How Liverpool Just Won The Carabao Cup Final With Kids
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 лют 2024
- Liverpool are this season's Carabao Cup winners after an incredible 1-0 win over Chelsea. But with Pochettino's side looking the most likely to win it, Jurgen Klopp turned to a host of academy graduates to turn the tide. Adam Clery looks at how, despite their lack of experience, they not only matched Chelsea, but turned the game entirely.

“When life gives Jurgen Klopp lemons he makes fuckin silverware.” might be my quote of the year so far. 😂
Genuinely nearly wet myself when he said that 🤣🤣
Best line
Ever haha 😂
Kelleher deserves a special shout too. Unreal saves from him to save the game for us.
As well as having experience in nearly the exact same situation two years prior.
That was Alison bro 😂
@@jbk504 the 2022 carabao cup final when Kelleher scored the final pen to win? That was Alison???
Thanks. Agreed, I was going to add that too but you beat me to it.
@@jbk504 lmaooooo no
How Caicedo wasn't sent off for the tackle on Gravenberch is beyond me. Didn't even get a yellow for such an insane foul. Then he did the same ankle twisting foul on Endo who just fought on so how he got to stay on the field was beyond EVERYONE who wasn't blue. It's crazy how Kavanagh allowed such reckless and violent actions despite them being accidental. Curtis Jones red was also for an accidental, yet that was still a red? how does Caicedo avoid the same fate for two different fouls on the ankles?
Thanks to this video I will now remember that James McConnell has 12 minutes of Premier League action to his name.
And more medals than Harry Kane. 🙂
😂
@@John_B55 🤣🤣🤣
Has he mentioned yet that James McConnell has 12 minutes of Premier League Action to his name?
@@darrylc8:51.....4mins × 3 PL appearances😂😂😂
Well spotted regarding Endo - he was immense.
Man of the match for me
The fact that he made those subs with the possibility of penalties is wild!!!
If they haven't shot penalties before (in sr. comps), then they have not missed any 🤔
He didnt have much choice, he had to get fresh legs on and go for it, we had too many injuries, I expected to lose in Pens so it was all or nothing in extra time
@@avgaming4093you’re not wrong 😂
correct@@september9024 , jurgen didnt want to go to penalties, andd if it goes to penalties, he can walk out confidently bcs he just played a kids in penalties, so does if he win the penalties hahahahahahahaha i fukin love jurgen!
I didn't want penalties and I felt even worse when I heard he had put the kids on. Wondered how kids could score penalties in a final.
Endo is immense. He dominates midfields like Fabinho but with a different skill set.
Difference is that Endo is aggressive, even attempting to win the ball at the opponent's box 😂
Fabinho is a traditional defensive midfield, hanging back and only attempts to tackle after the halfway line
@@paperkites9101 Still did a great job, and it was actually more effective for counter attacks as the opposition was way in our side to just counter attack with ease
Diaz deserves a shout. He might not have been sparkly, but he worked so hard. And towards the end of the game he just couldnt move anymore, and took a role in the midfiel while Clarke drifted wide, instead offering nothing except ball retention. I dont think i've ever seen a football player as drained as Diaz looked, and he still offered his team more than Mudryk, Madueke and Nkunku all combined.
Virgil teared him a new one in 2nd extra time DIAAAAAZZZZ when he did not tracked back on a Chelsea counter, but he just could not run anymore, I think we were out of subs already
Yeah, brave by Klopp. I don't think we could've held on without bringing the kids on. Endo and Diaz were going on fumes. And Elliot seemed like he could've played another match lmao@@razielbeoulve819
Diaz had a really good first half but he basically disappeared in the 2nd half and extra time
He didnt do anything shiny, but he worked hard, he chased the ball, he kept hold of the ball. Pretty key aspects in football. It's not just about doing the spectacular. City never do anything spectacular. Just doing the simple things right@@Robert-te2yy
Diaz was barely able to walk by the final whistle. Endo had to go out on crutches he was so shattered as well. The whole team worked until there was nothing left. It was brilliant
Endo, Diaz, and VVD, they were leaders by example. They have given their all.
Rather say konate then Diaz
@@Nuno_9bro Diaz had a 8.1 on his scored and he made a lot of runs and assists that were missed tf you talking about?
I think the best part of Endo's performance, and I'm surprised you didn't mention this, is the fact that he was only in Liverpool's team because Caicedo and Lavia snubbed Liverpool for Chelsea. Fernandez too really. And yet not only was Endo in contention for man of the match, but he completely outplayed Caicedo and did it without making a reckless dangerous tackle that injured another player which any other ref in Football would have AT LEAST given a yellow for. Well done Endo, master class, and glad Liverpool didn't get Caicedo, Lavia, or Fernandez.
Also worth mentioning the fact that the entire planet outside of the VAR room and ref accept that Van Dyk scored twice.
