    I am glad I found this video. That trim ring was an awesome solution to a problem and a very nice touch. I didn't know these lights existed. I have some govee strip lights above my cabinets and these would go great with them. Just opened up some possibilities for me. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to future videos.

    This the exact problem I am currently facing 😅 but I do not have a 3D printer lol and I don’t know how I feel about re-wiring once I get that can out! Thanks for sharing your work around!

      There are a lot of places that offer 3d printing. You would be surprised how many people have them. Ask your friends and maybe someone can make them for you. The wiring is easy just turn off your circuit.

    Darren, are you still happy with these lights? I just bought 16 of them to have installed in my apartment. The main living area is a 900 sq ft room and I’m dividing it into 4 spaces. Living, dining, bedroom and office. I’ll have 4 per area. I have several Govee lights and even their electric kettle and wireless thermometer. I’ve been very impressed with them so far.

    Great video. I bought nine of these to install in my basement, you think it will work great in a series?

      I would think you could do that no problem they are only 14 watts a light.

      They used to work in HA but I need to redo my HA so I can update it. I am running on a very old version that is not supported anymore.

    What happens when you turn off the lights with the main switch? Does it take time to turn on? It saves the previous settings?

    • @dmurphy68

      They are instant on and they retain the last state they were in.

    Do you shut off the house power when you install the lights ?

    • @BrianVanderbusch
      @BrianVanderbusch Рік тому +1

      You at least want to kill power to whatever circuit you're installing the lights onto

    • @dmurphy68
      @dmurphy68  Рік тому

      Sorry I did not see this comment. You only need to isolate the circuit you are working on. If you feel safer shutting off everything that’s your call. Just be safe and make sure you are not working on live electric.

    How many of these lights are sufficient for a 14x12ft room?

    • @dmurphy68
      @dmurphy68  Рік тому +1

      I have 6 in a room about that size and it lights it up well. At full brightness it is almost to much. If you are doing anything else it is perfect.
