Back in those day Kyo was still learning how to do everything he does now, his voice wasn't as polished as it is today. As things are right now, he is easily a top tier singer, since he has a wide range and a good technique in almost every aspect of his voice. As far as DIR EN GREY goes, it has become one of the most important bands in Japan, they get to tour every year outside of their country, and those tour end up being a complete sucess. They're supposedly to be the second most important/successful metal band that doesn't speak or sing in english as their main language [After Rammstein, not comparing them by the way.] Overall DIR EN GREY has become one of the main attractions in the Japanese musical scene and in the metal industry.
Kyo is actually generally regarded as one of the best in the world at what he does.

Withering to Death will always be my favourite album by them. I swear Kyo is one of the most talented and emotional front men ever. As the years have gone by his vocal skill and range has only improved.

Can't believe this was Kyo in 2006. It's very rare that vocalists get better with age but he's so much better now in 2013.

That is a matter of opinion. No music is "shit". Everything can sound good to someone. And im pretty sure none of those bands that you mentioned earlier could cherish in european/american music bisness. But Dir en grey can, and that says something about their musical skill. If a band can constantly change their music to suit more audiences that means they know how music is made. And thats why Dir en grey isnt "Shit"

メタルフェスは特に知名度ある曲じゃないとサークルとか起きにくい。棒立ちで手あげたり、頭だけ振ったりってのがほとんど

いうてこのコメント5年前ってことはcrystal lakeとかcrossfaithとか海外行きまくってた時期だったけど日本メタルコア勢、知名度なくても曲の良さと煽りのうまさで会場盛り上がらせて実は日本のロックバンドだと当時北米ヨーロッパではone ok rockとかよりそいつらの方が有名って感じになってたけどな。

He could also learn to actually scream / sing better. Not a fan of the songs he has where he just sounds like his mouth has diarrhea and randomly spurts nonsense at random tones... Which is like all the time. Most of that audience of people is just standing there like wtf... which is what I do with most of this music they turn out.

I don't like the concerts of wacken or the rock am ring, I feel that there is not the same connection as with other presentations where everyone goes by diru ... I feel as if they were alone, mainly in wacken, I felt Kyo as if I were Trying to knock down a wall constantly :,c sorry, long answer, I need to say it :,c
