Working on Fire has executed four deployments since June 2023, totaling 860 firefighters and management personnel, to Canada during one of the most severe wildfire seasons in history. Canada has recorded more than 6,330 fires this year, resulting in the destruction of over 17 million hectares of land.
Their homecoming was celebrated during an awards ceremony at the Kishugu Training Academy, where all in attendance appreciated their safe return and expressed immense pride in their accomplishments as they also recorded zero injuries.
The contributions of the 215 WOF heroes were praised, highlighting their crucial role in their success and their ability to unite under a common vision. The ceremony also acknowledged and honored the best performers who all had one thing in common, they displayed exemplary leadership skills, guiding and inspiring the team to achieve their goals.
