This is well exciting Bex! Beast man Mark putting Golfie on the map, but making a challenge than changes and evolves every year. And I don't blame you for considering proper tyres for a day with so much steep stuff. Looking forward to following along!
That's an amazing challenge! I'm sure you're all over fuelling, but I just listened to Bikerumour Podcast - 103 Gravel Race Feeling with the ladies behind Fuel Good Nutrition, ignore the gravel title, there's just loads of great content about fuelling for big days out and building a training plan, sure they'd be super helpful too, if you have any questions. Go well!!!
Would be cool to see some testing (blood lactates, vo2 max etc) before and after your training and some nutrition and training planning - nerdy but some of us like that stuff. Good luck!
When you've done it, come back and watch this. 2 things, you'll have a hoot and you will see how far you came, and wonder why you worried! Have fun with the journey. No doubt you've got it in the bag.
This will be awesome 💪. I foolishly did something much lesser at Afan years ago and I ate two 12 inch pizzas at halfway through the 13 hour ride. So my nutrition advice would be to stash many pizzas at strategic locations in the woods or have a Deliveroo guy follow you around the trails.
Pizza!? Ooof I’m not sure on that hahah, can’t imagine I’ll roll too good on pizza but I reckon as the challenge goes on maybe just anything with calories will do!
I also saw Marks vid and thought "I'd like to do that, but maybe over a week lol" if I'm free on the Solstice I'll come and ride some laps with you (on my eeb) between charges lol
I would love to see that! To make it interesting for UA-cam just setup the 30H as a goal for dramatic purposes in the final video and i guess you get support during your ride. since Selfsupported would be a lot Harded.
Gowaan Bex, you deffo got this 👍Have you thought about doing a full sighting lap on an e-bike halfway through the training period? NO croissants til race day 😂 Have a wonderful festive period all three of ya 🤘❤️🌈🕊️🌍
That’s a great idea! I hadn’t thought of that but I have been thinking that upper body will need a lot of training as I think this could be the first physical thing to “go” when I’m tired. Will have to acquire an Ebike first….
If you're interested in a great UA-cam channel that focuses a lot on training for this type of mega ride, check out Syd and Macky. They ride massive XC races and show their training along the way. It's a great channel with tons of amazing info!
You can do it! Contact Becci Skelly (you know Becky 😊) who’s doing an Everest up and down Dyfi in 2025. You should work together to realise your dreams 😊
Looking forward to following your journey! I’m being picky here but a helmet mount is not the nicest angle for viewing, can you use a chest mount instead for future videos?
Wow what a challenge. Fuelling and hydration will be a key component to doing your best. If you work with a trainer or dietitian talk to them about your plans. Try things out in advance to see what works for you. Others have mentioned Syd and Macky, they have a lot of info on doing crazy hard amazing 24 hour races and similar challenges. Definitely worth checking out. ua-cam.com/video/NuUKRYrAP5U/v-deo.htmlsi=ULGh2_qK6vw8EwLN Addendum. Make sure to rope your mates in to help support you. Someone to have some warm food or help with mechanicals or logistics when you are 12+ hours in could be a godsend.

🤙🏼yeeeooow! Gotta get some miles in this winter !
Best of luck . . . that's a brutal challenge. I ride the Golfie all the time and only manage 4-5 trails in a day before I am done!!
Amazing! Never ridden Scotland but would love the wahaka that Katy did!
Huge confidence in you getting this done.. get pace and fueling sorted and you will "easily" complete this especially with your support network!

That does sound geeky! Not sure I’m going to be getting that scientific with it 😄

Gonner need this! Hoping to make the last trail Flat White and do a big train with all the locals and people that came out to cheer me on.
You got this Bex😀
So funny for a second I thought you were talking about golfing😂😂. I was like what she's going to start golfing that's her new goal😂.
🤣🤣 🏌️♀️
Definitely look up David Jackson “jacko” breathing guy how you breathe is so crucial for blood oxygen especially on endurance events!
I would love to see that!

Hit up every trail on Win Hill for a training ride. 50km 10,325ft 34 trails.
That’s a mega one! Proper steep and tech climbs 🥹 I’ll be grateful for the smooth fire road I reckon!
How long did it take u?
Gowaan Bex avit, training videos to the theme from Rocky 💪

Hahahaa I can try ha! A bra and a chest mount is a bit claustrophobic for me but if it makes your viewing better 😂😃
Oooh, it’s all about me!! I don’t want you feeling claustrophobic, hard enough challenge as it is! , I can adjust:)
After Gulfie do Innerleithen too
I’ve got a feeling I’m going to get addicted to these silly challenges….
O and you ARE mad 🫨
