The cycling etiquete is to ask someone if you can follow his/her wheel. Good that you reacted after he asked you to stay away, but following someones wheel without even saying helo, agknowledging you are there is not a nice behaviour. BTW Thats some serious power you have there in those legs. Impressed!

I was riding on his wheel during a long easy ride earlier this season, no issues from his side. Probably it's not an arrogance, just doing intervals with all the surges and slowing downs + having someone you don't trust on your wheel? Honestly, most people would have done the same.

I see some comments criticizing Remco here, but he has his reasons. Having a stranger right on your back wheel can sometimes feel equivalent to a tailgater that’s on your rear bumper when your driving. It’s a little unnerving and tests your patience. The amateur rider certainly shows his fitness here and didn’t do anything wrong, but I don’t feel Remco did anything wrong either.

What makes you think this is ok? The pros really, really hate when you do this and they hate how it makes them look arrogant when they have to tell you to stop for your and their safety.
On the surface it's all innocent enough, but it doesn't take that much before it becomes dangerous -- a misjudged turn or sway here or there and it's goodbye classics, Worlds, Vuelta and everything else in that season.
I remember a podcast by Brian Holm where talks about these guys and how they wait outside the riders' hotels when they're on training camps. They'll ride along in the back for the experience, but they have nowhere near the needed bike handling skills and that often puts themsleves and the pros at risk.

it's funny to read about zone 2 for Remko and 5 for Artem, they have a difference of about 1-1.2 wkg, Artem is a strong amateur cyclist and recently was the winner of the Turkish mountain race, his heart rate of 180 is a normal working zone which helps him sit on the wheel while Remko it works, Artem also has an FTP of 5 WKg, which is a lot for an amateur and which 99% of the commentators here don’t have, it’s just ridiculous to read from you about watts and heart rate zones)))

    1. He tried to drop you but he couldnt bro. He kept looking over his shoulder after his surges but you have put in the work so could match him.
    2. Remco has the talent but his ego is going to be his undoing.
    3. It is a public road not a race. You have every right to be on there. If he doesnt want you on the wheel then he can tell himself to stop riding slow or slow up and let you go around. He just showed a few hundred thousand people how arrogant he is lol. What a brat. No wonder he is losing friends in the peleton already.
    4. You are not causing any danger and if you are pushing those wkg for that long then you are obviously an experienced rider especially uphill. His arrogance was uncalled for. I would have just smiled and said back to him 'stop riding slow and go bro! Lets go!'.

Entonces, ¿por qué otro ciclista no puede aprovecharse de tu nivel para hacerse un test, si tú también te estás aprovechando de las referencias que te están dando los otros?
