I looked all morning for this scene bc it traumatized me as a kid too, I remember seeing this scene on a tv in a hospital waiting room. Never knew what the name of the movie was until now
I’m not an experienced truck driver as far as stick shifts go, but I do operate tankers that are auto but still have the same air brake systems. And I always thought, hey, she could’ve shot him while immediately reaching for the ignition key, or pulling the parking brake... which is usually front center and easy to get to in most models
But honestly a 100 different scenarios could have happened anyways. He revved up and then Pop Goes the Weasel.. that took way too long I think something could have occurred then, now that I think of it he did have it going and he had his foot on the clutch, even if she was probably able to put it in neutral you still have torque there , and don't say that you don't. Because if you have a vehicle that has a lot of torque/horse power and you put the vehicle in neutral the car still pulls. So honestly he probably would've ended up dying most likely anyway.
For people who say Jim’s death of his body torn apart is CGI is wrong. In the special features of this movie, they used a practical body with fake intestines and red corn syrup for blood.

She let the police chief die and her own boyfriend because she was too scared to just shoot him right there on the spot, didn’t tell the cops that he was currently chasing them while in the police car. I thought the idea was good but execution and the choices these characters make? Absolutely awful. I’d rather watch roadkill as it has a great cast excellent story and good ending
Of all the scenes I saw in this movie, this one is the most terrible except for the one of the pastor who performed the prayer before he died. But be happy, in the end this guy is killed by the girl and the boy is avenged, yet that doesn't alleviate the terrible way he died.
Sean Bean *cannot* deliver this scene like Hauer did in ‘86. And showing the actual death feels completely anticlimactic compared with the original film, where it was more implied and left to the imagination to really drive it home.
I'm a huge fan of the original AND a huge fan of this. Their both their own though telling a very similar story. I hate when people whine and bitch about a movie. "That could've never happened", "That looked fake", etc, etc, etc. It's a MOVIE! It's not meant to be anything but entertaining! Godzilla's not real, so imagine a world without him. No living man ever could take down an army of men the way John Wick can, so let's erase that too. There's no such thing as superheroes, so let's eliminate all the Batman and MCU movies cause it's not real life. I could go on and on. The point is that movies are meant to entertain and part of the fun is allowing yourself to sink into the story being told. I don't know if it's a gift you have to have to be able to do that. If it is, then I'm thankful I have it cause I can get absorbed into almost any movie instantly and enjoy it beginning to end. Then I'll hear several hundred times from friends, reviews, UA-cam comments, etc about how horrible the movie was. My taste in movies is not trash and I know some will say that. I just love movies and appreciate all the time it takes to make them and the actors/actresses that bring it to life. If movies were all based on the realm of reality (how accurate a shot one can be, how one person couldn't fight more than 6 guys without losing, T-100's don't exist, etc, etc, and again etc) then movies would be pretty damn boring! The good guy action heroes wouldn't survive past the first few scenes, comedies wouldn't be so funny, and AGAIN etc!!! Both Hitchers were great and I hope the day comes where everyone just allows themselves to be entertained by the film. Til then, STFU cause those enjoying the movie don't give a shit if you think "that couldn't really happen and it looks fake"
There's people saying that if she shot him the truck would have stalled with his foot off clutch like cars. Semi trucks have so much torque it would start rolling and pull him even without any throttle applied.
I’ll admit as bad as this remake is this was the most satisfying death next to Ryder getting his at the end The original with Nash felt kinda restrained

@@laqundrabarnett4141 Oh I see now
Of all the scenes I saw in this movie, this one is the most terrible except for the one of the pastor who performed the prayer before he died.
So this is what 006 did before he was working with 007.
I saw this as a 6 year old
Same. It stuck with me for all those years
same or around that age, idk why my dad let me see it bc this scene is the only one i remember from this movie 😗
@@wumpy0106 you guys need better parents
Cops more worried about a chick with a gun vs. the criminal lol
Til then, STFU cause those enjoying the movie don't give a shit if you think "that couldn't really happen and it looks fake"
the truck isnt even in gear. He shifts before moving y
Didn't know rusty nail was in this
That was one hell of a pop
TONY STARK
I mean... EDDARD STARK!!
I mean damn this traumatized me at 16
There's people saying that if she shot him the truck would have stalled with his foot off clutch like cars. Semi trucks have so much torque it would start rolling and pull him even without any throttle applied.
Damn, Triple H just killed AJ Styles. 😎

not one of the cop cars box the truck in 😂
Shot to the chains? Park the cars in front of the trunk?
Shoulda popped the tires
Why couldn’t some of the officer sneak in and unchain Jim
Sean Bean only lives up the road from me,a great actor but the original with Rutger Hauer was better
Loved this and the og hitcher
When people say scarred them as a kid, are they talking about the 1986 version or 2007?
I’ll admit as bad as this remake is this was the most satisfying death next to Ryder getting his at the end
The original with Nash felt kinda restrained

Clever people shoot the chain...
There's a chance that if the killer saw the police trying to shoot the chains he could just go for the gas ripping him to shreds.
@@haseoboi9433 think they meant that if the gorl shoot the chains he would of probably been saved
@@naivelopez3601 then again it isn't that easy. He was behind the wheel. If he had heard that he could just floor it and that could rip him instantly.
@@haseoboi9433 guess you kind of right
I’m pretty sure it would probably only rip his arms off, maybe his legs too. But ripped in half at the torso? Makes for good Hollywood movies. I remember the original movie with Rutger Hauer & C. Thomas Howell. I like both movies. The newer one is definitely more graphic.

They used to do this all the time in some countries
I still cry with this movie
You should watch the 1986 original movie of The Hitcher. The girl and not the boy is the one who got killed, just that, that was the BIG CHANGE in this trash of remake

Does the Kenworth belong to Ryder?
