Cheers mate. Yep this sort of thing, for me, will be a ‘low view count’ video. But I wanted to put it out anyway and share the experience. One of the best times I had in Malaysia 😊👍
Great vid Mark it’s really nice to see someone making videos of a few obscure locations that not many visit. Most travel UA-camrs end up sounding like they’re advertising but yours is truly original. Keep up the great work👍
Cheers mate, that means a lot! I’m certainly not aspiring to be any more polished tbh lol and I don’t have sponsors knocking at my door either! Just trying to travel a bit and keep it honest really. Glad you enjoy it 😊
😊 lol Mark you made a right klanger getting that 🚆😳 and you needed a safety harness going down that gangway 🤔 to alii babas ⛵ the nicest part for me nothing left on your plate ✅ did you really enjoy! Anyway thanks for the 🎥 Mark all the best John 😊
Nothing better than visiting a place off the tourist map . You have your eyes opened and get a great sense of achievement that you've achieved something most people never try !
Im off to KL in three days, your videos have helped shape a trip to Penang (£20 firefly flight and train back) and now tempted to visit Crab Island. Thanks
It was mate! One of those places I’d have liked to have stayed longer but last boat of the day was 30 minutes away and I had to go. I won’t go back because they’re never quite the same again I don’t think. Will live long in the memory though 😊
Such an interesting place to visit, the locals seemed very friendly and as you say, exploring somewhere different rather than the usual tourist places. Thank you Mark for this very informative video.
Thanks for commenting Diana, it was a fascinating place that I’d definitely recommend. This kind of thing for me is all about creating memories and I’ll never forget it. 😊👍
Really enjoyed that Mark, thanks very much! As always, great content! Fascinating to see travel done properly, off the beaten track. But done with such confidence, but an enjoyable, non-arrogant confidence. Love it Mark, keep it up and…….. cheers for now!
I'm binge watching though all your stuff, your my new favourite youtuber. I love everything that you do, your polite, humble and very likable. I'm from Llangollen and live in Wrexham so I like seeing them at your train and bus stopes every now and then. Love the aberrystwth video, I might drive to Shrewsbury and take the train one day. I never realised. Take care. ❤
Cheers mate, appreciate the support! Shrewsbury’s worth a trip yes. Take the train from Wrexham General I would (less hassle) and enjoy the town. If you see me about, say hi 😊
I have been twice to this island. I even took a team building team here. I was there before the pandemic. The KTM train is super slow. There are lovely hotels on the island. We have to come early by the KTM train. The jetty seems to be improved.
Yes Linda, I thought there’d be loads of crabs too! I couldn’t bring myself to eat one - I’m not big on that kind of choose your meal from a tank thing tbh!
Wow Interesting place crab island Mark the locals seems to be friendly but glad you enjoyed it apart from the journey by train which took ages anyways another great video take care matey
Cheers Caleb. Yes, one of the highlights of the trip tbh. Not the usual kind of video for me but I really wanted to make it just for the memories as much as anything else 😊
Thanks for another great product, would I go there? been once and I will never go again frankly it was a horrible experience but that's the way traveling goes. Take care and stay safe, cheers.
Thanks Simon. It’s good to hear someone else has been, though it doesn’t sound like you had a great time and believe me, I’m all too familiar with that feeling. Like you said, just gotta be honest and travel doesn’t always end up like you might expect. Cheers mate.
A great mix of transport used there. Like most people I was not familiar with this island and you can clearly see on Google Maps that virtually the whole island in mangrove covered except for the two stilt villages. Glad it was a great end to your trip.
Yes it is - I should’ve mentioned the mangrove actually. There was so much I could’ve added but like you said, it was a great end (almost) to the trip.
Awesome video! That is proper travelling so credit to you. What an experience. I suppose nowadays this would be a reel on those sites the young people are on.... #travelgoals 😂
Hi, Matt. What a fabulous place and what a super journey to get there. Well worth the high speed train!!😂. These are the kind of places that make life worthwhile. If you ever need an assistant I'm your man😅. Keep finding these places for us. Thank you ❤
That was great! Loved the island and, as you say, what a difference from places you will normally visit. Can you possibly give the railway a break if the train has lots of station stops bringing the avge speed down? I mean I wonder how long it takes for a District line train to get from Wimbledon to Upminster? It may have a similar average speed 🤷♂️ Anyway, of you recent ones, that's the one I enjoyed most. Nice one 👍
Cheers mate. I did think about the underground when I was editing this but at least on the tube they seem to make an effort between stations. This was just, well, I prefer the underground tbh 😂
Reminds me of a little village I visited when I was in Hong Kong about 8 years ago. Was rather fascinating.. Malaysia is definitely a country I would like to visit one day.
Hi from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia👋. Wow u manage to go there by KTM Komuter (The slowest ever and ever) to Pulau Ketam. I always go there and having lunch at Kim Hoe Restaurant the one that you were having your meals. By the way thanks so much for doing this video❤.
Wow mate that’s amazing! Great to hear from someone who not only has been there but ate at the same restaurant! This is one of my favourite ever trips, mainly because it’s such a fascinating place. I don’t really have the right audience for these kind of videos tbh (hence the comparatively low views) but I’m so glad I made the video anyway. A lasting memory of a wonderful trip I’ll never forget. 😊
Hi Mark, my pleasure for spending trip in my country, Malaysia. Do you remember me as we being a good conversation in Komuter from Pulau Ketam to KL Sentral 😁
Hi Zarra! Of course I remember the lovely lady (and her daughter) I met on the boat 😊 Glad you managed to find me on here and I hope you enjoyed the video. I really did have a great day on that trip and I enjoyed our conversation (and learnt a lot at the same time). Hope you’re doing well and yep, really nice to hear from you.. Mark 😊👍
Problem is the klang straits is polluted. Used to be very dirty, now a bit better as they are given formal and informal education about cleanliness and recycling.
Places off the beaten track often reserves surprises. Would love to visit such a place
Cheers mate. Yep this sort of thing, for me, will be a ‘low view count’ video. But I wanted to put it out anyway and share the experience. One of the best times I had in Malaysia 😊👍