That is what happens when a ref makes a poor decision in the first half, reviews it at half time, and bottled it to let VAR influence him into an even poorer decision
Endo still remains our samurai ❤
Well said I couldn't agree more 👍
McConnell " can i walk here "
Enzo " it a free world do what ever u want"
VVD " thank You"
That one fan "unlucky lad"
Endo was amazing. A few weeks ago when he was gone for Asian cup Liverpool felt really vulnerable.
Endo’s vision and passing is underrated
It should be noted, all those kids now have more trophies than Harry Kane.
"I'm sure this comment will get me likes" 🤣
@@purpleg3899 🤣
Excuse my ignorance, but who is Harry Kane?
@@thoriqziyaad5877 WWE superstar.
I have the same amount of medals as Harry kane
Waturu Endo is the bargain of the season £15m a snip.
in a way Klopp was trolling Poch by putting on the kids, like 'look we can even beat you with the teenagers lol'
Even with under fives😂
He had no choice really
@@Uhhmelmuhay bro, let’s be real. Most managers do not dare to throw in the youngsters and will just leave the tired senior guys on the field EVEN when they have no choice…
@MarcusLeo-cv4dw how about Poch who's been working with kids for the entire season
Glad you gave a shoutout to Endo, he hasn't been given enough credit for filling a very important role, and more often than Klopp planned for him because of all the team's injuries. He had a rough start, but he didn't get to train in the preseason, and he's been fantastic recently. Kelleher also deserves praise, great saves from him
Liverpool’s kids are so well trained just like Bradley! They’re full class! You can see how well he’s done and they just added in a few more “Bradley’s”. Add fresh legs to that equation and that’s how we kept on Chelsea for the rest of the match!
My brother asked me if I was going to watch the final. He is a chelsea fan so i told him it'll be the equivalent of watching a final between Liverpool and fulham.
Bold 😂😂 bro 😂😂
I think you should have more respect to Fulham 😉😂
@@lcschmitz lol
Fulham are dangerous bro
A bit unfair on Fulham, they'd have given a better game
Not even a shout for Kelleher!? Dude was immense.
Everyone was immense!
Nor Lucho. For me he was my motm his constant threat going forward from the first whistle at the start was the catalyst and set the platform for all those top class performances from the boys behind stood out alot for me ⛳
Brilliant analysis particularly showing the lack of Chelsea press, 12mins McConnell, and how Endo was so isolated but still put in an amazing performance!
this video was fucking brilliant! I was at the game and got wrapped up in the emotion and atmosphere as to when Klopp made the sub of all the kids I was thinking its to hold out and hope we get lucky on the pens, but your break down in this video of certain roles of players is fascinating and has changed my mind as to what Klopp's intentions may have been. I also really like you delivery style and humour in your break downs keep up the top work!
Klopp even said after the match in an interview that everybody thought he is just surrender the match and doesnt even want to win it.
Chelsea's lack of pressing certainly helped, but it was still a great decision by klopp. Those young lads will have that memory forever, regardless of where their careers go.
WATARU ENDO-SAN you lovely lovely man you.
What’s impressive about Endo as well is in 5:52, you see him clock Gallagher and make that split second decision, a small task but key to show the shift he had to put in
I am so proud of my national team captain! 🇯🇵
and surprised to see that performance by Kelleher and academy kids
He actually spit out the Carabao 😭😹
Their office floor is going to be oddly sticky there until the day it's replaced lol
The Carabao energy drink they sell in the UK is pretty average but the beer they sell out here is decent tbh.
carabao energy drink tastes like shit anyway
LABIA WIPING CACIEDOS TEARS WAS HILARIOUS 😂😂😂😂...
Wait. This happened? Is there video?
Labia 😂
why?
"Labia" ffs man, I was eating as I read that and nearly choked! 🤣
CRYCEDO
Im in Melbourne, when they got that corner i actually said "now would be a good time to score ", i cracked up when it went in. Bloody great.
so close to 500k....it will happen...Klopp is 5 months older than me and I take so much inspiration from him, trying hard to be as inclusive and motivating to me team and students
Virgil played like federer here😍 so elegant so accurate
I actually had no idea what carabao was until this moment.
All the intensity of a warm hug.
I like this guy.
As opposed to Chelsea's captain, who spent the evening starting beef and spitting at said teenagers 🤐
All this time and I never even knew Carabao was a drink until now! 🤣 Awesome video as always!!!
that kid's first touch of the game was insane.. just casually dribbes around the striker like he's done it a hundred times
“But then, Ryan Gravenberch’s ankle took a harder roll to the left than this country will at the next general election” 👏🏼👏🏼
That was a tough game in the midfield, for both teams...no wonder they were all knackered in extra time. Every Cup final slows down in extra time! They are not machines...well actually Endo might well be : )
One of your absolute best reviews - I couldn’t stop listening and saying to myself “ 12 minutes” over and over 😂
Thank you for pointing out how awesome Endo was. Some newspaper ratings written by actual ''sports journalists' had him as low as a 6 (six) out of 10!
