People dont credit Exo enough for their insane dance and live stage presence, understandable because the vocals are hellaaaaaa crazy, but also the fact they got two of the best dancers in the whole of kpop Kai and Lay? And also Sehun? And Xiumin? And ahahaha all of them dance amazingly including our holy vocal trinity ChanBaekSoo it is insane i meeean nobody does it like them NOBODY. Younger gens have great energy and super fun moves, but they often do not have this level of finesse and and control and technique that Exo has
Fr Exo's choreography is really underrated especially their footwork, granted that their choreography isn't as complex as some other groups like infinite and seventeen but it's still hard. They make it look so easy, the amount of body control and flow required in their choreography is insane.
I *love* how EXO doesn't just go for wow-factor points with everything! Their performances are crafted to best fit & compliment the song. And they and they're team are clearly thinking about how they'll be preformed live or later in a concert situation~ No to mention that their choreography is often instantly recognizable to its corresponding song, especially title tracks!!! But also for their B-sides there's choreo, like for Don't Go or Moonlight, that EXO-Ls know what song just by the choreo~ Put an EXO song during a random dance play and watch how many people know at least the point choreo^.^ And they have a talent for making pretty difficult choreo look easy, too!~ AND also managing to clearly dance as a group while maintaining individual style^.^

Also stuff like Ooh La La La that may appear chill is extremely technical - for those that love learning kpop dances try doing Ooh La La La. You think you’re following along easily sure, then look at yourself in the mirror and look at Exo. No, you ate nowhere near Exo level at all 😂 going from the hard to soft; the extensions of the arms, the softness in the fingers, the sharpness in the turns… the smoothness in transitions… it’s very difficult to do Also there is something to be said about “finishing a move.” In dance and in sport, proper form and technique has to be done throughout a certain move, no shortcuts, no sloppiness. The tension has to be correct at all phases. Exo does This so well. In Seventeen and Infinite the energy is almost always 110% the contrasts and flows are lost sometimes.. I feel like if Exo didnt care as much about perfect vocals, they could totally go crazier with choreo. And thats the thing, just cos you can doesnt mean you should. Theyre singers after all. Singing is always first
