At the end of the day, fashion is art. Whether it’s ready-to-wear or haute couture, there’s a lens that the designers apply in order to make what they do. I agree. As much as I find it dumb, the basic things like abstract art usually tell a story that the artist is trying to tell us. Whether comical or deep.
@@amandak.4246 Which is fair to say if that’s how you feel about it. I think because we’re able to be so much more expressive than back then, we’re going to see more designs that are way out there. Whatever story behind the art piece came from a person that applied it into a form of expression.
This isn’t to say that fashion can’t be critiqued, though. Art is subjective, and if anything, I hope that this can help us learn what fits our preference.
While there was a class and structure, there was also pressing societal norms and standards. I’m glad there’s more to fashion now than just what society wants you to look like, for the most part.
Well if everything can be just called art or a way of expression I'm getting away with 3 counts of manslaughter

4:46 This is actually inspired by Astro Boy's shoes maybe that's why Its gon a bit popular since this fit is based on a very old anime which is pretty good
I swear some people can tape themselfs to a pillow and then will call it "fashion"
I feel with fashion(in runway shows) brands are now making artistic/ abstract outfits not for wearing but more of a piece of art, like with fashion textiles in education, it’s not supposed to be something to wear, it’s a piece of art opposed to wearable fashion
Some of these fashion choices belong in The Capitol in The Hunger Games, no joke.

Usually society peaks, and then it falls and we are still falling

Once a friend who studies fashion design told me that in modeling it doesn't matter how you create the dress, what materials you use or the design, it's about creating a compelling story about why you created the dress.
It's like modern abstract art
“You damn don't understand art!”
That was how my friend replied my argument about those weird outfits.
