I own the SRP637 (bracelet black dial version of this watch from ~5 yrs ago)? I personally think the term Shrouded Monster makes more sense for these.. they are a lot more monster than they are tuna imho.. Also even though it is pretty big the 637 wears quite well... but I do have 8" wrists however.
Love the yellow second hand, adds a pop to the watch and easy to read. Only down side and not a big one, is the 4R and not 6R movement, but that would increase the cost. Too me it would be worth it. ]
I have a monster. I absolutely love the bracelet. Beautiful finish and ultra comfortable. I switch out bracelets on all my other seikos. The monster nope. It will never see a alternative. Perhaps a adjustable clasp if anything.
I love the factory bracelet on the Baby Tuna. That's one of the few Seiko pieces in my collection that I will not swap bracelets. However, I am considering replacing the clasp.
@@Mark-sd7fc Have never used the dive extension on any of my watches. I don't care for the potato chip clasp. Eventually, I'll put a nice milled clasp on it beit an aftermarket or an upper end Seiko clasp.
I now understand the hate for the bracelet. it's because it's a nightmare to resize since a pin and collar bracelet. Putting the collar back in and getting the pin to sit perfectly in the collar is such a pain. What should take 10 mins to turn into an hour of fighting to get the collar in and seat inside.
I think when u get a Seiko where the bezel actually does line up u get 2 appreciate it more...Its still stupid that a Japanese manufacturing company of all things is still so inconsistent on such a basic thing though
Boss, where did your friend buy his bracelet and the spring bars he use? I have a SBDY053, and bought a bracelet on Amazon but could not use it because the spring bars come with it was so thin that it went through the lug hole. Thanks
I have the planet ocean 2500 45.5 mm. My favorite watch in my collection. Honestly doesn’t even west that big. My favorite watch. Is it just a baby tuna because of the depth rating?
No bezel line up and no sapphire this late in the game is a bit of a joke especially for wat theyre asking.....just a total gimmick and ive owned a few but after some fantastic micro brands i just cant drop on seiko anymore unless it was a grand seiko... That said my swiss divers are alot higher spec than a grand seiko
I'm beginning to think Seiko builds the alignment issues in as a security feature. If it's misaligned, it's a genuine Seiko.
Haha! I do love the fact that when you do get a Seiko thats perfectly aligned it is much sweeter and really awesome! 😂
Sakura is highly reputable. I've bought from them twice and the shipping is very fast and they're very pleasant people to deal with.
Same here, awesome prices and fast shipping.

This is a great looking version of the tuna. Great pairing with that strap.

Just recently purchased this watch off eBay for a great price. This watch is awesome 👍🏻💯
Love the Tuna, the most unique diver.
Love that yellow seconds hand. 👍
Love it! It’s like a combo of a tuna and monster
These baby Tunas are awesome but very expensive on Amazon and eBay.
That's a great looking version of this watch. A seller.
Love my srp639 yellowfin on a hexad bracelet, wears great on my 8” wrist.
Mine bezel and chapter ring on my SBDY055 is spot on 👍🏻
Good afternoon... Beautiful watch!
The yellow seconds on the blue sure is pretty, reminiscent of a yellow-fin!

Love my PVD Black with matching Super Jubilee!

If the dive extension wasn’t there would you like the clasp better? I hate the dive extensions on all my seiko dive watches

Amazon Canada has them NEW listed for $791 CDN coming from Japan. So I guess that would be around 650 USD.
Great review as always! will you be looking at the Seiko Prospex 1959 First Alpinist (SBDC147)?
McMahon is hilarious. Conflicted but hilarious.
Rocking SC Super Engineer on my SRPD21, with proper end lugs, totaly worth it! :) IMHO it's wears very comfortable.
Very cool content as always. Very cool watch too.
I used to have this one . Very cool . But those bezels are difficult to use .
Love the baby tuna.
I got this watch a few months back and to me this is more blue fin tuna like then the actual blue fin tuna baby monster.
Thank you for review. Any chance it becomes collectable in 10+ years?
Yes
Why Seiko can't check the alignment and also include sapphire at this price point is beyond me....
do u have to use the shroud? can u just remove it or would it look weird?
Never understood the "Baby" Tuna reference as they dwarf the Monster 🤔
Hi Sakura website the baby tuna they have is that a JDM model ?

That blue tuna clock in the left hand corner.... That one looks nice... what model is that?
Okay it's a, "Monster Tuna"
It's a canned or shrouded Monster!

Just picked up this exact Japn model on ebay. NEW excellent watch
These are on eBay for $350 anyone who cares. Crazy since these were discontinued for 3 or 4 years and the prices got up to $500-600
@$350-$400 it’s a no brainer. worth every dollar.

He says in the video it's a strapcode engineer bracelet, so from Strapcode...
Would luv to put that seconds hand and blue dial on my 637

Looks more like a Monster than a Tuna.
It is not JDM. Not even listed on the Japanese seiko website
It is a JDM you can only purchase in Japan. I actually own this watch and you can only purchase from Japanese dealer.
👍👍👍
I own a solar version that is a lot smaller, a real "baby" :).
Reference?
@@atticus6572 SNE497 - u commented on another vid about that watch aswell :)

Bro u have enough watch resources poor Ol Jeff don’t have a qtr of the watches u have and ur trying to take his hookup too ?? Shame
Looks like a Seiko trying very hard to be something it’s not. IMO
Tuna is one of the Seiko’s iconic design. Well loved model in the community. Your opinion about seiko is incredibly flawed.
are you going to review the new SRPG57 save the ocean monster?
Soon as they start showing up
@@RandomRobReviews that's what I wanted to hear. Looking forward to it :)
I have one.. it's awesome. Bezel lines up as well! Bonus :)