Cheers Steve, it’s exactly that yes and an unforgettable experience 😊👍

Exactly, very well put and how I felt. It’s the memories too. 👍
Hi Mark. Malaysia is a great place, and it looks like you had fun. What a madly slow train, though. Thanks for the enjoyable travelogue as ever. D
Cheers David. Yes it was a great trip. Not my usual kind of video but I couldn't not post this up as the memories for me were very special.

Im off to KL in three days, your videos have helped shape a trip to Penang (£20 firefly flight and train back) and now tempted to visit Crab Island. Thanks

Absolutely loved rhis. Was laughing out loud at the speed 🤣 of the train. Your humour during these trips is great.
Thanks Diane. I try my best though I’m not sure everyone gets it tbh 😂

@@LetsMakeaTrip Actually you could have stayed longer. There are good hotels there.
That was a fascinating trip. I thought we were going to see loads of crabs. Shame about the one that was upside down. 😄 Great video.
Yes Linda, I thought there’d be loads of crabs too! I couldn’t bring myself to eat one - I’m not big on that kind of choose your meal from a tank thing tbh!
Very interesting xx. 👌
Thanks Clare 😊

Omg I live in Port klang near crab island. I hv only been there 2 to 3 times in my life.
I didn’t have time to look around Port Klang unfortunately. Maybe I’ll be back one day though - looked an interesting place 👍

"Down at the tube station...at 10:37"🤣
I knew you’d get it Dave 😊
That looks an amazing place to visit and again the travel seems so cheap.
It was Tony and you can’t go wrong for the money 👍
Problem is the klang straits is polluted. Used to be very dirty, now a bit better as they are given formal and informal education about cleanliness and recycling.
It did look quite polluted tbh ☹️
They sell dried prawns there.
I’d go there for the oyster omelette and experience ❤
Exactly! Try as much new stuff as you can.
Ive been to pulau ketam but i am malaysian
I've a funny feeling we may soon be bui!ding homes on stilts due to flood plane constructions and global warming !
Yes, that could well be a thing!!
more bald and bankrupt than non stop Dan but yeah haha
Yeh 😂
