in the comics spiderman DOES NOT make the webs from his body through his hand. in the comics the webs come from a device he made. this is the normal way spiderman has webs. however in the Toby spiderman movies (2002), the director chose to make spiderman have the webs come out of his body not a device. this was not supposed to be how the webs work. they were supposed come from a device he made. that was always the correct way. that's why in this movie his webs doesn't come through his body. but I understand the confusion.

Yes but what a wonderful weight loss tactic being able to shoot web. ... and then there's the anatomical question. If he's really like a spider, the webs shouldn't come from his hands...

@MASTER GINGER - The Toby Maguire Spider-Man films are the ONLY Spider-Man movies with the ridiculous webbing being a part of his powers nonsense. In the COMIC BOOKS, the webs were always from web-shooters he built. In the Amazing Spider-Man films and MCU Spider-Man films, they followed THE COMIC BOOK FORMAT, that being the webs are from web-shooters that Peter BUILT. Not that Tobey Maguire nonsense. Got it? Good.

@@GavinBollard No ... not from his hands. Can we just admit, though, that both the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man's ability to shoot webs from his hands, and the regular Spider-Man's incredibly convenient invention of a super-strong, super versitile synthetic web that fits into tiny cartridges that hardly ever run out and seem to cost little or nothing to manufacture, and which he never even thinks about exploiting for monetary gain, on top of an already preposterous origin story about gaining super spider powers from the bite of a radioactive arachnid are utterly ridiculous? Spidey's a comic book superhero, and I love him, but let's not get up on our high unicorn about realism where he's concerned.

    • @GavinBollard
      @GavinBollard 2 роки тому +1

@@oliverbrownlow5615 Realism is the last thing on my mind. Comedy is great though. If we were being realistic, Spider-man would bend over and shoot web from behind him. He'd lose more than half of his body weight after a few webs. Best not to have a mental picture of that.

Peter makes his own webs. It was shown in a scene in science class when he was stirring a beaker. When he lifted the locker and grabbed a jar labeled "web fluid". Also in Civil War Tony made a comment about the webs and Peter also webbed Tony's hand.

lol yes, you are correct! The original Spiderman could climb walls like a spider, and was fast, strong, and agile, but he invented the web-shooters to wear on his wrists. In some of the movies they changed it, so they he naturally shot the webs as part of his power, but original Spiderman had to invent a device to do that.
Edit: Original Spiderman also had his "Spidey-Sense", so he could sense danger around him, like a spider sensing a fly in his web. That power was never clearly explained, but was the excuse why Spiderman could tell where crime was happening, and could go and stop it!
Edit #2: YOU ARE CORRECT AGAIN! That's Michael Keaton playing The Vulture in this movie, one of Spiderman's enemies, but in an old movie, he did play Batman once! Good eye, Marian!

Historically in the comics Peter made his web fluid. It was not organic until he wore the alien symbiote suit that organically created webs. That symbiote eventually became Venom when Peter rejected it for trying to permanently bond with him.

Peter makes his webs in a lab and uses web shooter and cartridges in the comics and in the Amazing SpiderMan movie.
    But in the 2002Spiderman Movie,
Peter shoots the webs from his wrist without wed-shooters.
    So you remember it correctly,
but the 2002 movie isn’t like the comic books,
having webshooters and running out of webbing is normally one of SpiderMan’s biggest limitations...

For those commentors saying that except for the Andrew Garfield movies, Peter always had mechanical web shooters, you're only mostly right. During the Evolve Or Die/ The Other storyline, one of the new abilities he gets after dying is the ability to produce organic webbing. He eventually looses that ability and returns to mechanical webbing but I can't think of exactly when at the moment.
I think I read somewhere that he had organic webs in the movies because someone thought him having powers and being a super-genius was too unbelievable... in a movie about a guy who sticks to walls.

