Amalthus is actually my favourite XC2 character. For me he represents the darkness of XC2's world, and for someone who largely dislikes XC2's wacky ridiculousness, he was the only character I could bring myself to actually like. I also find him EXTREMELY relatable.
Zeke von Genbu, Addam Origo, Mikhail are my favorites for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Gray, Cammeravi, Ashera are my favorites for 3. (I actually really like Rex and Eunie more, but I don't think they would count as underrated).

My favorite underrated characters are Nial (Morag's cousin in XC2), Tyrea (xc1), Kalian (xc1), Sena (xc3), and Ashera (xc3). Also Addam from Torna!