Caicedo bouncing off endo was hilarious 😂
Great review and breakdown of how the play unfolded. Really enjoyed all the detail.
I remember watching McConnell’s turn and run up the field… I was like… What? The confidence this kid has!
Spot on! Love your analysis’s! Incredible insight.
Really enjoy your videos. Nice to see all the subtle things that I don't pick up on when I'm invested in the game. Thanks Adam
Genuinely I find this the best analysis of Liverpool matches going and I subscribe to a lot of podcasts/channels, and LFC are a club with some excellent in-depth analysis. Superb as always Adam, thanks!
The supercut of Van Dyk's clearances is much appreciated! Thank you for putting the video together. 🙂
Great show - thanks
Class again Adam. Thanks.
Really interesting, thank you. Some real insights here.
Best football analysis as ever. Keep up tghe great work.
Great analysis - cheers
The graphics help a lot. Thanks!
James McConnell ❌
James McConnell with 12 min✅
Conor Bradley too had to put up with chilwell trying to rile him up. He's not a captain at all. Bradley's booking made no sense. He held his arms out wide after chilwell reacted then walked away. Composure from Bradley was astonishing.
Love you vids Adam. Keep it up :D
Love the analysis, spot on as usual. Fave line "Intensity of a warm hug". Brilliant! 😂
Love to see how much these videos have improved over such a short period of time. Great form on BBC-Total Sport Newcastle United podcast as well btw
adam clery "last year's losing finalist" lmaooo.... "but chelsea just show all the intensity of a warm hug"... brilliant one liners as always!
Absolutely brilliant analysis as always.
quality spit take. quality analysis. love this channel.
The way you mentioned the subs coming on it sounded like they came on after extra time/the Gallagher substitution. But he actually made all of them except quansah in normal time. I think he really just believed in them
thanks for adding clips and images . subbed
Good analysis. It shows that hardwork beat talent. Mudryk, nkunku, Enzo, caceido may have all the talent, but they fail to work hard. Chelsea recruitment need to see this
Very good analyses…. Wow Endo was super human!!
6:40 Endo: i can do your job better than you and for 10 times less the cost
Great analysis. Subscribed.
Brilliant video!
Well done mate, great content
Great vid and spot on
Wonderful analysis
Adam, I was eagerly awaiting the video on Ars-NUFC video. I missed the passion with which you make other videos ( minus your bias when NUFC loses)
Fantastic analysis.
Congratulations on 500k!
Well deserved shout out to Endo and McConnel. We should also talk about Danns, he almost got the header.
Superb analysis
Thanks very much for the video. Great work, and the Dutch politics joke was slick.
Brilliant analysis
Best analysis I've seen.
Great analysis.
Great vid!
I like your Subbuteo set, I still have the first generation astro pitch from 40 years ago lying around somewhere, hope my mum hasn't mistaken it as some door mat...
Proud of the Klopp kids on Sunday. In bringing Gomez at RB , allowed Bradley further up on the RW after the gravenberch injury, really astute move. Gonna miss his tactical awareness.😢
13:40 why is Kevin De Bruyne undercover taking pictures of Jürgen Klopp and Harvey Elliot???
Klopp should have brought in Danns for gravenberh allowing gakpo to slot into the midfield thereby maintaining the shape of the midfield
Finally, an appreciation analysis for Wataru Endo.
Spot on Endo, it's like Milly, only sharper
YNWA
That clip of Enzo gets funnier every time
as Lucas always says, UNLUCKEEEE
Kids?
Endo and VanDijk have 65 years between them. Sure, its a understrength team but lets not make it sound silly by calling them "kids".
Been waiting for this video before the match even ended
This is obviously not the same level (not even close) but similar situation in highschool we were playing a team that took us to extra time in a game and we noticed that they were absolutely exhausted so we made a few subs and scored 2 in extra time to win. Jurgen absolute coaching master class.
Subscribed for the ankle roll quip
We have the best coach and the best academy right now ❤
Hi Adam. I just looked into your background and to my surprise you're a media guy. I expected you to have a football background with coaching badges. Do you have a team that does the analysis and then passes it on to you or are did you just play a lot of football manager as a kid?
endo was the man of match for me too ...
All the Liverpool players were prepared to put in the hard yards when it matched, not all the Chelsea players were.
That was the difference.
That’s was brilliant - LFC fan x
Great, thanks
We skipped out on caicedo and lavia for about 150 mil just to get endo for 16 mil. A blessing in disguise
The introduction was so hilarious 😂😂😂
You say those young players would be absolutely shittin it but I actually disagree, to an extent. If Klopp believed in me and I got one of those hugs, my confidence would be sky high😅
Nervous maybe?