It's always funny how easily movie viewers say someone deserved to die, lol.
Hmm, for some reason I never noticed that little line about the Washignton Monument.. Let's clear all that up shall we:
    From Wikipedia
Construction of the monument finally began three years later in 1848 with the excavation of the site, the laying of the cornerstone on the prepared bed, and laying the original foundation around and on top of the cornerstone, before the construction of its massive walls began the next year. Regarding modern claims of slave labor being used in construction, Washington Monument Historian John Steele Gordon stated "I can't say for certain, but the stonemasonry was pretty highly skilled, so it's unlikely that slaves would've been doing it. The stones were cut by stonecutters, which is highly skilled work; and the stones were hoisted by means of steam engines, so you'd need a skilled engineer and foreman for stuff like that. Tending the steam engine, building the cast-iron staircase inside-that wasn't grunt work. ... The early quarries were in Maryland, so slave labor was undoubtedly used to quarry and haul the stone"[39] Abraham Riesman, who quoted Gordon, states "there were plenty of people who worked as skilled laborers while enslaved in antebellum America. Indeed, there were enslaved people who worked as stonemasons. So the possibility remains that there were slaves who performed some of the necessary skilled labor for the monument."[39] According to historian Jesse Holland, it is very likely that African-American slaves were among the construction workers, given that slavery prevailed in Washington and its surrounding states at that time, and slaves were commonly used in public and private construction.
Gordon's arguments are valid for the second phase (1879-1888) after slavery was abolished, when every stone laid required dressing and polishing by a skilled stonemason. ..."

31:01 I understand the confusion lol. In the comics, Spider-Man always had webshooters. The reason Spider-Man had organic webs in the Sam Rami trilogy was because him and James Cameron wanted his webs to be part of his mutation for the movie. Which is fine, but it kind of destroys his intelligence in my opinion. The only times in the comic he had organic webs was when he gets the black symbiote suit, *Alien goo that shap shifts around his body*, when he turned into Man-Spider and Spider-Man 2099, *Forgot his name, but he's a Mexican Spider-Man.* However, Peter Parker/Spider-Man always used webshooters. Him inventing the technology shows that he has brains and brawn. Regardless, I love all versions of Spider-Man.

🕸️Peter Parker made the webs (via science) that you're seeing in this film.¹ Remember in _Captain America Civil War_ how Tony was amazed by the webbing Peter made.🕸️
Since his first comic in 1962, _Peter_ had always made the web fluid and web shooters that he wore on his wrists. As far as I know, only in the 2002 to 2007 _Sam Raimi_ Spider-Man films 🕷️ does the webbing come out of him organcally. But no other Spider-Man, _before or since,_ had organic web shooters. 🕸️
    Wonderful reaction, _as always._
    Be well! 🙋🏼‍♂️

¹ ─ With the exception of the fancy techno webs from the suit Tony gave him. Otherwise, Pete always made the regular webbing.

    Okay, a little Spider-Man 101:
Since the comic books, Spider-Man has always had mechanical web-shooters he built himself using web fluid he created himself. It was the Sam Rami/Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films who came up with the ridiculous idea to have organic web-shooters. Because this was a lot of people's first exposure to Spider-Man, many assumed that the organic web-shooters were always there. They weren't.

No, Spider-Man webs come from his "web-shooters." Sam Raimi changed that in his 2002-2006 Spider-Man trilogy movies, so I can understand why some people would be confused about that... especially if that was your fist introduction to Spider-Man. but, every other version of Spider-Man since his creation in 1962 has always used "web-shooters." Peter creates the web fluid in a lab... then puts the fluid into these cartridge's which then go into his web-shooters.

Fun fact (as others have said): Michael Keaton was Batman for two movies in the late 80s / early 90s. He's played other roles but many would say those were his biggest movies along with Beetlejuice and his career had slowed since then.
However in 2014 he was in Birdman, playing a washed up actor trying to revitalize his career with a stage play after being a star as the superhero Birdman years before. That was a massive hit with critics (really great movie) and reminded everyone how good Michael Keaton can be, putting him back in the public eye.
Now here he is in Spider-Man (2017) playing another "bird man" (The Vulture) to pretty much everyone's approval and he's back doing more big movies (like upcoming DC stuff again).

Please please PLEASE don't succumb to pandering and start doing all the crap Marvel and DC movies - NONE of them are actually GOOD films, they are the lowest form of "brainless entertainment" duplicated over and over again... Scorsese's comment on them is 100% accurate:
    He said:
"Many of the elements that define cinema as I know it are there in Marvel pictures. What’s not there is revelation, mystery or GENUINE emotional danger … They are sequels in name but they are REMAKES in spirit, and everything in them is OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED because it can’t really be any other way. That’s the nature of modern film franchises: market-researched, audience-tested, vetted, modified, re-vetted and remodified until they’re ready for consumption."
Cinema and franchise movies are not the same thing and I agree with him.

I don't think you know how subjectivity works mate. "Good films" is subjective, now what it does to the industry and the influence they have on production is another thing. Remove the first first of your text and you are making arguments or points. You can like something without liking it's effect. Scorcese for instance has monopoly on gangster and mob movies, pushing out many other indie directors potential which is essentially the same. But I still like his movies.
