I play a Mk6 91xxx and an old (circa 1980) OL Florida (2.87; 113; circa 8-8*). I've been using Rigotti Gold in strength 3 for several years. I'm very satisfied so far and can only recommend trying it out. Thank you for your information and great videos.

I have a similar setup. 82xxx early babbit, and rigotti. This works for me. Love it

Love your playing Soren! i recently discover that the bass clarinet reeds works amazing for tenor, i use vandoren 2,5 with a jody jazz hr 6* mouthpiece and a BG duo ligature, greeting from Colombia

Tha k you Rodolfo, the new found Rigotti reeds really does it for me on the Otto Link 8*.
It is so important to have a great sound, because this is one one of the most inspiring things and you have to listen to it everytime you play.
Good luck with all your playing :)

The best Advice is to get rid of the bamboo. We are I 2021. Try Legere Signature or American Cut, problem dissolved.

Totally understand you. I tried plastic reeds long time ago. And it sounded plastic. Fibracell. Long time ago.
What is your feel/idea about the sound of the Legere compared to wood reeds?

@@sorenballegaardmusic I was previously using Vandoren Java # 2 on my Otto Link, NY 7*. The Légère Signature is working exactly as a good Java. I have also tried the American cut. A great reed, but i had to go 1/4 down. No more cane reed for me.

I got fed up with all the hocus pocus and the expense and now play Legere American Cut. Okay, they may not have the perfect sound but the amount of time and fiddling around I've saved, and the durability and reliability outweigh the disadvantages for me.

Plastic reeds. I hear more and more switch to plastic. I so understand.
@ggauche what are the biggest game changer for you by switching, if you should mention one thing?

@@sorenballegaardmusic If I had to pick only one, it would be that they are always ready to play. No soaking or fussing.

@@ggauche3465 i can completely understand you. Had lots of comments on FB today and yesterday on this. Looks like I must try Legere.
But first I go for the Rigotti reeds, really nice wood sound :)

I had so much practice sanding and filing reeds I could make one from a lollypop stick... Not anymore. American cut are awesome and they sound really great. It may take a few days to get used to them, but you will eventually end up sounding the same without the headaches that come with cane reeds. I carry two on my case, and that's all there is.
      Synthetic is the future...right now.

I kan totally relate to this. But could you explain what it is you love with the reeds. The sound, ease of playing, price, other?
Love to hear more opinions on this :)

@@sorenballegaardmusic With Rigotti everything comes together, ease of playing, sound, consistency. For now strength 3 is just right for me, I might go for 3.5 in the future. I was really impressed what difference a high quality ligature makes. It's the package of mouthpiece, reeds and ligature that needs to fit.

Hallo Sören, "Gold" on the underside of the sheet. With the Strong the "d" is painted, with the Light the "o". Nothing is painted in the medium.
