I will be on this ship very soon, looking forward to it. Exciting as this will be my first cruise to New Zealand from Australia & return. Thanks for sharing Chris very informative.
Lovely video and I am so looking forward to going back on QE in just over 8 weeks’ time, she is my favourite ship of the Cunard fleet. I really hope they don't mess with her stunning interior on her next refit as I am not a fan of what they have done to QV's interior. I find the transitions between the old and new areas of QV quite jarring whereas QE just flows from one elegant space to the next.
it's a good tour Chris... but one thing i would ask is what FPS are you using because it was quite hard to see the ship when you panned from left to right or up or down. I might suggest a higher FPS to make it smoother. Other than that I enjoyed watching your tour of Queen Elizabeth cruise liner
we've actually been on the ship since and we loved it. It's such a great ship, it feels very spacious. We also LOVED the afternoon tea with the white glove service and the applause :P but it didn't half make it hard going for dinner after 3 hours from finishing hahaha. Thanks for the video
Prior to QE2, Cunard had never used a suffix in their liner names. There were multiple Caronia's, Mauretania's, Saxonia's etc. QE2 was a special case - and then when QM2 was introduced, it made sense to pair her with QE2 and maintain that naming convention. Somewhere between QE2 retiring from service and QE entering service Cunard decided to revert back to the no-suffix naming stance and we ended up with QE (no 3).
Amazing ship and amazing line!, The one thing I dont like is the dress code Im not the fanciest person so it would be hard for me to go on a Cunarder (Still a big fan of em) And If I could pick I would go on the QM2 Or if the QE2 came back I would obviously pick the QE2
Great to hear from you! The dress code is a bit fancy but it isn't quite as formal as it was in the 1990s - if you're aboard the current Queens and dine in Britannia, it's formal yet not too extreme - and there's always the Lido / Kings Court which is casual all day and night :) You can also hire clothing aboard if you're worried your wardrobe isn't up for the Cunard challenge.
There is no need to fear formal nights. The definition of formal has been "dumbed down" for the 21st century. In other words, "formal" permits attire that is not formal at all. If this watered down version of formal is still too much for some people, there is the option of casual dress in the cafeteria/lido/Kings Court or whatever it is called on various ships. By the way, the number of formal nights has been reduced. It used to be three on a one-week cruise, but on my last two one-week cruises there were just two. On Atlantic crossings there are still three.
I would LOVE to cruise on this ship. Over time, I’ve seen cruise attire become more and more slovenly and it’s good to see a line that still does things the right and proper way.
Enjoyed the film and the latest book. We met on QE on the QE2 Celebration voyage and your lectures were one of the highlights. I’m the chap whose father Captain George E Smith was the second ever Master of QE2. My wife and I are spending Christmas in Dubai with our son and his fiancée who both live there and we will try to get aboard Q32 if we can!www.smithyscruiseblog.com

How I miss this.
Love love love the Art Deco theme! I inagi3ne this would be the most beautiful ship since the Titanic 😍
You should see the first Queen Mary (not the Queen Mary 2!) to see a grand post-titanic ship.
That gentle rattle of the bookcase doors in the library. 🙂 A beautiful ship.
Thanks Chris. A well filmed and informative video. It gives my partner and I an idea of what to expect.
Thank you!

Thanks Andy! This one was done on my iPhone so maybe I need to upgrade my tech 😀

Really good video, thanks! How did you find the size of the ship, did it seem like a vast large ship or more small and intimate?
if this is the thrid ship named Queen Elizabeth how come this ship isn't named QE3?
