You are beautiful. The way you are with your dog's, your husband and your channel viewers. Beauty isn't about what you look like, it's a reflection of your soul.
I've been a carpenter for 28 years. I actually got my degree in Residential Construction back in 1994 from trade school(the good Ole days) Rafters and stairs have and will always be my favorite part of my job. And yes, even us professionals screw up from time to time. Your hair tied up like that reminds me so much of my daughter! I miss her so much. The view from up there must be out of this world! Keep up the great work young lady! 👍
When you learn all by yourself, you miss out on the embarrassment and scolding of a grumpy old carpenter yelling at you and pushing you harder than you can go. Don't be too hard on yourself. You are going to be a really nice old carpenter one day. You will have great stories to share with a young carpenter and you wont be mean to them. I am a 60 year old carpenter that learned from some grumpy jerks. Some were kind, but not the first ones I worked for. Good job Michy. Smiling, George.
Those little triumphs make the day. The imperfections are proof of you humanity and make it uniquely yours. I'm going to call this video "The Adventures of The Rafter Monkey". That cabin is going to be able to handle any snow load that comes along. And you will be snug and cozy inside with Lenny and the rest.
You are a huge inspiration to me, I'm 53, male, been struggling for the a year now and dealing with surgeries, physical therapy, and many doctors appointments from a horrible car accident. And watching you by yourself build your cabin, sheds, saw mills keeps my fire going. Thank you for sharing your wonderful and hard journey. Please be safe out and up there. Hello from South Florida ❤️
Dang bud, 56 and in same physical mess right now from do many broken bones and spinal damage....from life, not a single accident....God Bless you Sir, you are not alone!
When you dropped the hammer, it reminded me when I did that as a first year apprentice. Our lead man picked it up and threw it as far as he could, telling me as he laughed, "You won't do that again, will ya!" I seldom ever dropped my hammer the rest of my working years.
Whenever a carpenter drops his hammer, he has to buy each of the crew a beer after work. This is tradition. It is to say" I could have dropped it on you, I'm sorry".
I think you do amazingly well. Every time I watch one of your videos, I always worry about you getting injured, not because you are a woman or careless but just because of what you are doing. You always look great no matter what.
Even with experience recalling it at the right moment doesn’t always happen. You are doing great. Just enjoy the day and at the end of the day look back and you can say “ look what I accomplished all by myself “
I don't always comment, but I always watch. I'm obviously a musician first and foremost, but my second love was building. Built several "structures", alone, designing as I went, so you bring back many memories! Love watching you do all the work lol! Just be careful. "Stuff" happens.
You're doing a great job, the way you're doing everything is a great way to learn. I've been a carpenter for 35 years and there's always another way of doing it. Keep using your noodle and I'll bet that the next time you go to build something you'll already know how to do it, best of luck with your cabin on a cliff...
I had a cat that ate carrots and grapes and spagetti can you belive it? Pets are the best freinds that god sends personally for your soul and theirs too. Keep up the good work.
Remember you said awhile back you not building a piano. “Care Less” is the right attitude. An eighth inch here or a sixteenth inch there won’t make a difference at the end of the project. At the end of the day, you’ll be the only one in the house who’ll know! Good job lady! Love them dogs mom. Stay safe!
What a remarkable young woman you are. You are such a problem solver. Your tenacity is only exceeded by your ability to look good .I am surprised you dont have a solar generator at the cabin to keep your batteries charged . You may want to invest in a satellite emergency device , considering how dangerous your activities are . Thank you for sharing , and please stay safe . Your animals are very lucky.
I think I’m gonna bring our Honda generator down there. I just don’t like the sound of them running but it’ll have to do for now. I’ll likely get a portable battery thing down the road
@@michygoss7148 that is what a solar generator is. it is a energy packed battery , with built in inverter and can be charged with solar panels that usually come with unit .
I love the roofline and a little hips and valleys on it. I’ve always believed in a home or dwelling having character real handcrafted, I live in New York and I cannot believe the monstrosities that people live in that have no personality and take up so much space and materials to build. Kudos to your little project, and that view is spectacular…..😊
The most significant trait that I admire in you is your willingness to expose your mistakes. 💚 Mistakes are only a problem when you keep making the same one over and over.
You are so intelligent. Don't beat yourself up. I know it sucks when things are not perfect. You work by yourself and continue to move forward. Many decisions made every minute and none of them are wrong. I love your DRIVE. I will continue to watch your channel.
You are a badass construction warrior. We all make mistakes. The genius is in the resolution of our compromises. I learn and respect greatly your candor. Keep up the fight. Bravo
As a house builder i think youre doing great ,most able bodied people would never attempt this think about how much you have learnt already. Way to go lady !
Holy smokes Batman!, get a look at this woman! You did mean mad skills! After watching several of your videos, there isn't anything you can't do. Beautiful location.
There is a fine line between a good diy'er and a contractor. Even with store bought lumber , not everything goes according to a framing square. Keep up the good work
Experience is the best teacher. I taught myself through trial and error experience to make mobiles. Kinetic metal sculptures. Got to the point of exhibiting and selling. Some of them very large 7 - 8 feet in length. Very much enjoy watching your progress. Can totally relate to the challenges you face and solutions you work through.
I've only met two women capable of this (but I'm sure there are more). One is my daughter and the other didn't like me. Impressive and it inspires me to get on with my woodstore. It's also very encouraging to see someone forgetting to do stuff and being inexplicably out by a centimetre all day long just like me.
Michelle, sorry I took so long to like and comment. You got me so motivated on your last video that I've been outside all day cutting and drilling and screwing various projects myself. I think your going to end up with a great build. Looking forward to the day you're out on your deck surrounded by all of the pets enjoying your favorite beverage. It may be in a foot of snow but it'll be a great day! Thanks for Sharing! 🙃🙂

As a carpenter who made my living for over twenty years, I will say that you are doing pretty well for someone who is working alone, and I know that you are learning heaps as you go along...KUDOS and God bless, Michelle! :D
You are better than many pros!! I remember learning that moulding was used to cover up all the mistakes. And of course if you do work on a house you find that you rarely encounter ninety degree angles. ..
I felt your 'woo hoo' from here. Norton's father was a goat, but his mother was a trash compactor. We have similar dog, only he loves veg peelings, dirt and all.
Your work especially on the roofrafters is impressive. Iike your videos and how you place the cameras and allow us changing views also to the breathtaking landscape

wishing you, Steve and your furry kids a blessed week, gentle weather and restful evenings. Peace princess
Looks really nice and the view of the lake is killer. Thanks for making the videos I really enjoy watching it come together.
And of course if you do work on a house you find that you rarely encounter ninety degree angles. ..
Wow! What a lady... It is so relaxing watching you on the balance beam... 😮 Thank you Michy.
Your progress is brilliant by yourself Michelle ...keep it up!!
You would look good in a bin bag Michelle you are amazing x
I give your build a ❤ and a thumbs ☝ plus an E for effort. Way to go...
Your rafters look great. Don’t worry about the small imperfections. One of my favorite sayings is You’ll never see it from the Space Shuttle ! 😃😃😃
I felt your 'woo hoo' from here. Norton's father was a goat, but his mother was a trash compactor. We have similar dog, only he loves veg peelings, dirt and all.
Norton will eat anything physically swallow-able. I’ve never seen anything like it! 🫣
Your work especially on the roofrafters is impressive.
Iike your videos and how you place the cameras and allow us changing views also to the breathtaking landscape
I admire your determination and ability to work through problems ..
