Derrick, After e-mailing Parkvision and inquiring about their two cameras PJ-120-Pro and ZL-115S I opted for the ZL-115-S model. Kudos to Parkvision as they answered me back within a couple hours with a nice breakdown of each model. While I appreciated the adjustment of the Pro 120 model I was not going to use the parking lines and luckily with smaller size of the camera I was able to mount it close to center of the car. The ZL-115S model has superior night time visibility and more pixels as well. I didn't even have to drill a hole as I extended the "notch" above the license plate and slid the camera in to place. So far, I'm loving the new camera. The image adjustment features work great and it has good night time vision. It looked like daytime in the display even though it was starting to get dark out already. I have LEDs for the back up lights, and it picks up the light from them really well at night.
Derrick Aquino hi, I just want to know where you buy the camera harness with the plug that goes into the back of the radio because that is the only thing I need to instal my rear view camera because I have the same radio if you can help me im gonna thank you for ever!!
Not sure what you mean by open, but if you meant how to get it out, you just pinch the tabs at the bottom to release it and it will pull up and out. You can pop out the two clips securing the back of the headliner to get underneath.
Thank you so much for posting this video. It is very very helpful. I too will need to mount the camera to one side, on my mini r56. As such the horizontal adjustment will be critical. May I please ask, in the dark does the license plate lamp not dazzle the camera? Thanks again.
No, I didn't have any issues with my 6000K LED license plate lights interfereing with the image when I had the camera offset like this. I've since then centered the camera and haven't had any problems either.
@@VampyreX13 great. Thanks once again for taking the time to reply. It’s really helpful. I can’t put my camera in the centre as on a mini the latch to release the rear hatch is in the centre. I’ll put the camera to one side, as you have. Once again thanks for your help.
I haven't touched my wiring in a while, but from what I recall, the camera RCA connection and power wire ran directly to the camera harness that plugs into the back of the head unit. I did not need to run any additional power wires.
For your Scion tC, did you have to splice a reverse trigger wire or was it just plug and play? I have a 2012 Scion tC that I’m going to add a backup cam. Any idea if I have to splice trigger reverse wire or if it’s plug and play for me? Thanks.
I lucked out and I just had to plug it in and it worked. No need to splice a reverse wire on the 2016. I think you might need to splice, but I'm not sure what wire to.
@VampyreX13 only concern i have. I installed the same stereo on my 2011 scion xd. I had to purchase adapters for all the wires in order to be plug and play
How would I know if I have the thing that, when I put my car in reverse the camera knows? I've installed 100s of HUs but never a camera. After watching everything it seems straight forward but you didn't show anything about the reverse switch since you already had it installed. Is there going to be a spare wire in my wire hardness that's connected to that or something? If I had one where would it be? Like how would I know if I have one. And If I don't have one is there a quick explanation on buying and installing one?
I have an updated video at ua-cam.com/video/e72rk88zUlE/v-deo.html. Please watch that first, then post up again. There's also some info in the video description showing the reverse trigger pin.
which size harness? Amazon has two sizes: 59mm x 15mm x 135mm and 61mm x 16mm x 135mm. If I have no previous camera, I will need to buy the harness separate from the parkvision right?
Hey just curious if you have any idea why mine would have stopped working. I’ve got a 2016 radio in my 2011. It worked until about a year ago. Harness is ran correctly, checked all wires and my trigger wire directly behind the radio is getting power, but even inserted into the pin, my radio doesn’t do anything when I shift the car into reverse. I would think even if the camera had gone bad that the screen would change on shift. I feel like I’ve tried everything but just curious if I could be missing something. Thanks!
Not sure what's going on, but you are correct. Even if the camera was not working, the screen should at least flip over to black when you go in reverse. I would unplug the harness on both sides and try to test the wires with a multimeter to make sure there's no break in them. Also make sure none of the pins in the harness going to the stereo are bent.
Just had the same problem. I went ahead and bought a new camera but it doesn't work either. Stoped working after I switched out the car battery. I reconnected the battery but still nothing. Did you get it working?

I'm wondering if you might have found any one-out diagrams for that radio. I'm installing one taken from a 16 tc in to 2011 tc. Having some difficulties with no audio output, even though the majority of connectors are the same. Any information would be appreciated! Once I have audio, then camera.
Are the front and rear speaker harnesses different between the two years? I'm kind of surprised it's not mostly plug and play since it's a factory radio.
The camera comes with all the wires you need except for the actual harness itself. I'm sure you can find it somewhere. I haven't looked since I just re-used the one I got from Camera Source.
How did you get the rubber loom popped off of the car the route the wire to the hatch lid? I can’t get the plastic clip that’s holding the bottom end of the rubber tube to come off
If I recall correctly, you'll want to pop the plastic clips off the headliner so you can get under it. If you pinch the narrow ends of the white plastic, one of the sides moves inwards and you can pop it up and out.
I installed the back up camera as well as the head unit harness that you posted on your description. I followed the wiring diagram included with the camera. There’s a factory reverse trigger wire installed on the head unit so I tapped the red wire to that. But the camera isn’t working after installing. Do you have any idea what caused of this problem?
I did not need to use the reverse wire for my head unit. Maybe that's your issue? The red wire that eventually goes to the camera should go to the red wire on the harness.
Well it shows on the instruction to connect the red wire to the reverse trigger wire but I will try and connect the red wire to the red wire on the harness
@@edizon2788 on the back of my harness, I have an RCA connection and then a black and red wire. The RCA goes to the RCA on the camera, the red wire to the red wire on the camera, and the black wire isn't connected to anything. Those are the only connections I have used.
