  • democracynow.org - The U.S. is intensifying its air war in Afghanistan as U.S. Central Command has announced it is shifting military resources from Iraq and Syria back to Afghanistan, where the United States has been fighting for over 16 years in the longest war in U.S. history. U.S. Air Force Major General James Hecker recently said Afghanistan has “become CENTCOM’s main effort.” The news comes after a particularly bloody period in Afghanistan. Despite the spiraling violence, President Trump recently ruled out negotiations with the Taliban during a meeting of members of the United Nations Security Council. We speak to Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Steve Coll about his new book, “Directorate S: The C.I.A. and America’s Secret Wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan.”

Yes, we're all human. But humans believe in, and carry out good, and bad ideas, values, behaviours etc. If a bunch of dudes showed up in your neighbourhood, and turned it into something like Raqqa, Syria, would you honestly still believe what you wrote?

Yes, to protect Pakistan. Not like Indian R&AW that funds / sponsors terrorists against Pakistani homeland. Afghan government helps them by providing them support and terror training camps that have been used as launching pads for bomb attacks in Pakistan.
Just recently a car bomb blast occurred in Pakistan’s second largest city of Lahore. Fortunately the perpetrators were caught within 24 hours and interrogated. The mastermind of the attack lived in Pakistan and Dubai. He confessed that Indian intelligence agency R&AW
( Research and Analysis Wing ) had funded him to carry out this attack. Pakistan has the money trail with bank accounts of those who funded the attack. He is living in Delhi.
But unfortunately, the western media will never tell its citizens the truth. India has been funding terrorism against Pakistan through the Af-Pak border for over a decade now.
Which is why Pakistan doesn’t want India to continue attacking its territory through proxies.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army chief Gen Qamar Bajwa has claimed that there are no safe havens for terrorists in his country and asked the US to stop blaming Islamabad for its failure in Afghanistan.
Gen Bajwa asked the American leadership to instead search for the reasons for its failures in the war-torn country.
