11:16 - FYI to everyone following this tutorial, "theme styles" has been updated to "site settings" :) Thanks so much for this tutorial it's the best out there!
I was brought on by a client who had their previous team leave me with a shell of a site on WordPress and asked me to rebrand it. My experience is primarily with Wix and Squarespace outside of one semester project in high school seven years ago. The custom theme they created was not compatible and I was trying to work with a half functioning form of Elementor. Switched my theme and found your videos and they completely saved me. You are amazing! Thank you for helping the rest of us learn.
Thanks again, Paul, another superb video. In a previous life (I was a vehicle mechanic) things were all pretty straight forward. As someone who has come to affiliate marketing late in life however (I'm 63!) I must say I'm finding it all a bit of a struggle! Not only am I having to learn all the required skills for the actual marketing aspects; Keyword research, SEO etc, but I'm also having to learn design AND hands-on creation too - its definitely for the young! LOL Still I'll keep on banging away and hopefully, with time and the help of great videos such as yours, eventually I will achieve some kind of success! Once again, many thanks Stay safe George. :-)
Outstanding! Themes make life so very easy but they can be so very daunting...I get "Where do I start?" paralysis nearly every time. You've taken me through everything I need to know to get started without fear. And even better is that I can get unchained from using a prebuilt site and create a truly bespoke design. Of course, the very first step is to have a plan. ;-) Thanks a million, Paul !!
Just what I needed, I am learning how very complex and comprehensive Elementor Pro is, so much to know and put into practice. This is my first website for my small business and it has been a trip. Your efforts and a few others has definitely made it much easier. Thanks again.
Very good video Paul as usual. Looking forward to seeing that video about JetSmartFilters In Conjunction With ACF and ACF Forms (And The Compatibility Issues / Problems As of Current Date.)
Thanks Paul, this was very helpful indeed. I'm new to WP and E Pro and decided to switch over from GeneratePress to Hello given your early remarks in this video. I am enjoying applying the lessons from this video, but not yet sure how to make what's on my desktop look good on my iPhone 8. Will look out soon for videos on making my site fully responsive to different devices and screen sizes. Cheers.
Hi Paul, all of your videos are great and very informative. Thank you for that. A suggestion, when you were changing the footer block color details for each item, you were doing it IN the template. So, if you were to change the global colors for the site, you would have to go back into that template and change them in there as well. What I just tested out and wanted to pass on to you and your followers is, if you just "clear" the preset color when you load the block, it will take on the Theme Style settings you were showing us how to configure. Then, when you want to change the link color ever so slightly, or a font style, it will replicate in there automatically without having to go into the template also and double-duty on the work. I hope I didn't offend, I didn't know how else to get in touch with you privately. Cheers.
I really love your tutorials. Do you plan on making a 2022 update as well since they've made some changes to the theme builder (now with a visual option and additional site parts)?
Hi Paul Thank you for tutorials, but I need a bit of advice please. How can we use elementor pro, to build an entire theme, and not only the theme, but an entire website AND move that theme/website completely to another brand new website? I was using elementor kit on my tests so far, but that is leaving behind the images used, so when installing the elementor kit on the new site, there are no images. Is there something I'm missing? A small advice pls, or do you have a tutorial for this...as I was looking over and couldn't found anything related to my issue. Thank you in advance 😊
Hi This is a great Tutorial thank you. I had a question. When you created the Archives page, your images appeared automatically. When I create the archive page the images are missing. What am I doing wrong?
Magic tutorial, thank you. I wondered if you have one on exporting your own theme and templates to another site? I find that even all setting my typography globally within the theme builder, some are not displaying correctly when dropped into the new site (with same environment theme etc). Need to be able to bulletproof the styling?
I watched your original tutorial and immediately saw that you were using an older version of Elementor than mine. Notably that the more recent Theme Builder has two options for the templates POST and SINGLE POST. Just reviewed this newer version of your tutorial, BUT no mention of the differences between these two types of templates. Would much appreciate an explanation. (My settings : WP v5.71, Elementor v 3.22, Elementor Pro v 3.21, Theme : Hello Elementor Child 2.02) Thanks, Martin
Great tutorial with some good tips. Having created a theme I like with Elementor Pro I struggle to see how I could export that as a theme and use it on another site
Thank you!!! Question. Can I create a sidebar for the single post using Hello Theme? And then can I add there a widget I create? or other usual features of the blog post? List of categories... recent posts.... subscribe form ....
Excellent. I’ve never been confident with themes, this gives me total and understandable control. Re. Conditions .... if only they allowed us to set a condition of logged in/logged out users.
Have a look at the free Dynamic Visibility for Elementor plugin. You could easily use that with the theme builder to manage what logged in or out users can see. 👍
WPTuts Many thanks. Had a play but a couple of problems. 1) I can’t get it to work. Installs ok and shows a “visibility” tab on the element menu sidebar ... but I can’t select it. No errors seen just nothing happens when I click on it. I suspect it is unhappy with latest WP, Elementor, PHP versions as not been updated for a while. 2) It looks like the only way to show a different header/footer to logged in/out users would be to create two copies of the header with one hidden to one type of user. I’m sure that would work but seems a bit clumsy to me. I already have a membership plugin that hides any other content. It just doesn’t seem able to do it for headers/footers. Btw using Desktop Server for local installation. Tried your Flywheel recommendation a couple of times but never managed to get that to work. Everything else on the site seems ok so don’t think that’s a cause.
