Thank you for this animations. Its very generic and helpful for new learners. Regards from Napa Napa Oil and Gas Refinery - Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
@batteem thanks for the compliment. This is only a unit process created for a Mechanical Engineering student at IIT Bombay based on an instructional design template
@niSoeB2uty in industrial scale, the columns are of much larger size and used in various fields including the oil industry. They are used for separating crude oil into fuels such as diesel, petrol and other hydrocarbons. In laboratory scale however, the equipment size is quite small. Hope it helps:)
I was an Operator in the F.C.C. Unit in an oil refinery when I was a younger man. Video animation of this nature would have been an excellent addition to our industry training and testing. I've been inside several types of process and storage vessels; this is a very good description of it's layout. Have you duplicated a complete running refinery or unit process?
Hello it's been 9 years😂 I hope you are doing great. I'm a chemical engineering student. 3 semesters left to join the workforce😎 Any advices for me? Hopefully you're not usually wrong right now since you have experience
Der Sneha, hope you are quite well. I have a channel of chemical engineering and I was wondering if there is any chance to use your animation for educational purposes, obviously mentioning your channel
It is the soluble component IN the bottom gas they want to extract. For example, if you have air containing pretty rich amount of Cl gases, you can not simply release it into the atmosphere. By passing the air through such a column, you can remove nearly all of the dangerous Cl and release the clean air!
And the distillation column really does more than that. It does multi-phase extraction but that will bring in a lot more boring concepts. But the feed always come from either bottom or middle and always travels up.
Superb animation and definitely promotes a clear understanding of column distillation. May I ask whether you have something similar to understand patent still distiilation with analyser and rectifier columns? I would love to see that as i teach bar and beverage in hotel mgmt colleges and patent distillaton is the base of most grain and nuetral spirits.
i can designed the distillation tower or apparatus for used (waste) mineral oils , alcohol , glycerin , any liquid organic compounds for 1 ton / hour or / day in Egypt / Alexandria phone: 0122866233
@ampjet Do you understand what´s going on in the video that you placed in your comment ?? If so, could you answer a few questions i have ?? If you could help id be grateful, future chemical engineer student here. :D
Nice video! If you want to learn more about the uses of oil in our everyday life, check out Fuelling Europe’s Future channel. For those who are interested there is also an interactive animation hosted on our website.
This seems to be a really good video to help better illustrate what I am learning about in my Chemical Engineering courses. Thanks!

Excellent illustration of how a distillation column works. Thank you.

BEAUTIFUL!!! bravo on the animation. definitely helps me understand a distillation column
I dont understand how the sepraration is done or what the trays should do cause i saw the same liquid transport from bottom to the top
What is different between vessel & column?
Qual a funçao da coluna D no aparelho de destilaçao,e em que interfere?
Perfect, I now have a clear understanding of column distillation. Thanks alot
why process air into distillation column?

Wich materijal IS better for column, inox or copper?
Amazing Animation
Is this tray type distillation coloumn
Impossible that head-condensor works this way in air-separation process! Where from the reflux?
this is really very helpful,,thanx to the uploader
is this air separation plant?
What software was used to make this animation?
Podoba mi sie.

plz explain the vacuum distillation process for a metal like a Zr with impurities like Mg,Mgcl2
Why this video has no sound?
Awesome. Many thanks
Is it the top or bottom product they want to extract?.....someone helpme asap

Can I use this concept for the fractionalation of h20?
Really nice video!
It is really a nice video. Please let me know which software you have used for animation.
Blender open source software
Thanks a lot. It is really helpful for me.
would have been better if some one was talking about the process. silent videos are very annoying
Maiden tower is a rectification column used for oil processing. More details - in the next video:

Esta genial la animación
excellent, this would be so so helpful..but y no sound?
Thank you for your work
helpful in understanding the basics
These look like bubble cap. Not very commonly used anymore. We use sieve tray here.
감사합니다.
Good video
thanks for the good animation... I want the top condenser map of this type of distillation tower. can u help me?
Process air- steam. Weir - down comer. Vertical plate on tray- weir....
what program can I use to create something like this?
Distillation column ko hi fractonating column bolte hai kya
Best, your 3D video and concept.
I am purchase this distillation coloum
Could this also fractionalize h20?
Pure H2O has no fractions.
hi i want know software name
Plz upload videos about Distillation design
🎉🎉🎉
thanks for the video...
your welcome
Adorei
Thank you madam
In the name of GOD.thanks.it was good.
cool
Супер 👍
I was watching jerry springer how tf did I get here
Im confused
super
