It’s not like he killed anyone… why all the media press and big deal over heresay allegations!! It’s so horrible.. to ruin someone’s life both personal and professionally. I can only imagine the depths of his emotional state to do something so drastic!!!! I blame Korea, they need to get their priorities straight!!! Something is not working here!!! Is that their goal?? SHAME ON THE SOUTH KOREAN POLICE AND PUBLIC PROSECUTOR! Knowing how important/critical reputation is to an actor, to interview Lee Sun Gyun multiple times for alleged drug use instead of focusing on his claim of being the target of blackmail is IRRESPONISBLE and bordering on criminal. Lee Sun Gyun has represented Korea to the world in the best possible way through his craft and artistry as an actor, and for unfathomable reasons the Korean Police failed to protect his rights and privacy. Instead, they contributed to the stress and pain of being at the mercy of popular opinion, “cancel culture”, and parasitic paparazzi, and have failed on a global scale. Their failure cost a human life.

19 hours of interrogation is for someone that you already have solid proof that is actively involved in running a drug cartel; international fraudulent trade; terrorism of something of this scale and nature. 19 hours of interrogation is not for someone who once ventured in consuming recreational drugs.

The Police Chief in Incheon should be sacked. He mishandled the "probe" which was intiated by a mere " gossip" from a female bar attendant, which lead me to thinking, it is a set up for the Police Chief to get promoted. And Lee even filed a complaint of "blackmail" coming from this female, which ironically the name was withheld while Lee's name was all over. 3 negative results, and a request from Lee of lie detector test, until his passing. Lee's Atty. Even requested for a private investigation, for the Police not to release info until the inveatigation is done, but the Police denied the request of privacy, and that resulted to numerous challenges by Lee's contracts and career. So, in my view, the police is accountable in mishandling this " probe".

English news outlets aren’t reporting the full story. He was a victim of two blackmailing women he was involved with at a brothel (threatened to expose his affair) and corrupt police who leaked their investigation to the press. The police and one news outlet where this information was all leaked has ties with the current president who needs a distraction from his wife’s corruption scandal, this is a well known phenomenon in SK; create celebrity scandals to divert attention away from the corrupt persons in power. They were the driving force behind his death.

His name should never have been handed to the media in the first place! Just like average citizens have rights to protect their personal information from the media until proven guilty, stars also should be treated like average citizens! Unless he was found to be guilty, he should never have been paraded around like a criminal. He was dragged through the mud so many times over the past few months and police did NOTHING to protect him because they already deemed him a criminal. They even allowed that tabloid agency to dig into his personal phone records - which HAS to be illegal and yet they did nothing against that agency. Even in GD's case, it was obvious from the start that the police wanted to create a big case to cover something else up and despite multiple negative results from both stars, they kept pushing for anything to make both of them guilty. Regardless of whether Mr. Lee did or didn't, the media and police drove this poor man to his death and are now trying to shamelessly shift blame! NOBODY deserves to be driven to suicide.

He tested negative more than three times, and yet police kept him for 19 hours under interrogation. Even if he had done something wrong, these are disproportional consequences. Not to mention unethical, and against human rights.

@@lilianoliveira5181 Even a nobody can find ways to get a negative result from a drug test, what makes you think he can't? And you talk about human rights, drug money goes to violent gangs or cartels that destroy innocent lives. And here you are being all sympathetic to a cartel funding idiot just because he is famous.
      Wretched fandiot.

lol. You’re the most dumbest person to have a response like that. I guess you haven’t travelled outside your suburb, look at Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand Seattle, LA, Detroit, Romania, lol, I could be here all day with all the countries who allow drugs turn into a crime ridden zombie sh!thole. I’m a white Aussie that has lived and taught English and even married a korean and been travelling there every year visiting my parents in-laws. I am organising to pack up everything including finishing my Aussie citizenship in Australia to live my retirement live in sth Korea as I can’t even walk the streets in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne without tweezers robbing me for their drugs. So to speak stay the fk out of other countries rules. They don’t need snowflakes like you telling them to change for your illogical sense.

The tragedy of the loss of Mr Lee Sun Kyun would lie heavy on the conscience of many people whether they wish to honestly admit it or not. From the police, to the scammers, blackmailers, netizens, media, close friends, acquaintances, fellow colleagues in the industry, as well as family members. Everyone played a part in his pain and anguish in various degrees. We can't turn the clock back but we can take responsibility and resolve to not allow such a tragedy to be repeated.
There is "blood" in everyones hand, if they have the courage to admit it. If not, why did Mr Lee Sun Kyun feel abandoned and had to make the painful desicion to end his life and leave his loved ones behind. People whom he cherished.
I can't imagine what his last moments would have been like.
If we are truly sincere in safeguarding his soul which now lives in the eternal life. Pray for him every day, pray for his consolation and redemption. Don't let him feel abandoned again. Comfort him with your PRAYERS if you really care for him. He does not need your praises and adulation as he has left this earthly world for eternal life.
