To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.
Bixby is fantastic as a phone controller. Especially when using Bixby routines. Google assistant is what i use for every thing else but Assistant pales in comparison when it comes to controlling my phone. For example, i have a routine triggered that when i open HBO max, turn on wqhd mode, and increase brightness. There's one when I walk into Home Depot it turns on wifi and opens Tick Tick (things to do app) and i can see my list of things needed to buy. When I leave, wifi is turned off and when i turn my car on it opens my music app and Google maps and when i place it on my car charger, time out mode increases to 10 minutes . The ability to create intricate deep level routines for my Note is second to none
Got them. These are the kind of thing that I have been waiting for forever. I've gotten used to jamming the two previous galaxy buds in my ear canal, but I've never liked doing it. This is a Godsend! The comfort is for real. The audio quality is solid. The buds plus might edge them out because because of the seal, but it is not by much. Especially when to shift the dial on that EQ. The sound improves in a snap! I've only had them for a few hours and I'm calling these my wireless dream earbuds. Well done, Sammy!

Samsung was actually pretty smart on making these new Buds. They're basically taking an entirely different approach from other earbuds, such as the new design, comfort and even ANC. This helps them avoid competition and stand out among the crowd.
I have always preffered non-isolating earphones, i understand the audio sacrifice as i still enjoy them when i can, but for the larger majority of time talking on discord, cycling, walking etc i like to be able to hear clearly around me. Nice to see that side of the market finally catered for :)

@@AT9-t2m who's said the airpods are better??? Looks like buds live will come on top, bro... Airpods pro is so outdated with that ugly dicks hanging out from your ears!!!
No. The ANC is better on Airpods Pro (or on any other ANC pair) due to the closed back design. People really need to stop waging these fanboy wars and start listening to the facts. The open back design means that any ANC on these headphones will be limited in blocking out sound as the Galaxy Buds Live were specifically designed that you will hearing your environment, it says it in the video for crying out loud. Any difference that it will do will be limited as ANC only works for constant sounds that are lower pitched. Even on a train, it will only block out some noise of the rumble and will be less than any other pair of ANC earbuds that are closed back.
Just got mine (Mystic Black) and been playing with them for the past few hours. "ANC for open type" is bunk. I can still hear the neighbor cutting grass and cars passing by. Also not mentioned is this only works with iPhone 7 and up running iOS 10 for the app. I have a personal iPhone SE 2016 and a work iPhone SE 2020 and had to configure the setup on the iPhone SE 2020. To be able to switch between phones, I had to delete the app for device switching to work consistently. Good thing is the settings are retained after deleting the Samsung app. Got these as I was tired of the same old with AirPods/AirPods Pro. Sound is better than regular AirPods and AirPods Pro. And I don't have to jam a silicon plug into my ear like the AirPods Pro. Deciding on if I'll keep these.
I LOVE the practicality of the Design and optically too i would take a black variant of it. Its great that no parts are lurking way out of my ear (Great while wearing Motorbike Helmet). The Problem is its not Silicontip sealed, so even with ANC on a relatively high Sound Pressure Level is reaching in the Ear Canal. Sadly nothing is so healthy for your Eardrum as blocking soundwaves physically instead of just ANC. If theses Buds had some Silicone in Ear i would imediately go for it.
