mom mentioned how her family members are well educated, but scoffed at it.
Do you think Jamie's family members tried saving her from her mother? Did Lynn guilt trip her? Did she move, and take Jamie with her? 5 years ago, she would be 22. Living alone could be scary, if she didn't have well paying job at the time, no support from friends/family, so she followed her mother.

Mental illness typically has a strong genetic component and delusional disorders like schizophrenia typicaly present in an individual's adolescence through their mid-20's... Which seems to match Jaimie's age.

The clip at the end was just so heartbreaking. I don´t know what was going through her mind, but as someone who has been in many different schools and cities in my early childhood, I just know how she feels. When you let go of not only a place but a life in itself, you need something to hold on to or you´re going to lose yourself. I had my mom, which I´m very thankful for in retrospect, and I wish she had something too. When she said the last sentence of this video, I felt that.
