The "Curtain with text" logo sounds pretty creepy as it resembles something out of a circus/carnival. The NBC News sequence from the 60's sounds very dramatic, and the "Coloring N" is dramatic as well. The 1966 and "Special Bumper" were advanced for their time, that "Special" one was funky but has seizure inducers inside it.
Sony Movie Studio Platinum is honestly like low-end when it comes to editors and you still choose Android. Get a computer. You can use...Sony Vegas, or Adobe Premiere, both of which cost $400-$600, but you're a young man, you can save up. And you can make professional videos *without watermarks*.
The intro is fine, it stands out from the other NBC logo timeline videos. Keep up the nice work, and ignore those that have nothing else better to do than to go on everyones video and leave negative comments.
Fact of interest-The short peacock was also used prior to local special programs. If a special aired on Channel 4 here in Washington at that time, Vic Roby would intone, "And now a special program brought to you in living color, on WRC-TV."
Nice history, bad Intro. NBC rocks! Anyone out there remembers the familiar NBC chimes. That one was used at the end of every OTR show from the 30's and 40's including "Fibber McGee & Molly", "The Great Gildersleeve", "Life of Riley" and many other radio shows from their bygone days. Every time I hear an announcer saying "This is NBC, the National Broadcasting Company", and then the NBC chimes kicked in towards the tail end of every radio show. People who are NBC geeks weren't even born when "The Great Gildersleeve", "Fibber McGee & Molly", "Fred Allen" and many others shows as part of the Old Time Radio landscape. Why not take a time machine back to the 1940's and relive radio's bygone days. You rock, NBC!!!
***** I guess so. Go listen to "Fibber McGee & Molly", "Jack Benny", "Great Gildersleeve", and a bunch more OTR shows from the 1930's and 1940's and you will heard the NBC tones at the end of every OTR show in existence. Old Time Radio was the king of the world.
I agree. All it really is someone moving a piece of paper with their hands through a hole in a piece of construction paper with the audio from the computer with Windows Error Remix sped up.
The "N"/peacock combo was part of the migration strategy to move away from the "N" after the copyright infringement. They realized that it wasn't smart to change the corporate look overnight as was done with the "N" in '76 so a period of transition was set up that spanned several years. BTW - the 6 feather bird (a superior design) was designed to represent the 6 divisions (at the time) within the company; news, sports, entertainment, production, syndication and corporate. Each group had a color