Since you listed all of the Pros....... Cons. 1. The wearable app requires you to allow all permission all the time only. They give you the option to deny or only allow while using the app, but if you chose either of those it will close out the app and you won't be able to use it. 2. You have no control over what is allowed. If you don't want Bixby on your device... Too bad, you don't want it to have your location all the time..... Too bad, Calendar, Contacts, microphone, SMS etc. too bad. If you go into your device and stop any of them you're no longer allowed to listen to music. ( I only want to hear music. You don't need to invade my privacy to listen to music) 3. The Bluetooth sucks, all songs sound chopped and screwed when running. Paired my buds with the watch 3 and my music sounds like a scratched CD. The Bluetooth is extremely choppy when running. The music was smooth while in the house but as soon and I started to jog they kept loosing signal and quickly reconnecting. (yes I offline downloaded one of my Playlist from Spotify on my watch) who's to blame the new watch or the new buds or the company who made them both? 4. The speaker is the small area on the front tip which means these have to be perfectly placed in your ear which takes a bit. You will hear you left sounding better than your right, only to adjust the right where it then sounds better than the left. 5. It's 2020 I thought we were done with shiny. Can we get a Matt color? 6. No wall charger, I get it I have about a thousand of them anyway, but it's the principle. I do like a lot though, They didn't fall out of my ear not once in a three mile run in Arizona 111 degree weather. The charging case is pretty bad azz. The idea opened buds with ANC is now clear. Why to mix the ANC with possible ambient sound features. Now you are still here, but noisy sounds are lowered to not be as disturbing. For normal everyday use in traffic etc I think it's way to go. To be totally sealed is good for Airplane, Train or when your apartment is noisy :)) But outside it may be a bit dangerous.
They came in today. I did the head banging test when I put them on lol they totally passed, even flipped my head upside down to put on a ponytail. Love them. They can call them bronze all they want... they're ROSE GOLD 😎
Thanks for a great review! Originally, I was not impressed with the color. But what you said made a lot of sense with the fact that you will barely notice them in your air, which is what I would prefer. Once again, thanks for a great review. :)
How they feel is more important than how they sound. I have a momentum 2 and a buds+. While the momentum 2 definitely sounds better. In every other way the buds+ beats the momentum 2: latency, connecting speed, wireless charging (when buying my s20+ they gave me a free lamp with a wireless charging pad on it), small size on both case and earbuds, dedicated app opening speed, Stability and so on. These advantages made me use the buds+ over momentum 2.
I ordered a pair of these with my Note preorder. I have the Buds+ but my ears start to hurt after awhile. I’ve used AirPods in the past and while the sound wasn’t the best they were comfortable. I’m hoping these will give me a better overall experience
Great review video. Ended up ordering a pair based on the review. I'm upgrading from the original galaxy buds, so hoping for a great improvement. Thanks for the hard work on the video.
Thinking of getting these. I have the Sony WF-1000XM3's but these are just too uncomfortable to wear a whole workday. In the Netherlands they will be available at the end of the month.
I tried out Tronsmart Apollo Bold ANC, Xiaomi 1more EHD9001TA ANC and Galaxy Buds Live ANC. From my point of view they are unable to keep up with other models in EU.
Josh, have you tried Aftershokz Aeropex headphones. The low's are bad, but the mids and the highs are fantastic. The Aftershokz have earplugs in the box (to add noise cancelling) and they are SO comfortable!
One feature i'll miss from the Galaxy Buds+ is if you double tap on the outer edges of those earbuds, it'll let you adjust the volume levels while you can still customize the main touch sensitive button.
Honestly with my credit these were pretty much free so I figured why not and got them. I needed Bluetooth buds anyways because this is my first non jack phone. I was looking at the mifo o5 pro but decided on these instead since, well, free.
I agree with Sendohx7. If you are here for ANC, this is not for you. Open back design means that you will hear everything, ANC will only work on a little rumble and will barely make any difference at all.
I have the exact same problem but I recently discovered that it’s all about the size of the tip. Most earphones/buds come with multiple tips, I recently gave one a go using the smaller tip and I am happy to say that I went over 1 hour with no discomfort !. Your mileage may vary. Oh and try buds that have a wing tip so that you ain’t relying on the non-existent suction (from using the smallest canal tip) to have it stay in your ear.
@@blakerusso4474 but these are specifically made in a way not to feel that pressure unlike you would say with galaxy buds plus or any other in ear run of the mill buds . I don't think you'd feel that way with these
Very fair review. I'm glad you pointed out that Noise Cancellation is NOT something everyone wants. Most people I know, including me, hate the ANC feature. So, I'm glad Samsung steered away from an ear canal sealed design and give us the option to turn off ANC. Nice review.
