From the Internet . "Several changes have been made in the AM73B life cycle. For 2010 the frets were changed from large to medium. For 2011 the speed knobs were replaced with Sure Grip III knobs. For 2014 the Artcore pickups were replaced with Infinity R pickups (the best). For 2015 the pearl dot fretboard inlays were switched to acrylic. For 2019 the maple body construction changed to linden (the same tree of the famous leaves to sleep). The mahogany neck was replaced with nyatoh (I think is the same of Nato but not sure). And the rosewood fretboard was replaced with laurel. For 2020 the fretboard was again changed, this time to walnut, and the bridge was replaced with the new Gilbraltar Performer".
Just bought one this past week before seeing this review. No issues with the tailpiece bridge or tuning issues. The bridge pickup does have a significantly higher output than the neck. It does seem to tilt a little forward a little due to strap lock location and find I'm having to compensate for that just a little. May look into upgrading hardware, pickups and such. Overall plays pretty well, sounds really decent thru a Orange Crush 20RT.
Just bought this model used at GC for $250. As a Fender guy, I am quite impressed with the build and tones from this guitar! And it sounds amazing thru a tube amp. Great playing on yours!
The A string issue on the bridge is how the string is sitting. There is a horizontal groove. It just isn't over in the groove. It's fine, just loosen the string and slide it in and over. Bam!
i bought one used and its a hot guitar. the neck pickup Ohms are 15.5 and the bridge is lower at 10.5. That blew me away. Thing shreds. Makes me wonder why they swapped pups or if it came that way.
Not an issue on the A string. It is not threaded through the tailpiece correctly. Also not a bad place to put the strap button. Very very common with arch tops.
If you're showing a guitar, you should be showing it with a regular tube amp; 2 sounds: clean and moderately dirty, like 'AC/DC' crunch. Your current set-up there does Nothing to reflect the guitar's true sound. Just 'FYI'.
If your buying this guitar ($399 new) the Spyder amp is probably what your rockin. Yeah, you don't demo a silver sky with a spyder, but I think Tom hit his market!

Correct! I actually discovered that when I gave it a set up and forgot to mention that at the end of the video. No issues with the bridge.

Nice demo. I picked up a used one of these (exactly like yours) today at the big box for $250. My first semi-hollow. I'm quite smitten.
Melak1m that’s a great price. Congrats
