It is soooo sad that the first notes of the tune are not included in this film... Piobaireachd (Gaelic is rough on my spell checker... It takes determination to make your phone accept that word lol) is like a story; hard to follow if you miss the beginning... Otherwise, a brilliant rendition of this most famous of big tunes... The crunluath a mach takes my breath away; it really sounds like birds... Truly great! Excellent job Bobby; it sounded "correct"... After hearing this performance, I think I may be dragging the Siubhal and Dithis movements in my own rendering of it... I confess, it sounds nicer played a bit more up-tempo than I was taught. Is it true that this tune is supposed to describe a cock fight? I think it's called "Desperate Battle of the Birds" (besides "An Cath Gailbeach"... I'm probably misspelling the Gaelic, since I have none; please excuse my ignorance) if I've received my ceol mor history correctly... I guess the true inspiration of it can't really be proven, since the composer is lost to time... Oh well, his tune lives on... I think I'll try to find "Little Spree" next... That's another good one... I'm new to the internet... I wish I had access to the UA-cam 20 years ago... I think I'd be a better piper today if I had.
Awesome piping, thank you for sharing!
An excellent recording of a fine performance!
Many thanks.
Great tune, very enjoyable. Thanks for posting this!
