I agree with pretty much all you said, it is a great song, doesn't matter if you love it or hate it, it is still a great song. I happen to love it, I am not surprised at all by this song it is what I have come to expect from them, and that is to push boundaries rather than just to do what everyone else is doing. You could see Su was really enjoying singing this song maybe it is her favourite off the album?
Maybe :D. People are also forgetting that their first album had some metal songs and some more pop like songs. I'm hyped to hear more songs of the new album.

Yeah, i love her vocals too :D I liked the times when we could see the faces of the band. They always added something to the whole performance.
Nice reactiion. I feel this album, concept aside, is highlighting Su-metal's vocals more than anything and possibly more than has been the case in the previous albums - they each had maybe three or four songs that really did that, this one so far every song has done it.
Of the four songs released so far 'Monochrome' is my own favourite. 'Metal Kingdom' and 'Divine Attack' work well together for the concert openers. This one is still growing on me, but I know to wait for the live version.

Nice reaction. It's a good song to me. Lyrically reminds me a bit of Amore. But here the love is between the light and the darkness. You can't have one without the other as they say. Lyrica talks about them moving together. They show this in the choreography. They're very in synch with each other here. Some other things that stand out for me. Moa didn't move to the middle of the formation when she sang her solo lines. Which she did during the tour for the 3rd album. Then there's the close up of Momoko at the start of the video. Put that together with how in synch they are with Momoko and for me It's the biggest hint, yet that Momoko will be announced as the new third member of Babymetal come April. Also, for me this song didn't sound like anime. it sounded like they started with Disco and added the metal in as they went along. Babymetal is still mixing genres. This is the Way. Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.

Su-metal has a beautiful voice.
The "anime vibe" of the mix's emphasis on vocals up front and the instrumentation more in the back is only coincidentally anime. It is classic 1980's J-pop Idol mixing.

I don't remember following your BM journey but is always nice to see BM fans and reactors coming back to hear more of them, this time returning with a more mature sound and a new BM side we've never seen before.
Another lovely ballad with beautiful SuMetal vocals piercing into our hearts. Love the J-pop sound and the nostalgic vibes. Here's some info about this song:

This was a world premiere at Makuhari Messe 2023 setlist, along with "THE LEGEND", Momoko Okazaki is the third backup dancer performing here and possibly the new official member. MoaMetal once again adding the backing vocals and all of them dancing once again with the full trio formation.

Thanks for this reaction, I don't think their is anything wrong with this song. Only 'worry' is that some Babymetal fans might not like this album as much because it's not heavy enough (at least what we've seen so far). So the worry is some fans might drift away over time and if Babymetal doesn't gain enough new fans this would be a problem. When it comes to complexity, the reason complexity of a song is important for: repeatability, listening to Babymetal is lots of fun because you don't easily get bored of them. And this is where the complexity is probably the way they've been able to do this. New songs still need to proof themselves they can do this. One of the important things to remember: fans just want what is best for Babymetal and also they want Babymetal to give them which matches their own preferences. But Babymetal just gonna do what they do and keep surprising us with new styles, I think it's great.
That said: is it less complex ? It's less heavy, that's very true. But less complex... because it's the change up / switch ups which maybe give it the long lasting repeatability.
