New for the 23/24 season is the YES All-In. As avid followers of YES Snowboards’ cutting edge technology, Chris and I were excited to experience what the All-In had to offer. Priced at $450, it piqued my interest, and I was curious to see if it would hold up to the esteemed YES reputation. I have definitely been impressed with this board in just about every condition.
Boasting the Tapered Mid-Bite profile that debuted on the Warca and is a scaled back version of the Pyzel, now known as the All-Out, the All-In proves itself on the slopes. Despite its scaled-down nature, it holds its own on the mountain with the best of boards. While designed for all-mountain riding, it surprised me with skills in the park. The forgiving flex makes landings smooth and it locks onto rails like a champ. It's a bit softer and more playful than the Pyzel, which I loved for park runs.
However, where the All-In really shines is in carving. The Tapered Mid-Bite profile ensures seamless turns, even on icy terrain. Plus, its wider nose and tapered shape help it float in powder like a dream. I was really able laydown carves with ease and turn comfortably in icy conditions. The Cam-Rock profile, with camber between the feet and mild rocker in the tip and tail, adds to its powder performance and makes turning super easy. Additionally, its slightly wider nose and tapered design contribute to impressive floatation in powder, enhancing the overall riding experience.
Initially wary of its extruded base, being known to require more frequent waxing, I was pleasantly surprised by its performance. Extruded bases are cheaper and typically require more frequent waxing. My concerns about the extruded base's impact on speed were quickly dispelled upon testing. Despite being a more budget-friendly option, the base proved to be fast and held wax exceptionally well.
Overall impressions
The YES All-In truly stands out. Priced at $450, it's a remarkable choice for all-mountain snowboarding. Offering forgiveness and ease of riding, it caters perfectly to those seeking versatility and reliability on various terrains. With its user-friendly design and impressive capability, the YES All-In is a top contender in its category. It's an ideal pick for riders craving a feature-packed board that doesn't break the bank.