Oops. Fixed issue 1). Had to save and reopen the header template a few times before the “visibility” tab started to respond. But now I see a lot of drop down boxes, such as to select a user role, that don’t display correctly. Roles is just 1 char but no content. Others again 1 char with content vertical so very hard to use. Lol isn’t WP fun?
1+). Turns out the drop down isn’t a drop down after all. If you start typing in the 1 char field it expands to match any found role. So it’s just a selection box where you can type one or more role names. Think the UI needs some work.
Hi, great video, subscribed 👍 I'm new to Wordpress, so just getting the hang of everything. Can you now do quite a few of the features in Elementor pro in the Kadence theme?
You know what, I am just having problem now about this. I have a 7 identical pages and every time I'll be changing something in one page, I need to repeat the process in another then I am finding a way around it then your video just uploaded. What a coincidence! Haha Thanks a lot
Thanks!. As you used to do, excellent and well presented. Question: once you have the "Hello-modified" theme, how you can rename it and convert in your own team for further use?
You named the testimonial widget "Global Widget" under pages, would it be better to name it based on what it is e.g "Global Testimonial Widget"? Also since these are published pages, wouldn't they be indexed by google, do you need to set noindex in this case?
As always great video. One question, do you always use the Hello theme when using Elementor? I'm new to Elementor and started using Generate Press but thinking of changing to Hello theme.
Another great tutorial Paul! Keep 'em coming. I'm having a problem troubleshooting an Astra Pro/Elementor Pro conflict and was wondering if the Hello theme is suitable to use on a WooCommerce website?
Yes, you can absolutely use Hello to build a WooCommerce store. In fact, take a look at my recent tutorial doing just that as part of an artist website. It takes a little more effort to build and style with Hello, but definitely possible to do.
How can I make a custom wordpress theme (called xyz) compatible with Elementor so I can use those features to build a website? I don't wanna start with a parent theme or something, I wanna start from scratch.
Do you have to have Elementor pro to build your own theme? I'm new to this and want to find the best way to build an amazing music theme as I'm promoting music artists. Hope you can help with this. EDIT: I've just watched some of the video and you answered my question lol.
Interesting, the more I watch the videos about theme builder the more I am confused when to use f.e. WP Ocean settings and when to build the site/elements with Elementor. Moreover, for some reason I cannot change the footer or header just by creating templates in elementor and adding condition to use in on entire site. Are my pages blocked by WP_Ocean concept/settings ?? Should my pages be made as Canvas concept? or Full Width? All in all I fail to change the footer / header on entire site..
Awesome video But recently I was asked by one of my client to make a hover effect for the post grid similar to @t Is there any way I can do that without coding or just through css.
Does anyone know if Theme Builder will allow me to create a static image full width responsive at the very top of the page, and then the header menu under the sticky image?
You can do a lot with the free version and if you are new to Elementor, that's where I would start. Get used to the free version and if you find it doesn't do everything you want for a particular project, invest in the Pro version to fill the gaps.
@@fahadreda3060 personally, I tried Thrive Architect and preferred Elementor over it. Pretty much any modern page builder is going to do the same basic thing. Once you go beyond that, it is a different thing. If you want to stick with standard WordPress like functions, then most of them will do a great job (more of a personal preference as to which you like working with better). If you want to move beyond that and build more advanced websites with dynamic content then I say that Elementor FAR exceeds all the others on that front. As Elementor free lets you try the ecosystem without investing any money (whereas most, if not all of the others require you to pay (excluding Brizy)), install it, try it out and see if you like it before investing money into another system. I hope that helps?
hi! may I know why my Elem. the theme builder v3 says "failed to fetch" when I am trying to add condition and save it. It doesn't apply and says failed to fetch. how to fix that? thank you.
It's still good practice to use a child theme if you intend to make edits to the theme files directly. If you don't intend to do that, then using a child theme isn't really necessary.
Man, when are they going to make it so you can use an elementar footer, but your themes header? E-commerce themes suffer from an elementor header, but benefit from an elementor footer. It's shame that whenever the footer is enabled, the theme's header disappears forcing the user into an elementor header.

Excellent explanations. You should be proud of how you manage to cover the information in a clear and concise way!

Thanks Paul! You're the best Elementor UA-camr out there!
You're way too kind Blaine, but thank you all the same. ;0)
Your tuts on Elementor Pro are the best, honest to God!
You're a wonderful instructor! I'm a subcriber.
The best comprehensive update on Elementor around. Kudos !

Thanks for another great tutorial.
This is great! Thank you Paul!

Very good video Paul as usual. Looking forward to seeing that video about JetSmartFilters In Conjunction With ACF and ACF Forms (And The Compatibility Issues / Problems As of Current Date.)

I’ve recently gotten into WP and was about to buy Astra... but is it important anymore with the Elementor Theme Builder?
THANK YOU once again - love global widget bit!
