The Holy Spirit in us gives us a transformed life. Anyone with a strong will can change a habit. But Only the Holy Spirit can transform or CHANGE us. He also LEADS us as we humble ourselves and say "Yes, Lord. Your will be done."
The flesh is anything that has not been renewed or transformed in us by the Spirit. Until we die, we will continually need to die in the soul area, to the things that need yet to be renewed by the Spirit.