I really dont like the suction effect of any earplugs/buds and I also dont like that silicon part which goes into the ear canal. This is the perfect solution for my needs. I am eagerly waiting to have my pair of samsung buds live. Thanks a lot, Your video helped me to clear just one doubt which I had in my mind. Rest, I am already a big fan of SAMSUNG.
I have anc headphones. Ordered these just to have smaller for walking around. If the anc isn't as great thats disappointing for 250cad but I literally paid the same price as my headphones for these so I'm not mad I got free charger pad with my purchase .
I have the beats pro audio since they came out but stress to much the back of my ear and i was looking a replacement with the same (or better quality) but i think this beans dont have the same audio quality 😔
These look pretty good, but for me the gel inserts are just something I've grown used to. I doubt I would be able to adjust. The lack of one is the main reason I've avoided AirPods ever since they released.
Sometimes on a call I need to speak in a really low voice such as: if I get a call in between a meeting or if I had to pick up a call in the middle of a movie (assume I have the buds on me for the sake of it). So how well does the other party be able to listen to me when I am using buds live?
Awesome review, thanks, I don't like the Galaxy Buds us in my ear as they wear off but now I want something that actually fits nit inside but in the flaps of the ear, I hope that my opinion doesn't spark a civil war between you and your audience...

Top notch work by Joshua!
They cost $300 in Australia so good on you for getting them for $169 thanks for really rubbing it in
I bought one. It is good!
Thinking of getting these. I have the Sony WF-1000XM3's but these are just too uncomfortable to wear a whole workday. In the Netherlands they will be available at the end of the month.
7:18 So you don't personally prefer these. What do you prefer?
Best review on these yet...going today to buy black ones...thanks bud ^_^
I tried out Tronsmart Apollo Bold ANC, Xiaomi 1more EHD9001TA ANC and Galaxy Buds Live ANC.
From my point of view they are unable to keep up with other models in EU.
This was a really well-done video...enjoyed it it a lot! Thanks for making me feel good about my new purchase!
Josh, have you tried Aftershokz Aeropex headphones.
The low's are bad, but the mids and the highs are fantastic.
The Aftershokz have earplugs in the box (to add noise cancelling) and they are SO comfortable!
Been searching for this for two days,
Very well done review buddy, ordered mine, cant wait to try them out.
I have never been able to use tight sealed buds. I'm really happy for these
Finally found Josh.... android authority never been the same without you man
Loved your review and you pleaseing laidback friendly style, subed because of this, thank you, your review was very personal and helpful
One feature i'll miss from the Galaxy Buds+ is if you double tap on the outer edges of those earbuds, it'll let you adjust the volume levels while you can still customize the main touch sensitive button.
Covered exactly what i wanted to know about. Great review man
Honestly with my credit these were pretty much free so I figured why not and got them. I needed Bluetooth buds anyways because this is my first non jack phone. I was looking at the mifo o5 pro but decided on these instead since, well, free.
I love open ear.
I hate suction in canal feel.
Ugh. I might get these
I’m torn. I wish the top UA-camr would do a top 4 ANC review
if you really need the ANC feature, I don't think this is the one for you
I agree with Sendohx7. If you are here for ANC, this is not for you. Open back design means that you will hear everything, ANC will only work on a little rumble and will barely make any difference at all.
I don't like the feel of earbuds in my ear canal it hurts after an hour and I feel like I'm changing elevations quickly
Umm... you guys have them already?
@@bjnz no just earbuds that have silicone tips I don't like the feeling of pressure after long uses
@@blakerusso4474 but these are specifically made in a way not to feel that pressure unlike you would say with galaxy buds plus or any other in ear run of the mill buds . I don't think you'd feel that way with these
@@gcforreal I hope so I'm looking forward to getting a pair 24 hours of case charging sounds great
Very fair review. I'm glad you pointed out that Noise Cancellation is NOT something everyone wants. Most people I know, including me, hate the ANC feature. So, I'm glad Samsung steered away from an ear canal sealed design and give us the option to turn off ANC. Nice review.
Can't wait till my pre-order comes in with that epic Ultra!!!
Love the buds. Great design.
I like this ear bud looks comfortable
@sufyaan khateeb cut your toe nails
@sufyaan khateeb I'm just joking my dude, I'm buying the Lives today
I really dont like the suction effect of any earplugs/buds and I also dont like that silicon part which goes into the ear canal.
This is the perfect solution for my needs. I am eagerly waiting to have my pair of samsung buds live.
Thanks a lot, Your video helped me to clear just one doubt which I had in my mind. Rest, I am already a big fan of SAMSUNG.
I am looking forward to trying these. Got a free pair with pre-order of note 20 ultra
I have anc headphones. Ordered these just to have smaller for walking around. If the anc isn't as great thats disappointing for 250cad but I literally paid the same price as my headphones for these so I'm not mad I got free charger pad with my purchase .
Brilliant review Josh!
I think these should be a 1 on 1 comparison with the regular Apple Pods. I'm eager to see
Very Complete review! Thanks!
I have the beats pro audio since they came out but stress to much the back of my ear and i was looking a replacement with the same (or better quality) but i think this beans dont have the same audio quality 😔
Kudos to there design team something soo different
getting these delivered along with note 20 ultra , thanks for the review
These look pretty good, but for me the gel inserts are just something I've grown used to. I doubt I would be able to adjust. The lack of one is the main reason I've avoided AirPods ever since they released.
Should i upgrade to this from the OG galaxy buds? i do dig the idea of open earbuds, just not sure about the sound quality
I want to see a review of these VS the New Pixel buds 2
Sometimes on a call I need to speak in a really low voice such as: if I get a call in between a meeting or if I had to pick up a call in the middle of a movie (assume I have the buds on me for the sake of it). So how well does the other party be able to listen to me when I am using buds live?
Awesome review, thanks, I don't like the Galaxy Buds us in my ear as they wear off but now I want something that actually fits nit inside but in the flaps of the ear, I hope that my opinion doesn't spark a civil war between you and your audience...
I'm really interested in these. These beans seem promising.
I was hoping the ANC was a lot better, oh well i already pre-ordered my and Note 20 Ultra.
Should I buy this or galaxy buds plus
do you want anc or not. if you want anc, buds live seem great. if not, the buds plus aren't going anywhere.
@@kavind1331 I want and but I really want the silicon tips so I can replace them with foam. It is fells so good.
@@amsalkhan4754 I think sound quality with foam tips is better than this granted I've never heard them so there's that
@@cargillmonteque2311 I think I'll try them at a store and see how I like the feel of the buds live. Thanks.
@@amsalkhan4754 I would wait for these to come out in stores first. It's a new design, so maybe they're actually better, who knows lol. They're only 20 bucks USD more. I would think the live design would be more comfortable, but the plus would have more feeling to the bass (because of the seal.) If you want to use them while laying down on your side though, get the lives lol, trust me.
How do these beans taste tho
Waxy and bitter
I love that desing and how it looks in ears.
I'm waiting for the release of the tab s7 plus and REALLY hoping that these come with it like they did with the note ultra
What are your favorite ear buds
I have Samsung buds+ and the Jabra 75ts
And I think the 75s are the best so far
So this buds live doesn't have edge touch to volume up or down like the old one? 🤔
Comfort is the keyword hear. If you need the best music experience, just get a good set of over the ear headphones.
Will the new buds live good on the iPhone 11 Pro Max? I’m an iPhone user but I really wanna to buy this🤩😊
I got the icon x I think it's time to upgrade
Great review I'll have to try it
I wish PocketNow was consistent with their earbud reviews. It would have been nice to watch their take on the Buds Pros
